    I bought this album when it came out. I was in my early 20's with my first real stereo "system" and it was one of my very early purchases. What an incredible masterpiece from start to finish. And as usual for APP, the sound engineering was just head-and-shoulders above the norm for the day.

    • @Alex000113
      @Alex000113 Рік тому

      Yes, all his music is well engineered (eg DarkSideOfTheMoon). For decades Ive been using the opening track from I Robot to test my latest sound system. Turn volume to 90% before starting and sit in the stereo sweet spot with eyes closed.

    This song as well as many others of the Alan Parsons' Project was originally sung by Chris Rainbow. He passed yesterday. His voice in the Project can simply not be replaced.

      I agree. This singer is awful.

    • @veganm8918
      @veganm8918 5 років тому +34

      PJ Olsson is far from awful. Parsons used different singers on so many songs. PJ comes in and sings songs of 5 different vocalists in concert and does an incredible job. I have seen them perform 5 times with PJ and he is one of the best live singers you will ever see in your lifetime. And yes to the original post Chris Rainbow was an awesome and integral part of several Parsons albums.

      I'm sure that Chris Rainbow would graciously praise PJ for his efforts. PJ is amazing. It's rare to see a singer who sings with such emotion and passion. I think PJ is great and hope to see him singing with Alan Parson's Project some day. The whole ensemble of musicians and singers fills my soul with joy.

      Absolutamente en desacuerdo. Aquí está destrozando esta obra maestra que es The Turn of a Friendly Card. No la sabe cantar. No la comprende musicalmente. No le da el aire ni el estilo que esta canción requiere. Ni algo tan simple como la medida y duración de las notas es la correcta. Y por encima de todo eso... ¡ni alcanza al tono de la canción! PJ está acabado desde hace años. Se ahoga, no respira bien, no sube. Síntomas claros de un cantante fumador, algo que jamás debería ocurrir. Es triste porque PJ Olsson fue un excelente cantante en otras épocas, pero ya se terminó.

      Totalmente de acuerdo. Insisto cada vez que hay la oportunidad, me parece fabuloso como, sin dejar de poner su sello personal, respeta y se acerca a los temas originales de APP. Es genial de forma integral; es su voz especial, pero también es cómo siente la canción y lo que hace sobre el escenario.

    Когда музыканты "добираются" до финала композиции, кажется- взойдет огромный солнечный диск над Землей и даст столько света, жизни, вдохновения...Что невозможно это хоть как-то воспринять- а просто раствориться...И перестать быть.
    Еще в СССР, записывали этот диск, фирменный, на кассету. Всегда считал- лучшей записью в своей коллекции. И лучше, до сих пор, нет.
    Необыкновенно!

    I heard Eye in the Sky on the radio about 2 years ago. I recognized it from the 70's and I remembered it was a band called the Alan Parsons Project but I didn't recall any other tracks by them. I decided to have a look around for any other tracks. My son downloaded their discology and I was amazed at how much stuff they had put out. I am putting together a collection of the ones that I like ( love ) and there are dozens of great tracks. I will just mention a few tracks at the top of the list just out of interest and maybe you can do the same and introduce me to some I have missed : Limelight, Since the last goodbye, Turn of a friendly card ( 1& 2 ), Sooner or later, Time, Old & wise, Ammonia Avenue, Silence and I, Fragile, Don't answer me, Dancing on a highwire, Seperate lives, Prime time, There but for the grace of god, I am a mirror.............and loads more. Also, I remember Ian Bairnson as the guitarist with a band called Pilot in the 70's but I didn't realise what a class guitarist he is. The solo's he produces on a lot of these tracks are superb. I'll shut up now............I' a bit obsessed with APP at the moment.

    Excelente actuación chicos, Pj Olsson eres brillante.
    When you go to a concert, the music live is exciting and to make sing the songs, but when there are songs like this, the interpretive performance makes you fly, Just enjoy to listen.
