- THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “LIVE IN COLOMBIA” - AVAILABLE AS DVD, BLU-RAY, 2-CD DIGIPAK, 3 VINYL GATEFOLD AND DIGITAL
On the evening of August 31st, 2013, a large crowd gathered at Parque Pies Descalzos in Medellín, Colombia. When Alan Parsons appeared on stage, along with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra and his band the audience went wild. This is an audio visual document of that incredible evening.
THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT “Live in Colombia” is available now on earMUSIC as DVD, Blu-ray, 2-CD digipak, 3 x Vinyl, and download.
Alan Parsons was 19 years old when he landed a job at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, an important first step on his journey to becoming a world class engineer, producer and artist. Following his beginnings with George Martin and The Beatles, his contribution to Pink Floyd’s classic ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ earned him worldwide attention. As a producer he had many hits with Pilot, John Miles, Ambrosia and Al Stewart. Together with his manager and creative partner at the time, Eric Woolfson, he developed the Alan Parsons Project.
Following their debut album “Tales Of Mystery And Imagination“ (1976), they released a series of hit albums; namely “I Robot” (1977), “Pyramid” (1978), “The Turn of a Friendly Card” (1980), “Eye in the Sky” (1982), “Ammonia Avenue” (1984), “Vulture Culture” (1985), “Stereotomy” (1986) and “Gaudi” (1987).
Then Parsons and Woolfson called it a day, but Parsons had ambitions to perform the amazing music live. Now to the great delight of his fans, for the first time on a live video and audio recording, THE ALAN PARSONS SYMPHONIC PROJECT combines the talents of his amazing band with the lush sound of a 70-piece symphony orchestra, creating a very special show with unmatched quality. Together, they revitalize hits such as “Eye In The Sky“, “Don’t Answer Me“ and “Sirius“.
The lineup consists of Alan Parsons on acoustic guitar, keys, and vocals, P.J. Olsson (lead vocals), Alastair Greene (guitar, vocals), Guy Erez (bass, vocals), Danny Thompson (drums, vocals), Tom Brooks (keyboards, vocals) und Todd Cooper (saxophone, guitar, percussion, vocals). Alejandro Posada conducts the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra

A most underrated group of my generation, this tune stands the test of time
It really does, and I am living proof of that -- a Gen Z teen who listens to APP on a daily basis :)
I was about to say same. Born in mid 90s and till today I listen to APP! The true art and music def from 80s
Today,s "music" cant stand beside this masterpiece!
I agree!!
Amen!
😁😁😁😁👍👍👍🐌
A treasure
Al right eighties was awesome
The drummer was pouring his heart and soul into this concert.
Там все стараются. Все молодцы.

Got to shake the man's hand after a show one night and thank him for his much underappreciated contribution to music.
The man is brilliant and doesn't get the praise he deserves.
I believe he produced Dark Side of The Moon , So that's the proof.
Ah, but don't forget the other half of APP: the late great Eric Wolfson (so?).
agreed.
He is praised by the right public, like us , that is it!
Agreed. What a talent.
They say that Alan Parsons is underrated... I dont't know... look at this... the man is there playing and it's 2023 an ppl continues listening.
100%
You have to remember, he’s primarily an engineer/producer/songwriter.. not a vocalist. He is underrated by those that only know this song, or Time, or Sirius… not necessarily the artists he’s produced like Floyd, Al Stewart (he wrote Year of the Cat), Ambrosia.. and when he was just starting out he worked on Abbey Road.
And we will. keep their music alive
The whole "The turn of a friendly card" should be in everyone's album collection
I agree
Can I just say that the drummer is absolutely sick?
You can
Yes but he already saw a doctor.
He's sick best drummer I ever herd
Yeah he ain’t bullshittin’.
👏👏 That drummer...that band...that orchestra...that arrangement...that sound engineering...
Why is this performer not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
TRRHOF is a joke, most of the performers they nominate do not even play Rock music, it's whoever sells the most records.
@@alcahallic4526Sadly true. There are a few exceptions, but not many.
Alan Parsons is incredibly brilliant!! He appears very low key…humble.
Love these songs from back in the day. Brings me right back to the best of times 💟
That drummer is a MONSTER. Love watching him work!!!!!!!!!
agreed
Is it me or does it seem like their music was 50 years ahead of it's self? Not what you would expect in that era. Incredible music, honor brite.
Reminiscent of Pink Floyd only better!
This was 1980 so more like 40
@@Luke-1296 I'm sticking with 50 years ahead of their time. I don't think we've caught up to it yet.
@@Luke-1296 ... I think around 1983 before "music video television MTV!" So 30 years but ... a little behind the late 1970s or end 1979's "Roller Disco Era" this music style would have been. It's an active hard rock to Disco tune made for people listening to music and rollerskate (or would be nice dancer or ice skater's choice music)!
Lo que sabía y tenía en su cabeza Alan, no lo tuvo nadie jamás. Genio visionario.
this is what being good at music means
Every guitar solo in every Parsons' Project song was always a delight to hear.
And remember Eric Woolfson!
Rob if you like the guitar solos , don't know if you heard this one.. Look up the vid APP Live from Madrid 2004.. The solo has a great supprise at the end of it.. One of my favs!!!!
Cómo podríamos olvidarlo! Yo escucho Time cantada por él también. Su trabajo también fue grande. 💕 💕
And how about that Sax solo in “Don’t Answer Me” from this same performance! Even in this song.
RIP Eric Woolfson... he passed away long before I had ever heard of the Alan Parsons Project, and yet it still saddens me to think of such a great singer being gone from this world forever. Still, I'm happy that his spirit lives on in me and anyone else who has ever listened to one of his songs and liked it
I miss Lenny here.. He is the fire to this song.... The song is on loop all the time for me... Saw the studio video for the first time on You Tube and Lenny was singing.... I was really hooked on the song even more....
I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, thank you Alan Parsons for your production of this tune. But Lenny is sorely missed in this version. He really brought fire to this song, as you said.
agreed. it's just not the same without Lenny Zakatek!
@@yvonnec1365Yeah.. but then again it’s live… I like Lenny’s vocals better but being live makes up for it.
LIVE and still sound fantastic.. Love Alan Parsons!! Here in 2023:)
Timeless Alan Parsons
ALAN PARSONS PROJECT WAS AHEAD OF ITS TIME BACK IN THE MID 70S I LOVED I ROBOT, THIS CONCERT IS GREAT ON BLU-RAY, AUDIO IN 5.1 HD GREAT SOUND, ENJOY N GOD-BLESS.
Alan Parsons is a musical genius! Working at Abbey Road with the Beatles at the age of 18! Just wow!
I'm an old guy now and this is my first time watching and listening to this genius masterpiece. I've always been a huge fan of Alan Parsons Project from the beginning and this brought me to 😢 it was so damn amazing 👏👏👏
The Alan Parsons Project and the Moody Blues are FANTASTIC bands and their music never get old!!!
OMG, my husband's favorite music for his funeral 10 years ago. Fun dreams as I float. Still have kitty Cosmo. I've had a lot of deaths within a month. Grandma, uncle & 2 friends from school. I'm 50 now & crap life changes so fast.
The drummer is killin' it!
So glad to be of this musical generation, timeless brilliance
This is R-E-A-L music!!!👍👌🤗👊🥰❤️
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a bad joke when a legend like Alan Parsons is not in it. I'm almost embarrassed to say that I've enjoyed his music since the '70s, and this is the first time I've seen them play. Not unlike ELO, it takes an entire orchestra to make that sound.
The sax and guitar fabulous combination with orchestral backing is so different from the dross of most of today's music....
When this came out, I only had AM radio to listen to, and this was one of the first songs I truly fell in love with. What a masterpiece. The station was the 50,000 watt blow-torch the Big 89, WLS.
Chicago!
I used to listen to John Records Landecker WLS Chicago down in Augusta Georgia. Could pick it up on AM at night. Great music, better times back then.
This is an awesome gathering of musicians. I love the symphonic sound added to this classic 80's hit. Thanks so much for posting! I now have to go buy a new set of headphones!
The symphonic element with Andrew Powell's sublime arrangents was an important part of APP's sound. Espicially on their earlier albums.
But no vocalist where is Lenny
@@alexfernandez6603 There were several vocalists.
Still sound great!
Not the song I was looking for, didn't realise there could be more than one song with same title. Doesn't matter! Means I found another song to enjoy!
You were looking for the Spinners? Both great and different songs ;)
Way ahead of its time, looking back one of the pioneers of electronic orchestral music. The 1982 album by this band is one of my treasured collectors special. Nothing beats this, eye in the sky, I wouldn't want to be like you. 40 years on this is still the future.
P.J. Olsson was an incredible singer and musician. Born of musician parents P. J. was playing violin at the age of 6! Sending to P.J. greetings in the Love and the Light of the One Infinite Creator. Adonai
Good lord, that drummer does not know halfway!!! Talk about energy!!!
More suitable for Cradle of Filth
@@Kaleiddmode do you know what a shit pig is??
Yeah he's awesome
This song is the best ...... for its quality .... and for those who interpret it is a true classic....
One word. Fantastic!!!!
If only Lenny Zakatek made an appearance on here, it would be complete. But hey, they did awesome!
Cuanto tiempo sin oir ese nombre,Lenny Zakateck
My thoughts exactly. Love the one and only Lenny Zakatek!!!
Even as a full-blown Maiden/ Slayer "no-other-music-will-do" fan in my teenage years, I knew this song was a masterpiece. And yes, it still is.
cool that you'd say that.
Loved his music for40 years. BUCKET LIST!!
One of worlds greatest bands combined with an outstanding orchestra. Chills.
One of the best yet most underrated artists of all time
Great tunes from the greatest era in rock and roll. So glad and proud to have enjoyed this growing up in the 80's.
👏👏👏👏👏👏Hey it's Alan Parsons, of course 👏👏👏👏
He just makes it look SOOOOO damn easy!
One of the best groups ever
Growing up with this group was priceless!!! Still listening to it to this day and forevermore!!!
Games People Play ALWAYS sounds great live. I've NEVER heard a bad live recording of it.
Lennnneeeyyyy where iz u bro???!!! 😁😂
I don't know this guys music! I first heard this and other songs 1 year ago. He is brilliant and the music makes me want to dance and run fast.
Loved and jammed to that song, a lot, when I was in the Marines during the 80's. One of my all time faves.... Awesome performance!!
Eric Woolfson would approve
Espectacular Alan Parsons, genial el grupo que inregra, el baterista todo en gral !!! Increible su musica es de otro tiempo !!! 😘😘❤️❤️
This Melody awesome timeless unforgetable bye from France
What an incredible thrill to have been at this concert...wow
Look at that drummer go and bang away!!!!
Love the energy of the band, and the audience! I would be right there with them dancing and jumping up and down!!!
I would have paid big money to have seen this concert. Love The Alan Parsons Project Band.
Best sounding Les Paul I've ever heard!
Sensacional!
Alan never sang on his songs but he is here in concert
What a performance! Such energy, precision and passion from all. Bravo!!
No sé si existe otro tipo de música distinto al Pop que logré esta felicidad. Seguramente existe, pero es extraordinario ver a estos adultos pasándola tan bien!!
ONE OF THIER GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. LISTENING IN 2023.
Your Drummer IS GREAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dedicated !!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Kaleiddmode I don’t see what’s funny you rancid bitch. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
wow ,Im happy I stumpled on this videos < I played this song often on my cassette player in my 1968 mustang fastback & blasted the music as loud as I could what memories !!!!! from DENVER,colorado USA
WOW, full orchestra!
There are a few places and moments in time that I would have really, really loved to have been and experienced. This epic concert is one of them. Absolutely fantastic. Second hand from my computer is pretty remarkable...can only imagine being there in that fortress.
So so so good!
Wonderful. thanks.
Thank you, shared!
I love it when a composer/producer (Alan) steps back and lets the more accomplished musicians take over. Mr. Alan Parson's is indeed a class act.
You know who else does that? Steven Wilson.
And Mr. Elvin Bishop!
So wonderful.
Freaking amazing!
No hay palabras, soy una persona de 66años y aún los recuerdo, y me he tomado unas cheves y al escuchar a esta agrupación chingona por siempre, me tomaré las que siguen. Saludos los de esta época.
Awesome concert and awesome orchestra
Simply the best!
Definitely a favorite...
Maravillosa!
What pure talent
Gold. Just Gold!!
