Your daughter is good to you. She seems happy to be with her dad, which is great to see. I don't blame you for getting out the angry grinder though...more fun! It amazes me how they got all the lovely curves in the steel plates when they built the boat... I don't know how they do that. One thing popped into my mind after an earlier episode is to consider to make the steps up for the side decks as a box for small items with a lifting lid. Maybe as a winter project and to help it match the rest of the boat you could make a couple of such boxes out of varnished teak?
that's a good idea but it needs to be carefully crafted and over thought, since all the water on the bow and whatever the wavebreaker throws backwards is rushing off these steps.
It's really nice to see how you're refurbishing your boat. I have a boat myself, a cutter yacht motor sailer. I'm learning quite a bit from you. I have some tips for you: you can weld with a transition electrode 308 on old steel, which welds better, and you can use a spoon to apply filler in the corners for a nicely finished look. Regards, Coen. Have a good one and godspeed.
@@CDeck76 thank you very much for your advice, highly appreciated. that's the info I'm after... I use a hydro blaster to reduce the amount of dust for my neighbours ... and I bought it second hand of a fade cleaning company.
Love following this project, it's a beautiful looking boat and well worth saving! Just a small word of caution, when using an angle grinder on the rust, if it's windy and in the wrong direction if you've neighbouring boats, if it settles on them it's an absolute nightmare to get off, you'll be very unpopular!🙈
Your daughter should share experiences with Blimp in Bergen Norway and his daughter Sahra who helps and films him rebuilding his Fisher motor sailer..though thats GRP.

You are making sound progress, nice to see your daughter wanting to be involved, however stuffing her into an unventilated compartment is not wholly motivating.😉👍⛵️
you look so young to have such a beautiful daughter. lucky man
my looks may be deceiving , those of my daughter definitely don't. ;)
Love Holland. "If it's not Dutch it isn't much."
Hahaha! Nice one!
@@BoatProjectY That a great boat... will be watching.

@BoatProjectY unless you put good sizes hole in the bulwarks either side of the wavebreaker as previously mentioned

What kind of facade blasting machine do you have, and with your experience, what do you recommend and where can I buy such a device?

even though the neighbouring boats will look better with a covering coat of rust dust. you are right. I should take care of that.

You could look at fitting light prisms into the deck
looking into it. thanks
Wouldn't mind longer videos
Maybe later in the year. For now I’m combining a full time job with the editing and the rebuild. So plenty of stuff going round…
Again a lovely video!!
Thanks
Project Y, am still surprised you haven't gone to a Tercoo for rust/paint removal. tungsten carbide teeth in a hard rubber disc chucked into a drill 😉
I did , you'll see In a future video. not too pleased with it though....
A closed compartment, like here in the bow, can be risky due to the lack of oxygen caused by rust processes. Please be careful!
Don’t worry the safety of my daughter is paramount
👍🌟👍
Thanks!
Does the headline mean ‘off’ the bow or “of” the bow. I guess the result is the same.
the result is the same. but it should have been 'from the bow'
Fiberschijfjes k24, probeer die eens op je haakse slijper. Dat zet zoden aan de dijk!
how, dat kende ik niet. gebruik je het om te slijpen of the schuren?

Jawadde.
I hope you will reinstall teak deck on our boat.
ABSOLUTELY , it's just too gorgeous,.
