That end note may be one of the longest holds I've heard. At least in ABBA. Both Agnetha and Frida have their special talents. Agnetha can take a note up to the ceiling, and Frida can stretch it out down the street!
Love it 👍💛
Frida and Agnetha both can go high (Eb6). Agnetha pretty much stays in her soprano range. Frida sing all parts: alto, mezzo and soprano.
Breathing: Frida used diaphragmatic breathing which gives her support, fullness, and plenty of air in reserve.
Agnetha does not use diaphragmatic breathing. She sings from the upper chest.
Abba in the UK in the 1970s was famous for Agnetha's singing. So it is a small irony that this is their best song [in my opinion] but with Frida dominating.
@@jamesstewart8846 Hmmm. I wasn't there so I do pretend to know, but Frida had her share of no. ones in the UK, including Fernando, Super Trouper and Knowing Me, Knowing You (which I think was actually the best selling single of its year in the UK). Were the general audiences really that preferential to Agnetha?
@@jamesstewart8846 Agnetha is fine. But she has never been in Frida's league. This is no secret.
Agnetha fits the standard upper chest pop singer. Tons and tons of those in pop music.
Frida's refined ear/control, fullness, warm timbre, etc... makes her sound as if she is classically trained. She has no formal music conservatory school education, but sounds like she has.
On a side note: Benny Andersson sound like he too has music conservatory school training on piano. He has not.
Frida was noticed as a child for her keen ear/pitch perfect, vocal skills. She has always has always had a stellar reputation among her peers. She was well known among fellow musicians well before she was known by the masses in Sweden.
Frida made her name and reputation on the stages, which started while she was in grade school. 1956-58, charity events as she was too young to turn pro. In 1958, she turned 13 and turned pro. She was still 3 years under aged, but hired anyway.
Both Frida and Agnetha entered vocal talent hunts. Frida excelled in these vocal centric competitions. She has won local, regional and national levels. In 1964, won National Vocalist. In 1967, another National win and it proved to be her big break into TV, EMI Sweden, etc...
Agnetha, pre teen entered vocal talent hunts. She did not do well. In this environment, it is LIVE. An audience. Judges with criticing all aspects of the performance. Agnetha stopped doing talent hunts early on.
Live environments, separate the pro's from the amateurs very fast.
Frida spent her childhood, teen, early adulthood on the stages singing more and more complex vocal centric genres. This really refined her skills.
Agnetha became known via a record label. A generated and marketed pop singer. She was not a solo front and center, live environment on stage performer/entertainer. She did do some, but she is not known for her solo, front and center performances.

Re: UK Boom
Regarding UK ABBA boom. It happened after the boom in West Germany and Australia and Scandinavia The really big boom in UK happened with the release of 'Arrival' album and the single 'Fernando', which is actually a ABBA cover of Frida's #1 Swedish "Fernando' off of 'Frida Ensam' album (Frida Alone), 1975.
There are three 'Fernando's:
1. Vocal Demo, Tango version, Frida
2. Swedish, Frida
3. ABBA, english
ABBA's 'Fernando' is the ABBA song that held the longest #1 spot on a major chart, Australia #1 for 14 consecutive weeks.
'Arrival' album & 'Fernando' put ABBA into orbit around the world. 'Arrival' album was #1 in UK and became ABBA's biggest selling album. A huge critical and commercial success.
The big 'Arrival'/Fernando era songs:
1. Fernando
2. Dancing Queen
3. Money Money Money
4. Knowing Me Knowing You
Love both ABBA girls. But I have always recognized Frida's exceptional ear, vocal skills, diaphragmatic breathing. I then started reading about ABBA/Polar Music and my early opinion on Frida's refined skills was spot on. Frida is the real deal.

ABBA: Bright Lights Dark Shadows
The Real Story of ABBA
By Carl Magnus Palm
Frida gets lots of attention, praise from the ABBA/Polar Music Team and her peers that worked and knew her throughout her career.
Benny, Bjorn and Michael Tretow - ABBA's recording engineer, considered Frida a master vocalist.
Read everything you can from Carl Magnus Palm and also the recent release of 'Frida Beyond ABBA' by a Dutch writer.
'Frida Beyond ABBA' starts before she was even born, which sets up the unfortunate circumstances for which she was born into and how she navigated through her singing career with a life full of tragic events, but always coming out the other end stronger.
Both her personal story and her professional story is fascinating.
She doesn`t only hold that last note, she sings it changing her sound as she goes. Absolutely gorgeous song and vocals.
Fantastic song for her voice. Thank you for the reaction.
Frida holding that note is really something. Thanks again for such a lovely reaction. 👍🎵🎶🥰🇸🇪
Thank you too!
hello dear friend, happy to see you at our ABBA Journey
"Andante Andante" (1980)
It is one of the songs from the album "Super Trouper",
never performed by ABBA, nor was it made an official video
(it remained as a track from the álbum)
It is one of the ABBA songs that has a title in another language
Italian, like Mamma Mia
others are Voulez Vous (French)
Fernando and Chiquitita (Spanish)
It is a beautiful song of love, romance and eroticism, like no other has ABBA
(which is actually more remembered for its songs of breakup and melancholy)
Frida's sweet voice is ideal for this soft melody,
the chorus is powerful, and it ends with a great solo by Frida
Andante Andante
is one of the songs that ABBA recorded in Spanish in this album,
together with "Happy New Year"
Many years later, in 2016, Frida recorded it in Spanish as a soloist, at her 70 years,
accompanied by Arturo Sandoval.
(oddly enough, before the ABBA reunion)
Here I leave the video to see, with the link:

I wish you a great new week
my best regards from
Buenos Aires, Argentina
South America
Frida has the voice of an angel, thank you for another great video reaction ❤🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪❤️🇸🇪❤️
In my top ten ABBA, pure brilliance from Frida holding that end note.
yea it touch my soul
Her singing is sublime here: able to express a wide range of emotions in a decisively restrained, subtle way.
❤Yes!! I told you this one would be amazing. My favourite Frida's ballad
I am here just wondering if you are aware that Frida is an actual real life princess by marriage??
Her tittle is " Princess Anni-Frid Reuss, Dowager Countess of Plauen"
Well, Bklyn Reau, it looks like you experienced an "eargasm" when you heard Frida's extended high note at the end of the song.😂
😂def did
Omg, I love you! haha! This reaction was everything and beyond. I had a great time, and this has always been such an underrated song, and it's sung so beautifully. Thanks again 🤩
lol thank u!!
One of my all time fave ABBA songs with a gorgeous vocal by our Frida - and she doesn't just hold that last note, she *works* it, yeah! Take a closer listen to the lyrics though; in traditional Swedish fun, it's full of innuendo. "Please don't talk, go on... play; Andante Andante, and let me float away!" (🤔What exactly is he doing to make her float away? 😜)
mmmm u might have a point 😂😂
This song wasn’t one of my favorites at first but it grows on you and now I think it’s definitely underrated. Benny actually bought a boat and named it “Andante”. It’s the same boat they used for the Summer Night City video. Frida crushes it not only once but 3 times. She recorded this song in Spanish as well and recently released it again (in Spanish) back in 2018. She’s got a beautiful voice.
Glad you covered this song. This should have been a hit
Beautiful tender song to fall in love to. Bravo Freda.
Thx! Thank you for your good viral mood .I hope Frida will end up greeting you.😂😘 You deserve it, with all the kindness you say about her.
u welcome! one day i hope so!!! 😂
Oh man you are so funny. You have to meet Frida! A beautiful song, and yes that high note at the end is incredible. Thanks for another reaction.
😂😂Thanks so much!!
Love that song. Nice tribute to Anna-Frid. In the beginning you asked how old she was in that black and white photo. I believe she was 21. She had just won a big singing contest and they brought her to the TV studio to sing it live. She didn't realize they were gonna do that but handled it like a champ. It was a song called En Ledig Dag. You can find the whole performance on UA-cam. It's great and really made people take her seriously. They do a short interview before. Oh and it's in Swedish but still beautiful
Anni-Frid
@@siv-annsjostrom347 oh but says Anna-frid right on the video
@@Vikinggirl1679 You really think her name is Anna-Frid just because the video says so? 🤨
Without a doubt, my favourite reaction to an ABBA song. Pure emotion. Thank you for that. Have you ever seen her singing Dancing Queen solo at the queen of Sweden's 50th in 1993 acapella style. Another beautiful performance.
There it was, Andante!😂😂 you are so cool. Great reaction.❤
You should write a poem to her.
😂 thank u i will
A poster below is right regarding that last note. More than a hold, she us working that note. She changes it's pitch, bending it... Extremely impressive. Sge has got total control over her instrument.
Great song...as always 😍😍😍👌
Bro, what a sick track, man!!! F...k vocals... and f...k slide show... After 50 years or so, they're still the best ones.
One of my favourite songs ever. Great reaction. Can I be so bold as to suggest you take a look at Frida singing Dancing Queen acapella for the Queen of Sweden's 50th birthday? Just type in "Frida Dancing Queen acapella 1993" - you won't regret it!
Another classic reaction!
When you get back on your ABBA 'voyage' good Sir, another Frida solo that never fails to bring a tear to my eye is Like An Angel Passing Through My Room from 'The Visitors' album. It drains me how hypnotically beautiful that song is 🤗❤️
😂😂😂😃😃😃Oh your my favourite music reactor! Now how did you know Frida was gonna open her song with, 'Take It Easy'...lol😂😂😂you sure have something in common with her thats for sure😊...it is such a beautiful song with the most sweet and gentle lyrics...If you love this song, you will love 'Our last Summer' aswell...but this song i love the best...😂😂😂😂oh you got abit of a tune going on yourself there😆😆😆just imagine if you both met in another time, in another place...you both couldve had something going on😉😉😉well i loved your reaction today😊cant wait for the next one😀keep it up and se again soon bruh😁
ohhh im ya fav now???😂😂 thanks for always watching lol
The black and white photo at the start is from Frida’s first tv appearance, she’d just won a contest. I think she was about 22. Her vocals are insane, and at the end she hits the moon! Here’s a link to the video, wait til you hear the questions the host asks her….she has so much dignity, I’d have been stunned❤️

Hahaha😂 ❤️! Your amazing and sooo fun 🤣☀️
Thank you!! 😁
Abbasolutley beautiful 💕💕💕💕💕💕
yes it is always!
Benny and Bjorn always pull it off, but Frida and Agnetha blend it in, ever so exquisitely ❤. Glad you felt it! It is a beautiful song. Please review her Spanish version with Arturo Sandoval. It's cool too!
thank you so much sir im just honor by respect by my mom and dad im usually proud that their generation before raise me

HaHa - Your video made me laugh so much !!! You have great taste in music and women !!! :)>
Thanks 😆
You don't believed, but...the spanish version is more 🔥🔥🔥
(you know what i mean)😅😅
See you tomorrow, Brook
❤️🇨🇱👍
You really really need to listen to this in Spanish ❤
I definitely will
I don't think it would make for a decent reaction video (not that kind of song) but one you might like to listen to on your own is Frida singing the poignant, "Like an Angel passing through my room"
My brother please react to I Let the Music Speak, Frida leads that song completely from beginning to end
thank u i will
" i like to smoke green"😂😂😂👍👍👍
😂😂😂
Awesome ❤
Whoever made this video tribute you're reacting to should be severely reprimanded. "Anna-frid Lyngastad"??
Man you have to react to Put on your white sombrero, you will love Frida's voice on that song!
yea i gotta get to that one!
About your singing talent one advice; don't quit your day job!😂
If I may give a suggestion, end the week with "like an angel passing through my room" another solo sung by Annifrid, never released as a single, but I real diamant among the lesser known ABBA songs.😂
😂😂😂😂😂 now i gotta make a song
You've got this amazing minus - so now you are OBLIGED to make your own record on it. Collect some words, arrange them into inspiring text - and make a record. Looking forward!👏👏👏
That's a great idea!
Your quite the lyricist, your song might win euro vision.
😂 i should try next year
Its just a message that your get emotional that you did not raise upon what our parents generation before i understand you sir how abba re assemble us upon 90s with our parents
You should release your excellent song at the 7 minute mark as a single :) You could call it 'Save the Animals And Stay Clean'

I really wish that you meet the girl. That you Will fall in love so hard 🥰. Like Frida and you . Best wishes from Sweden 🌈🌟🙏🏻🇸🇪!
I hope so too
Dia duit! Conas ata ABBA?😉
You need to go nd do a bit of DIY with your right hand if you get my meaning, 😅😂
😂😂😂😂 tryna take a break on the hand lol
Check your spelling of the song in your title.
Fixed! TY
Oh Diego, you're so wonderfully British, love you too Bklyn-reau😘❤️ :)
