For those that take this literal children's cartoon weirdly serious. The more you complain about us questioning things in the show the more we do it. We actively bring it up more often on purpose specifically to annoy you. In fact we have encouraged Erik to do it more specifically because of your comments. Thanks for all that extra engagement! The death threats a few weeks ago was a bit much though, please get some help
I mean i think it’s annoyingly hilarious…but getting death threats over it is insane.
You guys don’t have to act on it at the same time…especially for like newcomers yknow? They wont get it and think yall are actually stupid instead of *sorta* stupid as your channel name implies lmao
sending death threats over grown men watching a children’s Tv show is the saddest thing ever
Death threats?!?!
We’re just memeing you and you’re memeing us back. It’s cool
While I personally find it annoying, it’s your channel and you do you. Death threats is insane tho XD
Fun Fact: “Suds” was actually recorded when Tom Kenny was actually sick but still powered through his lines. Despite the studio saying it was ok for him to rest and get better. Tom decided to use it for his advantage to record his lines as Sick SpongeBob.
And I think that was him in the shower with the sponge on his back 😂
Talk about authenticity. The things that people do in order to make their performances as convincing as possible, that is dedication!
What a fucking legend
Interesting fact. There's a reason why Tom Kenny is one of the talented voice actors😁
God bless Tom Kenny, although a bit messed up he risked his health like that.
"My leg" always gets me everytime, the best running gag, along with the random explosions.
I’m going to tattoo the my leg fish and the frase on my leg
SpongeBob characters always did randomly detonate didn’t they?
ma leg!
Fun fact: Contrary to what you see in "Suds," if you leave a refrigerator open in an insulated room long enough, it will actually get _hotter._ Heat from the room will enter the fridge, making it warmer, which requires the refrigerator to release more heat via its compressor to keep its inside cool. The heat released by the compressor is then released to the room, heating it up.
An episode where Mr. Krabs actually shows some kindness by letting Spongebob go home and not mentioning money at all.
Except he kinda has to since... he's sick
@@Misto_deVito6009Hey, from him we may as well take what we can get. 🤷♀️
Now THAT'S what they need to question lol
I mean having spongebob sneeze on the food was losing him money so it was both
@@davidhanson9280right before he sends spongebob home krabs says the sneezing on the food and customers run out so he sent him home for the money.
18:35-18:37
I can't stop laughing when Patrick is wearing an executioner mask and Spongebob is tied onto an medieval torture rack
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Watching it as a kid: 🤷♂
Watching it as an adult: O_o
I love everyone’s reaction that that scene lol
I didn't realize in my teens that it was a torture rack, but instead thought it was some weird BDSM thing 😂
5:42 Seahorses exist in Spongebob and appear in future episodes. They literally act like horses and are not talking people.
The comments whenever they ask about how stuff works about the show: "HOW MANY TIMES DO WE NEED TO TEACH YOU THIS LESSON OLD MAN?!"
Not only is he trying to make sense of a cartoon, he’s trying to make sense of a dream inside of a cartoon.
These kinds of people vote. That's a depressing thought.
Tbh the depressing thought is those of you who can't tell when someone is joking vote. You do all realize that he specifically keeps doing it because it gets you and people like you to whine in the comments and that gives us more engagement
We talk about it quite a bit before we hit record. We've even encouraged him to do it more specifically to annoy people like you lol
@WaterWhale2 yall real complaining about 4 people that are providing you wit entertainment
@@Xeroforteits not that big a deal brother
@@Xeroforte🤓
He's right about that Captain Planet episode where a teen overdosed on drugs and dies onscreen. Heck, one of the planeteers accidentally gets addicted and tries to fight the others to keep the drugs because the withdrawal symptoms are horrible. But she can't use her powers anymore because she's now supporting pollution. "Mind" pollution.
There's also an episode in that same season (season 3) where they focus on a teenager who has AIDS. Looking back on it now that I'm an adult, I had no idea that Captain Planet's episodes focused on such intense issues. I guess Cartoon Network went back and kept those episodes from airing.
Linka's cousin
Weird piece of lore 4:41 “beware of your wandering eye” is actually a reference to the song “The Mollusk” by Ween on the album of the same name; that album was a huge inspiration for the creation of SpongeBob. Ween also did a song for the show but thats in a later episode
Ween also made "Ocean Man" for the movie, too.
@@jimmydeedoii6135 Yup. Their most popular song now. (they also did the loop de loop song, i think specifically for the show)
“The Paper” episode is one of the rare ones that’s shown on tv because it’s right next to the Valentine’s Day episode, which is exclusive to the holiday itself. So, you’d have to be lucky to catch that episode on tv. The other alternative would be a streaming service, like Paramount+.
Or when they have an extra 15 minutes after a movie presentation
I saw the paper episode many times as a kid, but the Valentines day one literally never. The first time I ever saw that episode was in like 2017 or 2018 and I'm convinced that episode never existed until that point in time. Feels like a mandela effect lmao
@@bullworthless Same here! Saw it for the first time around the same time as you, if i remember correctly. I was an avid spongebob watcher. Both as a kid when they first aired, and as a bigger kid when the reruns were on. So it's not like I wasn't watching for some period (besides when I grew out of kids cartoons)
In South America this episode was pretty normal thou. I watched the paper and Valentine’s Day thousands of times as a kid between 99-05/06
I always watched the Valentine's Day episode on Valentine's Day on Amazon Prime.
The fact Ruff got away with that chocolate starfish line is wild
I'm glad we finally got to lay the spongebob feet drama to rest, also I think the guy in the shower is Tom Kenny.
Old SpongeBob has a lot of joke the use real life footage of Tom Kenny and I kinda miss them.
I think the symptoms SpongeBob got was 1: Shivering and Freezing
2: Sneezing Bubbles and Greyish Yellow Skin
I love that the first time Bob takes his shoes off to sleep he keeps the rest of his outfit on.
Little fact about "Suds" is that Tom Kenny (the voice of SpongeBob) was actually under the weather while recording voice lines just like SpongeBob
He wasn't under the weather he was just sick
@@P4RADISE995 that's what under the weather means
Don't know why, but Erik looks like the type of person you'd see working at Nickelodeon in the late 90s/early 00s.
I just wanna point out that when y’all were wondering when this show first aired, only Bree thought to use the computer sitting in front of her to find out. 😂
That always confuses me when UA-camrs reacting to things to think to use their phones to fact check things lol 😅like there is literally a computer sitting in front of you….why wait for the comments to answer ? Just look it up in the moment
@@MissUnderstood. A phone is also a computer these days, so I get it. Asking the comment section for an answer is also engagement bait, so I get that too. What I don’t get is not even attempting to use the tools you have to answer the question. 😛
Spongbob born July 14th 1986. He is supposed to be 13 when the show came out
i remember one day wondering outloud how does Spongebob afford to pay the mortgage for the pineapple, utilities, cable and phone lines, and all of Gary's expenses when he works a minimum wage job where he's paid in pennies
and my mom said "Maybe Spongebob is a trust fund baby."
_she's onto something there_
"Sleepy Time" confirmed SpongeBob was born in July 1986. Meaning SpongeBob was about 13 years old in season 1. (Which may explain SpongeBob's youthful personality.)
I think they canonized that the dates given for SB and Krabs’ births aren’t to be taken as their actual ages, especially since it’d mean SpongeBob started working a full time job at age 13.
Suds is one of the few episodes I can say is undoubtedly canon. They specifically referenced it in a later season episode Whelk Attack. “After all, I’ve had the suds!” Consistent inconsistency. Suds is also one of the few episodes with Sandy, Patrick, AND Mr. Krabs, but no Squidward.
And sure, toes are alright I guess. Mostly tomatoes.
“A chocolate starfish.” Oh it’s the Great Mighty Poo all over again.
“That’s like an engagement proposal.”
There are a lot of people that say SpongeBob is definitely not straight. I think he’s ace, but just really sweet.
Not sure who would win in a fight, heartbroken Patrick, or Ed (from Ed Edd n Eddy, not Full Metal Alchemist) with a pebble in his shoe.
Squidward has a TV, he just uses it more often in later seasons. Also, Plankton has a WIFE. Not a TV, you misogynistic barnacle-heads (joking, obviously).
The creator confirmed spongebob is ace
Spongebob to Gary: "Mind your wandering eye, you little mollusk"
Gary to Spongebob: "Beware of your wandering eye, you little poriferan"
Tom kenny was actually sick when he recorded the suds episode.
Holy shit, in the German dub during the carnival, when Patrick rips apart the mascot he has a totally different tone. He is pretty low and intense and just goes "Ich töte dich" which translates to exactly "I kill you." Never knew that was different in the American version, lol
the american version is the original version lmao, so you mean you never knew how different the german dub is FROM the american one (the original version)
@@DustUSAlol, thanks mate for clarifying for op that the English original is the original on an English reaction channel. I promise you, no one is forgetting about that, especially since all the on-screen texts in the show are in _English_
All op did was mentioning a dub, explicitly calling it a dub too, and saying that they didn't expect a line to have been different. Why are you that insecure about someone bringing up a dub?
@@CatalinaLinal7710 Wow, you took what i said and amplified it like as if YOURE the one whose upset lmfao, triggered much, there bud?
@@DustUSA not triggered, just highly amused that you felt the need to include the information that the English version is the original twice in one sentence, and completely ignored what op actually said in favor of making a point that is already blatanly obvious to everyone - including op - considering the channel we're on.
If you werent triggered, cool. But your reply reads like you couldnt handle the mere thought of anyone thinking SpongeBob isnt american which is hilariously stuck-up. I didnt amplify anything, that is literally how your comment reads. So I matched the tone.
@@DustUSAObviously everyone already knew the american one was the original. Nobody said or even implied otherwise, you were just being obnoxious for no reason
I can appreciate how simple Patrick's desires are.
12:20 This whole scene reminds me of the Spongebob creatures of the Krusty Krab video game. In that game Plankton became ginormous, shot lasers from his eye and destroyed the Krusty Krab.
The game designer probably took inspiration from that scene (or really the whole episode, given that Creature From the Krusty Krab is also about shared dreams)
You ask where the cheese in the Krabby Patties are, when really you should be asking “Where are the pickles?!” 😂
I really appreciate the Valentines Day episode because it shows that platonic love is just as important as any other kind, which I think we don’t talk about enough on Valentine’s Day.
Happy to see this series still going. Would be cool if it continued all the way through the first movie.
Patrick: "Aww Spongebob, you didn't have to get me anything."
3 guys: "WHAT!!"
1 woman: *laughing menacingly*
The SpongeBob treatment remains hilarious and a classic, and sleepy time is one of my all time favorite episodes, it’s such a great concept
38:52 So if that trashcan was there the whole time...then Squidward could've avoided all this if he had bothered to look around and taken only a few steps from his lawnchair. 🍬
I absolutely love how y'all try to rationalize the absurdity of these episodes 😂
It's annoying
@@omarvazquez4075cry harder
"This is my carnival, everybody out!" This is giving me Cartman Land vibes LOL!
12:46 i just made a funny comparison. remember when karen analyzed plankton and he was "1% evil genius, 99% hot gas"
It doesn’t really bother me that you guys ask questions but I more find it hilarious that 2 grown men are asking questions about a dumb cartoon about an animate sponge who can literally pull on the fabric of reality to a point to where he destroyed reality lol
The scene of Mount. Climb up and fall off is personally the best part of the Valentine's day episode
9:27
Captions are actually wrong here.
It’s actually “para…. medic.” Because Sandy pulled her chute too late
It seems Spongebob is 15/16(DOB: July 11th, 1986) and Mr. Krabs is 59/60(DOB: November 30th, 1942. And the show takes place in 2002 because of the expiration dates labelled as 02 and 03.
Seahorses are the equivalent of sea... horses. Patrick is just riding a horse. But i get the confusion, what is vs is not an animal vs a humanoid in this series
Spogebob's license showed '86 as his birth year. Which means hed be 13...but the creator said that he is 50 in "sponge years" so. Tl;dr we will never know how old spongebob actually is
On SpongeBob's finances:
"I was watching SpongeBob SquarePants with my cousin [...] and halfway through the show, I am fuming because all I could think was, 'This sponge owns his own pineapple??' And then he went upstairs and I'm like, 'This sponge owns a two story pineapple?!? Oh, he must be a lawyer.' He's NOT a lawyer. He works in a fast food restaurant! SpongeBob has family money, I am telling you. He changed his name to be more working class but his real name is SpongeRobert RectangleTrousers." - Alex Edelman
SpongeBob is for sure swimming in generational wealth and probably tax fraud/evasion.
Funny thing is, SpongeBob doesn't even get PAID to WORK. You can see his money comes from the pockets of his parents 100%
2:17 confirmed, spongebob is 37 years old today, his birthday is July 14, 86. So he was 13 years old when he started working at the Krusty Krab .. :/
If an adult asks questions a kid would give a simple answer to. Then who is smarter, the kid or the adult?
assuming adult already knows the answer, the kid.cause if he didnt,he couldve just asked another adult.
I remember as a kid I was genuinely terrified to leave the fridge open due to Suds
25:10 I just remembered that I vehemently questioned how sandy could open her helmet to lick the chocolate bubble from Spongebob. Memory unlocked!
For some reason the episode where spongebob gets sick always scared me. It had a eerie vibe and made me feel unease with that christmas music
"I see you.....ZAP!"
"MY LEG!" 😂
SpongeBob was born 7-14-86 according to his first drivers license photo from season 1
Starfish have suction cups, that's how Patrick sleeps on the underside of his rock.
Don't forget - They underwater. Ergo, the fridge's cold air could chill the water around to such a frozen state quite easily.
To give Patrick SOME credit in the Valentine's episode, he snapped at the fact that it really looked like he was THE ONLY ONE not getting a gift. Even though you ARE right that he technically got a free trip to the park.
Dip your feet in lava, "it's just feet."
I was 12 when this show came out. I loved it
The valentine's day episode was actually the very first episode of spongebob I'd ever seen!
When I was really young and saw this episode, I always thought that leaving your fridge open would ACTUALLY make your house freeze over😅
32:43 I'd have been mad too, best gift ever you get a handshake but a stranger hets a new bike
In this episode, SpongeBob’s birthday was July 14, 1986. Literally 2 days older than my brother 😂
I loved this episode so much as a kid. I always wanted to have a dream like SpongeBob
Love the spongebob reacts keep them comin LMAO
I really want to see Erik's reaction specifically when you guys get to the episode "Idiot Box". Also, when will you guys react to more Pokemon movies?
i just fast forward everytime ken doll over there tries to explain, never change erik
Just what I needed to close the night 😂🎉
10:52 This episode aired in 2000, so Mr. Krabs would have just turned 57 the previous year.
Seeing the last episode so many times, I’m just now realizing SpongeBob’s paper plane shot the rubber duck that floated in Squidward’s bath before going back out the window. 😂
Look, it’s just annoying when he’s like “why is this cartoon not obeying the laws of physics?”
No. No it’s not…. Stop acting like a Child…
@@boriss7318 I’m acting like a child by finding something annoying? Dude, they’re literally watching a children’s show
@@PatheticApathetic so what? Just let them Watch it, the way they want to Watch it.
@@boriss7318 I’m not stopping them, but you know this is a show, right?
@@PatheticApathetic Yes. I do.
And do you know that aswell?
You are the one, wachting a reaction and conplaining….
For those who don’t know, SpongeBob was born July 14th, 1986
That can’t be right if the show started in 99 unless the show wasn’t set in 99 and was later cause SpongeBob was an adult when the show started.
"check the credits" thats a new one
I love love myself but I think Valentine's Day cheapens it unforgivably by commercializing romantic love. It's not like Christmas where it was started with good intentions. It was always a materialism based holiday. Halloween and Christmas kick its ass.
CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO SEE SEASON 2
people take a long look at spongebobs license
He was born in 1986...
Lol you guys have sick thoughts with the SpongeBob clarinet scene
Yessss more SpongeBob from my favorite youtube channel
1:39 Something tells me he would love Courage the Cowardly Dog
This episode "Sleepy Time" was inspired by the level "SpongeBob's Dream" from the Battle for Bikini Bottom/Rehydrated game
25:33 I wish this episode was SpongeBob and Sandy to develop them into a boyfriend and girlfriend relationship.
bro what
4:41 oh of course the mollusk would make a reference to a wandering eye. To the very few people in the comments that get this reference, I appreciate you. Your taste in music is good. Stay brown.
23:44: Oh! Is this THAT episode where Patrick goes crazy!?
26:03: YUP! XD
What i love is that before i watched SpongeBob i didnt know scallops could swim. Which is why in the show they're like the equivalent of birds
Mr. Krabs was 58 in Season One.
Oh my god it’s so exhausting to see someone try to put science into a cartoon when the show is meant to be a love letter to both comedy cartoons, and surprisingly, accurate, marine biology, but only vaguely
3:25 Soooo... who wants to tell him that was the expiration date? His birthday was on the bottom right and is July 14, 1986.
29:45 Speaking of how rich Spongebob is reminded me that he has the fastest calculable speed in all of the Death Batlle series, It's one of their best episodes too. Maybe you could react to it after you watch the movie.
Can't wait for "Sailor Mouth"
dan snyder's only involved if it's underaged girls' feet.
At the end of "SUDS," Patrick got it bad. 😂😂😂😂😂
What happened to Patrick at the end
Spongebob is so nice and also he's a sponge they clean with a sponge that can make him feel better
I like how he does that voice when he told Sandy the plan
If the license was accurate, I was born 13 days before Spongebob turned 5.
I love spongebob I have been watching it for 11 years straight and still do occasionally
I have never seen the Valentine’s Day episode, ever… that’s nuts
It’s crazy because I hardly remember ever watching episode 16, I feel like it wasn’t re-ran on TV often
Humanoid Gary will always be weird to me lol
14:37 Funnily enough, this isn’t even the first cartoon episode to have a house freezing over with a piece of Tchaikovsky’s ballet music.
(The first one being _Tom & Jerry,_ and they used that famous waltz from _Sleeping Beauty,_ which many know as “Once Upon a Dream” from the Disney version.)
I remember that episode it was so fun
@SortaStupid I love it when you question things and bring logic up. It's what makes reactions interesting . Otherwise, it's just watching you watch SpongeBob which is boring. Keep up the good work 👍
Great reaction you guys
Far too much time spent asking silly questions about cartoon logic. Come on guys, just shut your brains off. It’s bloody SpongeBob SquarePants 😂
So, there’s a theory that Mr Crabs killed Pearl’s mother during some old war, and his “Moby Dollar” dream is him reminiscing on that moment. Also….. wonder what could be in krabby patties…..
Hopefully you guys will be back to Amphibia in a bit.
