Comparing with Iron Maiden and Bruce Dickinson is definitely not far off... LOVEBITES has many well known influences from masters of Metal from the 80s and 90s... There are two lead guitars! The star shaped cymbal is a trademark from drummer Haruna. It's cut out of a used drum cymbal...

Pick any song from their catalogue, as they simply don't have a bad song in their ~60 song catalogue of original songs. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Miho left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) They always wear white and gold outfits on stage. In 2018 Asami was interviewed by a French music magazine and said about them, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also we are all small, and the white and gold makes us easier to see on stage" The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. The Bruce Dickinson comparison is spot on. Asami has often been compared to him .To take the Iron Maiden connection further, founder and original bassist Miho (in this video) is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Maiden, and is influenced by his playing style. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She has a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcribed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. Here are a few recommendations for further listening; Break The Wall, Soldier Stands Solitarily, Golden Destination (there is a video that has footage from their 2019 tour of the UK with Dragon Force, including Herman Li as the 'missing sixth member of Lovebites' wearing a white dress) Thunder Vengeance, M.D.O., Scream For Me (live from 'Daughters of the Dawn' "OK Haruna, Give me the beat") For a masterclass in syncronised guitar shredding. Winds of Transylvania (written for a Japanese Anime series VLADLOVE) A Frozen Serenade, Swan Song, with the Chopin piano introduction played by Miyako, Edge of the World, Epilogue. The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice during their 2024 European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen in nearly 60 years of going to music gigs 🐺
You were truly spot-on regarding this incredible band's influences, except they go much further than that to all styles of Rock, Metal, Blues and even Classical music. And yes, this is Metal, comparing overall intensity of this to Hard Rock songs (BAND-MAID are God-level Hard Rock band, for a quick example - their sound is clearly distinct). IRON MAIDEN was a huge initial influence, together with MEGADETH, JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN, and so on... but all those bands are recognized as Metal. This song is an impactful place to start with LOVEBITES, as it blends the Power metal, Heavy Metal and Thrash influences into one exciting package. Got to agree about the Bruce Dickinson parallel for the singer Asami's voice - lofty as that comparison is! Bruce himself has written in his biography about the ability to open up the "vocal dome" in his head that allows to amplify the resonance from his belting to let out the powerful sound. This is what Asami seems to master, with her uniquely (among mostly cute Japanese vocals) strong chest voice, which allows her to sing almost all her lines, however high, without crossing into head voice. What is impressive, that this is a little lady - 4'10" (1m 47 cm approx + high heels) - belting it like the giants of Heavy metal! You will have read a lot deserved accolades for the two jaw-dropping lead guitarists, but let's just add the adventurous bass and the never tiring drumming in there! Because once the guitars are soloing together, the bass - no matter which bassist, although the two come from different musical backgrounds - often takes over the rhythm and goes with the guitars instead of drums, as the drummer is executing crazy fills and rolls while going at something like 200 bpm. 😵💫 The latest Live recordings with the new bassist, btw, have the bass pleasantly audible, which is cool hearing all the wild bits she throws in! In my book, LOVEBITES are "spiritually" close to Prog without being Prog, because they are constantly evolving and trying new things, and every single one of their songs is surprising anew! On details of presentation - the band's image of queens in white - to stand out for their elegance and femininity from the overwhelmingly black-clad Metal crowd, while playing it as heavy as they only want. A truly unique touch, and the cognitive dissonance that creates for many first-comers makes people take notice even more! At the same time, the LOVEBITES visual style is not that of a beauty pageant but more of Greek or Roman deities, as per numerous tasteful details, and they DO play the part, as far as I'm concerned! 😃🤘 Lastly, as in 8:05, when Live, watch out for those moments when the lights turn red - a fun, not-so-subtle tip that something amazing is about to occur!💥 Then, a pair of their songs are staged "red" entirely... you never know.

They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal,hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. LOVEBITES was formed in 2016 by Miho(Ba) and Haruna(Dr), members of the band "DESTROSE", which went on hiatus in 2015.

if it's five maids who have made the rock genre their own, it's these five angels in white and heels who have done the same with the metal genre. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Miho left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
They always wear white and gold outfits on stage. In 2018 Asami was interviewed by a French music magazine and said about them, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also we are all small, and the white and gold makes us easier to see on stage"
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. The Bruce Dickinson comparison is spot on. Asami has often been compared to him .To take the Iron Maiden connection further, founder and original bassist Miho (in this video) is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Maiden, and is influenced by his playing style.

She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcribed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

You were truly spot-on regarding this incredible band's influences, except they go much further than that to all styles of Rock, Metal, Blues and even Classical music. And yes, this is Metal, comparing overall intensity of this to Hard Rock songs (BAND-MAID are God-level Hard Rock band, for a quick example - their sound is clearly distinct). IRON MAIDEN was a huge initial influence, together with MEGADETH, JUDAS PRIEST, HELLOWEEN, and so on... but all those bands are recognized as Metal. This song is an impactful place to start with LOVEBITES, as it blends the Power metal, Heavy Metal and Thrash influences into one exciting package.
Got to agree about the Bruce Dickinson parallel for the singer Asami's voice - lofty as that comparison is! Bruce himself has written in his biography about the ability to open up the "vocal dome" in his head that allows to amplify the resonance from his belting to let out the powerful sound. This is what Asami seems to master, with her uniquely (among mostly cute Japanese vocals) strong chest voice, which allows her to sing almost all her lines, however high, without crossing into head voice. What is impressive, that this is a little lady - 4'10" (1m 47 cm approx + high heels) - belting it like the giants of Heavy metal!
You will have read a lot deserved accolades for the two jaw-dropping lead guitarists, but let's just add the adventurous bass and the never tiring drumming in there! Because once the guitars are soloing together, the bass - no matter which bassist, although the two come from different musical backgrounds - often takes over the rhythm and goes with the guitars instead of drums, as the drummer is executing crazy fills and rolls while going at something like 200 bpm. 😵💫 The latest Live recordings with the new bassist, btw, have the bass pleasantly audible, which is cool hearing all the wild bits she throws in! In my book, LOVEBITES are "spiritually" close to Prog without being Prog, because they are constantly evolving and trying new things, and every single one of their songs is surprising anew!
On details of presentation - the band's image of queens in white - to stand out for their elegance and femininity from the overwhelmingly black-clad Metal crowd, while playing it as heavy as they only want. A truly unique touch, and the cognitive dissonance that creates for many first-comers makes people take notice even more! At the same time, the LOVEBITES visual style is not that of a beauty pageant but more of Greek or Roman deities, as per numerous tasteful details, and they DO play the part, as far as I'm concerned! 😃🤘 Lastly, as in 8:05, when Live, watch out for those moments when the lights turn red - a fun, not-so-subtle tip that something amazing is about to occur!💥 Then, a pair of their songs are staged "red" entirely... you never know.
