      Don’t buy with 40amp dcdc charger. I had 2 fail in 8 weeks. I then purchased the control hub without charger and have fitted redarc 50amp bcdc charger

    Hi - great video - did you ground from the batteries?

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  День тому

      Hi,
      Thanks for watching.
      Yes there is a black wire from negative on battery but must be hard to see in video as I have conduit all the way and can just see read positive

      @ottouring thank you so much for the reply. We are struggling as our itech mppt says positive ground- yours worked ok on negative ground?

    Looks good apart from the 240V charger will never be recognised by the shunt. Need to move the negative wire to P- on shunt.

      Hi mate,
      Yeah decided for me there was no need to connect 240ac charger to shunt as I know what the input would be. More about the output and usage

      Hi mate.
      Yeah mate I’m happy with how it turned out. I’ve had a number of issues with the dcdc charger though and will be putting in another brand. Yeah I paid full price for it. I won’t be using that brand again in the future though.

    Any issues with voltage drop with the 8b&s alternator cable running back to the canopy?
    I'm getting the same system but have been told to use 4b&s cable.

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  11 днів тому

      I had no issue with cable size , however have had 2 40 amp dcdc chargers fail in 8 weeks.
      I’m releasing video next week on it

    Where did you get the crimper from mate

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  Місяць тому

      Hi, I borrowed it off a mate. You can buy them off eBay.

    Great work Craig. Did you get the itechworld bundle for this? Or did you buy the components individually?

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi mate.
      I ended up with the pack.
      I originally purchased the battery as was advised it would work with my old set up. It didn’t.
      So I ended up getting the rest as a bundle deal. 2 faulty dcdc chargers later and I have a redarc one from a mate so I can finish the trip

    Hi Craig just want to know what size wier you used for your 2000w inverter

      Hi,
      The wire came with the inverter.

      I’ll try and find out what size cable is. I believe most come with correct size cable

      The wire came with my inverter.
      I just looked at itecworld specs and it gives wire sizes on pg16 of the book which can be googled

    Hey mate, just wondering you could send me the name of that yellow crimper you're using? And did it come with a terminal pack? Thanks.

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  Місяць тому +1

      Hi sorry I don’t know the name of it as I borrowed it off a mate of a mate.
      I just had a Quick Look on eBay under crimping tool and you will see them. They didn’t come with the terminals. I ordered a pack of them off eBay. Assorted copper ring terminals.
      Thanks for watching and Hope this helps
      Cheers
      Craig

    nice work , the worst part about these control boxes is you cant see the dcdc lights

      @@ottouringare you saying the MPPT unit on the control box failed 2 times already?
      I just got this setup that’s no bueno to hear 😭

    • @ottouring
      @ottouring  4 місяці тому +1

      @@R1P5 yeah first dcdc charger failed after about 3 weeks. Had to buy new controller box for my trip away due to time restraints and time for warranty claim and then the 2nd unit failed after 1 week.
      A follower who is an authorised installer than checked and confirmed installation was correct and dcdc unit faulty. He supplied me another brand dcdc unit and this has worked perfectly.
      Due to headboard setup I’ve purchased another control box without dcdc and will fit another brand to setup.

      @@ottouring thanks for the reply.. Well guess I better count my lucky stars. You’re the first person I’ve heard come out and say you’ve had dramas . I went this brand as I hadn’t seen nor heard any negative feedback on products. Appreciate your honesty and keep up the great vids 👍🏻
