You look amazing in both dresses! Hope your finger and you have recovered from the ordeal of pulling this off in such a short timeframe. I also love the energy you give in your reveals 😂❤
I've gotta say I actually like the pink banana dress better than the other gown. I don't have the skills to do a bustle dress but if anyone offered me some free silk taffeta, well...how could anyone pass it up? Super cute dresses! 🥰🧡💙
Thank you! After all the struggle, it was definitely validating 😂 And I definitely had fun on stage! People kept coming up to me the rest of the weekend to tell me my hat was "A-peeling" 🤐
I've tried cutting a couple of different back apron/bustle patterns in miniature to figure out how they work and given up each time so you just figuring it out was very inspiring!
Oh no, that must have been frustrating for you!! Glad I was a small help 😁 I definitely think you just gotta get your head up under there and experiment.
🤣🤣 I mean, that's me in a nutshell! Hah! (Although tbh, the Victorians did some pretty wacky shit. I bet if they saw that fabric, they'd be all over it!) Thanks for watching!
@@FantasticalFolliesCostuming That's the thing, I have no doubt that, if that fabric existed back then, it would probably have started a trend! 🤣 Also, that hat is extra! The striped outfit is really awesome, too! I can't believe you made those so quickly. Your video sounded a lot like my internal sewing monologue, though. 🤣
Holy crap you did good! I totally get not wanting to get back behind the machine after taking a needle to the finger. Sometimes you just need to step away from whatever bit you and just cool off for a bit. I guess too much hip pring is as much of a PITA as too little, hopefully you'll figure out how to add a bit more room to the hips for the next time and that you've got enough seam allowance to do it in the existing bodices.
not all of your fans are as critical as you are. If you hadn't pointed out the wrongs, I would never have seen them. I do, however, appreciate just how difficult your craft is. the dresses look lovely. I would have ooh'd and aaaah'd over both of them if seen in person. give yourself a break.
Aw, thank you! I really appreciate you saying that! I don't mind pointing them out--it's not so much being hard on myself as trying to be realistic and honest. There's a lot of artifice in this space and a lot of pressure to look perfect and flawless. I think it's important to highlight the mistakes as well as the successes 😊
Both dresses looked great, and you are my hero for attempting to do two dresses in so little time. Love love love the hat!!!
Hah! Thanks 😆 It was pretty dumb of me, but we made it! And the hat is definitely my fave 🍌
Getting that much done in so little time is one heck of an achievement!
Thank you so much! It was a lot of late nights 😵💫 But I'm glad I got through it!

Aw, thank you. Finger's totally healed, and brain is making it's way there 😵💫😆 And HAH, thanks 😁 Ngl, I do so love to be goofy.
they are both adorable! You did a great job!
Thank you so much! 😊

Cool! I do really love that fabric 🍌 And I'm glad I'm not the only one who would be tempted by that kind of offer! 😆🤐 Thank you!
Congratulations for placing in the costume contest! I'm sure you put on quite a show!

Great job.
Thank you!
For all the trouble it gave you, the banana bustle is adorable. Think it's my favorite of the two.
Thank you!! ☺️
I love how so many people are going for historical accuracy & she decides on... Hot pink with bananas! 🤣 They look amazing!

Woot good job! They look awesome! Very entertaining chaos sewing. Glad your finger is okay. Also you craycray lol. ❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it...and my craziness 😆
For a first time it looks freaking AMAZING
Thank you so much!!
"squishy square" 🤣 as someone who is also hourglass/short-torso, I appreciate this description! 😁
Muahaha. I'm glad the visual worked 😆
I feel you on the 8 shaped and fitting historical clothing
I'm glad I'm not the only one! 😣
@@FantasticalFolliesCostuming I'm also short and that really compressed 8 means some eras just can't reach the ideal look. It doesn't stop me though
Beautiful!
Thank you! 😊
these are so damn beautiful!
Thank you!!

Yeah, and it didn't help that it was like 10 pm when the needle thing happened. I shouldn't have been sewing at all 😖
