      Yes, definitely for those who could appreciate the meaning and experience of the velvet touch of someone's body Frida is singing about. It's a very seductive lovesong, so it's meant to be slooow and slushy. ABBA didn't just do dance songs, in fact they were often criticized for just doing what was termed 'bubblegum pop' in the early '70's. By 1980 they have definitely improved & matured.
      Her Spanish version is even better of you're looking for "grandiose." Lots of people don't like it, but many do. As one person said, it grows on you, and I think that is definitely the case. I found it a good contrast from some of the faster songs on the Super Trouper album. Thank you anyhow.

      I don't get it either. I've said elsewhere that it's a mystery to me that many people immediately recognize Agnetha's voice but have trouble recognizing Frida's. The girls' voices are so different when they sing solo parts.

      @@6549Marci But they also didn't recognize Agnetha in I've Been Waiting For You. ^^ I don't know if it can depend on someones ears but it is always mentioned in the comments who sings a song, so even if one can't differentiate them, they just have to read the comments. ☺

      @Lisa-M 2 роки тому

      @German Morawski As I said, other ones don't even get it after almost 100 songs. But here it had been clear just with reading the comments in the previous reactions because a lot of viewers mentioned it before that Andante Andante is sung by Frida. And perhaps their bad sound system in the car sometimes distorts the sound. They should really use headphones.
      Their voices were not always different. There was a time at the beginning of their career where one can't recognize the difference in the voices of the girls. Listen to Honey Honey for example.

    As a huge ABBA fan, I absolutely agree with you! Frida's vocals are great, but the melody and production are boring and sterile, too 'perfect'. Unlike most fans, I felt this album was too 'adult contemporary' and synth-driven compared to their previous albums. I do love the title track "Super Trouper", "Lay All Your Love On Me", and "Our Last Summer". "The Piper" is interesting too, with its medieval feel.

    Sound quality of this vid is awful - listen it to it on a quality sound system! This is an incredibly beautiful song - and I believe only released in Argentina and Spain (they know their market). Anni-Frid was every bit as good Agnetha, who always seemed to get most glory. For myself, a beautiful, beautiful song.

    As others have commented Andante is Italian for walking pace or moderately slow tempo but it's helpful to know that all sheet music,no matter what country you're in, uses Italian words to indicate the instructions of the composer so that there's a universal ( & agreed upon) way for musicians to understand the terms (& there are a lot of them) no matter what nationality they are. Also using that term, although its a bit embarrassing to admit it, would have probably been used to indicate that the singer feels like her lover should play her like an instrument hence the musical instructions andante andante 😲.

    I think that this song contains adult themes and euphemisms and really you ought not to have listened to it before turning 21. TCC says several times "I like that" or words to that effect. Marissa also points out parts that she likes, but she is looks unimpressed overall. I do love Frida's final phrase and the emphasis on the word 'down'. Off on a tangent as I am wont to do, the line in the song "Tread lightly on my ground" always reminds me of the poem by WB Yeats, He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven:
    "Had I the heavens’ embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."
    Anyway, thanks for an entertaining reaction as always, but I think your video title overstates your reaction. You DID enjoy this Abba song, but just to the extent that you have come to expect. 🎸👣

    May make more sense in the context of the album, a pause between two up tempo numbers (haven't checked)? I mean, Bumble Bee on Voyage does something similar.

    My mum loved Adante Adante. One of her favourite ABBA songs. I think it’s a beautiful song but I can understand it doesn’t appeal to everyone.
    ABBA are my favourite group of all time. Love most of their songs but I am not a fan of The Day Before You Came. It’s perfectly fine not to like every single song, it makes you both authentic.
    Would love to know what Marissa thinks of the ABBA songs she missed reviewing.

    I totally agree. Lovely song, beautiful vocals… just not up there with the theatricality of ABBA’s greatest hits. For something a little different, try some of their early efforts, like Honey, Honey or Hasta Mañana.

    You should have react Spanish version of this! It's amazing! You can hear Bennys synth far more clear in the chorus and the arrangement is slightly different, like You hear it first time! Even got flashback like going back to 1981 spring, when listening the album. :)

    You should go back to the beginning of their careers as ABBA. This era is way mature. Go take a look at Nina Pretty Ballerina or other earlier songs. Still it's great as always, just want you to go to their beginnings when they were just dating and happy.

    This song did not strike a cord with me the first time either. The song lured me in slowly. It would be almost impossible a soothing, slow-tempo song like this could stand out on such a fine album like Super Trouper, where there are already many brilliant stand-out songs: The Winner Takes it All, Our Last Summer, Lay All Your Love on Me, Super Trouper, Me and I, etc. Yet, still, a beautiful, well-Polished song. Not my favorite either, considering their extensive library of brilliant masterpieces. Please try a Linda Ronstadt number From "Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind" album. Either "Still Within the Sound of My Voice" or "Adios." She is one of the very few artists who could match the voice range and raw emotion like that of Agnetha and Frida. Nothing but genuine vocal talent in these three ladies. Try Linda. Btw, you going to do Voules-vous? Until next time Tyler & Marissa, so long! Hey, have you done So Long? It's an energetic, early Abba rocker. Fun song from their ABBA album.
