AH TORGHAST! Wow. Man I swear, this thing was the one of the most interesting concepts when it was being hyped up before Shadowland's release. I was genuinely very excited. What I imagined was something along the lines of Binding of Isaac that just felt like doing Maps in Path of Exiles or the equivalent in Diablo. I think this had and has great potential but I'm sad to say that I feel it's lacking right now.
Right now it just kind of feels like a slog to me. I'd only go there for my required weekly run, get my soul ash and then stack that soul ash for an eventual legendary that honestly didn't inspire me much. I remember thinking to myself "man I've already done my weekly torghast run but I really want to just run it a bit now for some extra rewards". Those rewards could be for example: transmogs, pets, toys, actually useful gear and other things. Honestly, I'd be much more excited to spam it for things like that rather than soul ash. Not to mention how boring and slow it is to run solo (not that it looks That much better in a group). And eventually, at one point, I just stopped doing my Torghast runs. I just didn't care anymore and still don't. I think this is super sad but I'm still hopeful that this can be a very important addition to the game that shapes future end-game content.

If you were a Torghast employee, how would you torture your captives?

Honesty? I'd torture them by making my captives grind Silithid Carapace Fragments for a few hundred years.

Not for me. I haven't touched this trash in years. This crap is so far removed from what WOW used to be, they should be forced to rename it to something else.
Is it, though? I had a period of interest in Torghast, but then I just... stopped. I never once kept coming back while hating it. There's nothing for me to do there, nothing to get out of it. So why do it?

Well Titans forbid the players should EVER face even the tiniest inconvenience like their characters being actually trapped in the afterlife or face any real hardships or getting their butts kicked without some gods damned "asspull" and deus ex Machina coming in the last minute to save them or give them a bullsh*t power up to defeat godlike villains or enemies that wield cosmic forces because plot contrivances.

He looks so sad. He's so proud of his tower, but he sits there in hiding listening to these harsh critiques, and each slap just hammers down how disappointed the people are in it, and the he takes it very personally.

I always figured Torghast would torture it's victims by putting them in an LFR Nzoth and not letting them leave until you kill him.

I liked LFR N'Zoth just to see the shit show haha haha. Once I got the lead on a fresh group and killed Carapace one shot and then nzoth on two pulls. On my first kill ever there i got it in like 15 pulls lol (I was a returning player who had never pved)
I had no idea what I was doing and did an LFR to try to get any gear. I think my team was better after the impatient people left and we kept trying.
The real torture was to not put any buff after repeated wipes to make sure it's endless
I’m a semi mythic raider and I just would kick the people who refused to learn and couldn’t do their basic dps rotation, we got it after a few tries

Little did the Mawsworn know but Torghast is intended to torment them just as much as those that are held captive within the very halls, inflicted upon them by the Maw walkers... all part of The Jailer's mysterious plan for payback for the Arbiter eating Zovaal's sandwich even though it was cleared labeled as his... truly his motives are beyond our understanding...

I haven't done Torghast for weeks (months?) on any toon since I got the legos I wanted on them but I still LAUGHED OUT LOUD watching this. That rant at the end was EPIC!

I'm Venthyr since day 1 and I never got my Ember Court enabled because for you to JUST GET STARTED you have to do a RIDICULOUS questline lol
When I got the tutorial it was fine and all, seemed cool, but when I saw that I had to travel the WHOLE fucking Shadowlands to gather shit, invite people and "please" them, I got sick of it.
The single greatest thing wow has brought in the last years is such quality content.

You have to remember that jailer is still chained, now he is trying to get the keys, with one key he moved whole zone to the maw

Well titans forbid players should ever lose to a big bad villain, because that would mean game over and everyone dies horribly or suffers fates worse than death. How else could you possibly make a villain actually intimidating without inconveniencing the players with the possibility of getting their collective shit kicked in for once with NO Deus Ex Machina to save their sorry butts at the last damned minute or convenient power ups crap or assisting entities (demigods, titans ghosts, spirits, wisps etc.) that are JUST powerful enough to turn the tide in the players favor that the villains NEVER seem to account for? I mean players hat losing so they can't lose, atleast not a permanent loss so it's impossible to write something refreshing and changing things up without upsetting everyone so stagnation continues.

I’ve never laughed so hard at a wow video ever in my life. This was pure gold
My favorite memory of Torghast was when my brother(mage) and I(warrior) were going through the tower and my brother got a perk that let him increase our power for three minutes, but would kill us as soon as it ended. He used it for the meme as we beat the boss. After exiting the tower however, it wore off and killed us both. One of the few moments of laughter in the Shadowlands expansion

And the islands were at least colourful and "fun" to look at. And you could mount. And you could complete one in minutes.
Gameplay-wise I genuinely prefer BfA over SL, WoD and Legion. To be fair on Legion, it was mostly because Nazgrim was reduced from loveable badass to a one-note grump.
At least islands were completely optional

I actually really like running Torghast. I find it relaxing, it's perfect for just chilling and watching something on the side while also deluding myself into thinking that im actually being productive 😂

To be honest, I actually enjoyed Torghast. The powers you got from it were pretty interesting and I especially loved how they integrated that into the Tarragrue fight in the Sanctum of Domination raid.
That's not to say it didn't have it's problems. For one, it took too long and could get tedious. Second, the only reward was Soul Ash until the Chains of Domination patch where it gave you some transmog and a few other things. I understand why people hated it and honestly I even found myself calling it "Choreghast" on more than one occasion even though I mostly found it enjoyable.
1:39. Not gonna lie. This was my first night in Torghast when I was BLASTED on whiskey.
