      Rovanpera is doing full season. Ogier is competing part-time.

      Rovanpera is back full time, he's only taking a small break in 2024.
      Ogier will always be doing a limited program nowadays since he's practically "retiring" from a full time rally season.

    I would have thought that these 2025 cars are going to slower than last year's where they were running 500+ bhp.
    Lighter, yes, but still about 130 bhp down and a smaller air restrictor?

      50kg lighter. Hmm
      The Peugeot 205 T16 Group B car had a minimum weight of 890 kg and was part of the 2500 cc class in Group B.
      T16 290kg lighter!

      205 and other group B cars were absolutely unsafe. Crashing with it would kill you easily. Modern wrc are crazy strong and ensure driver protection really well. I'd rather have 250kg heavier car and keep our drivers alive. Sturdy cars come with weight. But life should not be traded for performance.
      BTW non hybrid cars are in fact 87kg lighter.

      Would you rather hit a tree at 130km/h with a WRC or a group B car ? They did not stop the highly popular group B for nothing. And by the way modern WRC are a lot faster than group B cars except for absolute speed. Even acceleration is better since Traction is vastly superior. The only thing that is missing from group B is engine architecture diversity ...

    I want to make a case for hybrid cars in WRC:
    If they're gonna do hybrid they should have electric and combustion power on either axle, that makes a new technical challenge, hybrid power plays more of a role in controlling the car, and the weight of the prop shaft can be used for the battery/accumulator and motors so there's no weight deficit.
