LOVEBITES do not have a rhythm guitarist. They have to lead guitarists, and as you will see, they almost always each have a solo in every song. Their harmonised dual solos are a thing of beauty, and require an incredible level of skill to play.
That's good, the more solos in high quality the better. Thanks for watching and more Lovebites coming soon so subscribe if you're interested. Also, any suggestions for a follow-up?
@@SattzFF Why not try one of their heavier songs next? I suggest "Break the Wall", a thrash song which will probably give you some Testament or Slayer vibes, but has an amazing blues guitar solo that is very Gary Moore sounding. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html
@@SattzFF The Lovebites song with the most guitar solos is "Scream For Me". This is a suggested live performance from 2019:
ua-cam.com/video/cG3iD4Hr_jY/v-deo.html
One thing in life I will never get tired of is this song, it's possibly the song of theirs that connects the most people. Such a fantastic composition.
LOVEBITES has two lead guitarists, no rhythm guitarist! And all songs are in English (also "Holy War"), there's only one song with an alternative Japanese version.
Yes, "Holy War" is a good intro, showcasing their abilities, but "Swan Song" is one of the masterpieces by LOVEBITES. There are many more!
The main principles of the band presented by Miho, the founder and first bassist of LOVEBITES, are as follows.
①Heavy metal (basic policy)
②All English lyrics (Miho's strategy for global expansion)
Originally, Asami's purpose in writing English lyrics was a global strategy to perform live in various countries.
By writing lyrics, Asami's purpose gradually changed.
"I want people to enjoy heavy metal music."
"I want the sound to be directly conveyed."
"I want people to think of my voice as one of the instruments."
Miyako's purpose in choosing English lyrics is to pursue the Western aesthetic sense of Western music.
For her, rock music = music of Western beauty.
In a UA-cam content, during a conversation with three Japanese male guitarists, he said that he would not have participated if it had been Japa-meta(Japanese-style metal music with Japanese lyrics).
Since childhood, due to the influence of his mother, he had become familiar with rock music through English lyrics without understanding the meaning, so he may have perceived the vocals as one of the instruments.
③White costumes (Most metal bands wear black costumes, and if these short girls wore black costumes, they would be hidden, so they wear white costumes to contrast and stand out.)
④High heels (to compensate for short height)
Miho also thought about the visual effects on stage.
Asami will modify stage lighting effects etc. on-site.
For white costumes, each person requests their preferences and ideas from the costume staff.
P.S.
Even white costumes can be dyed in many colors with colored lighting.
LOVEBITES' songs cover a variety of metal genres, and the lyrics and songs have many different aspects, so the white outfit makes sense.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply.🙏
I look forward to your reaction to the next LOVEBITES.🤗
When choosing LOVEBITES songs, I recommend taking a look at the recommendations from "Wolf Pack."😊
@@SattzFF
If you are trying to make money from Japanese music, please be especially careful not to infringe copyright.
Many Reactors have left React after receiving copyright strikes on Japanese songs.
We recommend pausing the video at 90-100 seconds and inserting a comment or going back in time.
Please continue to react to LOVEBITES.
Many Japanese labels outsource copyright management to a copyright management organization called JASRAC.
Even if something is OK in Reactor's home country, it may be in violation of Japanese law.
🤗🤗👍👍
Got it, usually monetization is not on, sometimes they share or block so it depends on the band. Plus, people complain that I pause a lot so I guess I'm doing a good job lol
17:50 the chanting chorus you hear is a backing track but the audience is also supposed to join in with it.
ALL Lovebites songs are sung in English.
Got it, for some reason I remembered the lyrics being in Japanese, maybe I was mixing bands because there's a lot of other Japanese Rock Bands on the channel, so subscribe if you're interested. Any suggestions for a follow-up?
LOVEBITES are MAJESTIC band!!! Not a songs about warriors, just the ordinary men/women who fight for his/her life!!!
Well said.
I don't know how many musicians on the planet could do what we just watched Miyako do, but I suspect its not very many.
Probably very few, every guitarist has a different style so her tone is unique
@SattzFF Believe he's referring to Miyako being a virtuoso on 2 instruments (piano / guitar). Mastering one instrument is hard enough, let alone 2. When you think of the time commitment it takes.
Lovebites has 2 two lead guitars
LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics & credits:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth
Would you still go on, accusing someone for today
It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been through despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to never care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier
Oh gallant warrior
Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
SOLO: miyako / both
Floating lotus
You are so graceful
Saintly and glorious
Till the end of time
Floating lotus
You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
SOLO: midori [guitar] / miyako [piano]

lyrics: asami
music: miyako

The Chopin piece was originally written as an "etude", which is the classical term for "excercise". It is basically intended to train your - in this case - finger speed and positioning to improve your playing. You will find many an etude that has "graduated" to being an actual performance piece, this being one example.
If you listen closely to the MIyako solo, you will hear some remnants of this etude as well as short takes from Dvorak's New World Symphony, two composers that Miayko hold in high regard.
Some knowledge of history is necessary to understand the meaning of the lyrics of this song.
In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, leading to a revolution known as the “November Revolution,” which ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's representatives presented “Etude OP10, No. 12” in Paris. Franz Liszt, a friend of Chopin, named it the “Revolutionary Etude.
Miyako (guitar/keyboards) composed “Swan Song” based on this “Revolutionary Etude” and Dvorak's “New World Symphony.
Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite “Swan Lake,” based on the historical background of ““Revolutionary Etude.
SwanSong” is a requiem for the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only Love Bites could complete.
In case you are wondering, CC works for music videos on official channels, but not for live videos. This is because they consider it a priority to get people to like the song itself. Their stance is that if people like the song and are further interested in it, they can look up the lyrics at that time.

Every one of the members go the extra mile in their song composition and performance, which is another reason why they are my favorite band. So many great songs, it is difficult to pick what to react to next, I will suggest my favorite performance, which is Frozen Serenade. Thanks for another LOVEBITES reaction! 🤘🐺🤘
Subscribe and leave a like to support the channel, more Japanese Rock Bands as well. Frozen Serenade is probably going to be the next one, thanks.
Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3. Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude"
Both guitarists play rhythm and lead at relevant times.
Haruna "little BIG Engine" drums (4'9"; 1.45m)
Asami "The One & Only Voice" vocals (4'10"; 1.47m)
Midori "Crazy Shredder" guitar (4'11"; 1.5m)
Miyako "The Golden Touch" guitar/piano (5'2"; 1.58m)
Miho "Natural Born Head-Banger" bass (5'1"; 1.55m) 2016-2021
Fami "Shining Fingers" bass (5ft 3in)2022-present

Asami doesn’t just sing, she also dances, she has been trained in classical ballet and she plays piano on a few songs. Also, all the songs are sung in English, including Holy War, it’s just English with a Japanese accent, however, Asami’s English is improving quite rapidly.
Got it, there's more Lovebites and other japanese rock bands coming soon, so any suggestions for a follow-up? Also, subscribe if you're interested
Haruna, 4' 9" aka Little Big Engine. She could power a small town with her energy. Co-founded Lovebites w/Miho.
Midori (blonde guitarist) aka Crazy Shredder, known for her fast solos and fondness of using the Slide and dive bombs.
Miho - former bassist and band co-founder, aka Natural born-headbanger. She brought the heavier, thrash influence to the band before departing in '21.
Asami, 4' 10" vocalist aka One and Only Voice who sings all songs in English. Comes from R&B background and frequently compared to Bruce Dickinson. Her range is unmatched, in my opinion.
Lastly, Miyako (pianist / guitarist) aka the Golden Touch. 8th Wonder of the World with talent that has no limit. Composes the majority of Lovebites' music. She has a YT channel and loves to do gear breakdown and how she composes music vids.
You just experienced a power ballad masterpiece, now get your face melted Testament-sryle. Set The World On Fire live next. 🤘
Interesting, I'll try to remember their names next time, thanks for the info. Any suggestions for a future reaction? If so, subscribe to receive notifications on the video, there's plenty of japanese rock on the channel so enjoy your stay, thanks!
Very detailed and thoughtful reaction. Thank you.

Miyako(G-Key and Piano Black hair)
I have attached the material of Miyako's magic modified DEAN guitar.
[Dean Icon USA Flame Top -Faded Denim]
USA Icon is a passive pickup converted to an active pickup.
Miyako's DEAN Guitar replaced with Fishman Fluence Modern Humbucker Set Nickel pickups.
The rear pickup has been replaced with an Ovaltone ROSSO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (red) and the front pickup with an Ovaltone NERO-鵺-NUE DEVICE (black) condenser.
P.S.
I think Miyako took her left hand off the guitar neck halfway through the piece to cool down.🤗
All the customizations/modifications on Miyako's guitars are done by herself.... she's a tech nerd/geek. For other geeks, it's fun to watch her UA-cam channel videos because she really gets into her equipment and also song composition process. She is also a spokesperson for Dean guitars.
Midori is a spokesperson for ESP guitars. She also has a degree in guitar construction and has at least one of her guitars on display. She also participates in bodybuilding competitions.
When Lovebites was looking for a new bassist to replace Miho, they did a world-wide search. They had hundreds of applicants from around the world. It was open to anyone, regardless of language, geographic location, age, or gender. So it was a very well-thought out process. Miho's departure was for personal reasons and generally, people do not speak about it out of respect for her privacy. Miho is loved and greatly missed by Lovebites fans. ❤
First of all, all of their song lyrics are written in English (with one exception). The recent song Holy War was also sung in English. The singer (Asami) has a strong Japanese accent, so it may have been hard to understand.
Secondly, the roles of the two guitarists in LOVEBITES are both lead guitarists. They switch between lead and rhythm guitar instantly during songs. Some songs in their repertoire have this switching repeated about 10 times. Generally, the solo ends with a harmony between the two.
Midori is super fast, yet shows incredible virtuosity. Miyako is attractive for her precise tapping technique, which she has trained in piano playing. In terms of playing speed, Midori's high-speed playing technique was outstanding in the band's early days. However, in recent performances, Miyako's high-speed technique has grown to be as good as Midori's, which has contributed to improving the quality of the band.

from Nippon *Text using Google Translate. I hope I conveyed my intentions correctly.
Oops, forgat, Miyako does her own arrangements.
Not a cover, Music - Miyako Lyrics - Asami Vocals. Miyako has composed about 50% of the songs and Asami is the primary lyricist.
The Etude is considered to be a very difficult to play because it is left-hand dominate.
Great reaction, thank you. I knew you gonna like it. If you want to see something in similar way, check out song "Lost in the garden" ua-cam.com/video/CX3MzG36Cyw/v-deo.htmlsi=CMZf5QBSXhQGbTpr where beside Miyako's intro on piano, a small part Asami plays on piano too. You almost get the members right. Miyako (dark hair) is the pianist/guitarist, the other one (blond one) is Midori.
If you want to enjoy the blues elements of guitar, I recommend "Edge of the World". There are two live videos available online (2020 and 2023 versions). Each has its own highlights, so you can enjoy either one. What I find attractive about this song is that you can feel the singer's (Asami) superb singing ability, and Miyako's beautiful solo that sounds like "the guitar is speaking human language".

Understood, I'm going to check out eventually so subscribe if you're interested.
The singer Asami does occasionally play the piano on a couple songs, though Miyako is the main pianist. Also, there is no rhythm guitarist, as Midori and Miyako are dual leads. There are some songs, like this one, where Miyako (dark hair, piano and guitar) handles the majority of the solo, and there are a few where Midori (blonde hair) does the majority, but on most songs, they split them about 50/50. Miyako, as you noted, has a lot of blues influence in her playing. She is heavily influenced by Gary Moore and Ritchie Blackmore. Midori, conversely, is classically-trained on guitar, so her leads are a lot more technical and have a more classical feel to them. By they way, Asami sings entirely in English on all their songs, including Holy War. Her accent and vibrato can make it hard to understand her, but it is English. The only exception is the version of "Bravehearted" from the original EP, which was sung in Japanese (and is the only song written by Haruna), but then was re-recorded in English for their first full album.
Got it, I don't know why I said Japanese vocals, probably mixed with another Japanese Rock Band on the channel, so subscribe if you're interested. Other than that, any suggestions for a follow-up?
Thanks for the Video👍🦊
In 1972 Deep Purple released
the famos record MADE IN JAPAN . Western Rock ist nothing New in Japan😉🦊
you will learn their names quickly - that is miyako doing the chopin intro . you will notice right at the end of the piece she grabs her pick from the top of the piano and quickly goes to the guitar. a virtuoso on both. she can also play bass and drums and does beautiful backup vocals in a few songs. a musical savant of the highest order. a bit of respectful criticism - you may consider making a couple of pauses at certain points to voice you observations - but not during guitar solos - as opposed to talking over the music. it makes for a better reaction.
Got it, didn't know Miyako played many instruments, there's more Lovebites and other Japanese Rock Bands coming soon so subscribe if you're interested. Also, any suggestions for a follow-up?
@@SattzFF OK just subscribed. to be honest - this may be the only band i've ever heard with NO bad songs so any one that you pick will be amazing. you started heavy with 'holy war' and then went less heavy with 'swan song'. they are all over the musical map with each song having a special vibe of it's own. i would recommend 'a frozen serenade' next to see the full potential of what these very special ladies are capable of. more keyboard by miyako , spanish acoustic guitar by midori and some beautiful snow ballet by vocalist asami. another perfect song by LOVEBITES - here is the link : ua-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/v-deo.html
Also, by pausing instead of just speaking over, it breaks up the song and reduces the possibility of getting copyright strikes against you. As Doc mentioned, really DO NOT pause during the guitars solos, because there are many people who do not like that and will blast you if you do it! 😝
I like that when you paused, you would go back to repeat a portion of the song. I really like this method, because then the viewer can get back into the flow of the song. Sometimes, by continuing at the point of the pause, it can break up the mood that the music was creating at that moment and makes the song sound disjointed and jarring.
🐺🐺🐺🤘🤘🤘
You should've made that super long speach that you made at the begining of ending piano after the song had ended. That was the climax of the song. Iron Maiden can't play the last part of this song. Study the background story of Chopin Revolutionary Etude, under what situation the piece has been writen by Chopin, and think about the lyrics. There is a meaning.
Now I think I get it, but there's certainly more to understand. What's your interpretation? Any suggestions for future reactions? If so, subscribe to know when the video comes out, thanks!
You've mentioned Iron Maiden so many times in relation to them that I'd like to offer you a song that's really a tribute to an Iron Maiden song and the band. You'll probably recognise which song I'm writing about. ;)
