The overskirt was worth the pain, It adds that note of whimsy and the horn too. The amount of work you put into this outfit is mind-boggoling! Thank you for sharing and creating your outfits.
TBH - I love chaotic sewists that show that they are consciously making their life more complicated. I feel like it shows risks can pay off, but if someone is inspired - it gives the viewer permission to simplify things. Lowers the barrier to entry.
1: Sparkly bedazzled gold trim = gorgeous. 2: It may have fought you at every turn, but the dyed overskirt was so pretty! It had an almost iridescent-multichrome kind of effect in the end result, which is perfect for a unicorn look. 3: A+ Charlie the Unicorn reference at the end 😉
I absolutely love the dark unicorn vibe! That dress is gorgeous. I’m unfamiliar with the 17th century compared to 18th and Victorian. I really love this whole ensemble.
Thank you so much!! The 17th century is great. Definitely not as much information out there as the 18th/19th, but it's only a matter of time and exposure 😁
You said unicorn and I couldn't help but think about the costume I made for my grandson a few years ago -- A Vampire Unicorn. The dark rainbow vibe of this was SO beautiful! (love the Charlie reference)
oh my Goddess. this is amazing! can confirm that your embroidery dramatisation is exactly how it looks and works in real life😢 😂that's a true sign of friendship, especially since the f*** you wasn't directed at you😂😂 Entendre, you say🤔. I love a good entendre, if it's a double, so much the better😂😂 definitely need a video dedicated to that dye technique! I've done a lot of dying in my time (wow, that sounded bad), but I've never done this before. I love your hair in the reveal! it's really good style.
Thank you!! I'm very proud of it! And the hair was fun and fast to do. And yes 🤣 we've been friends since age 11, so you know, it's all good. Oh god you have no idea how many more I edited out for the sake of YT! 🤐
I stayed in Fort Worth but drove to Sulphur Springs for the eclipse. This was an incredibly amazing eclipse as it had a very long totality and the sun was at solar maximum. Probably the best one you will ever or could ever see!
We had clouds all day and there was a real fear that we wouldn't see it at all. My friend was trying to convince me to drive to the border 😬 In the end, though, skies were clear until totality, which was great! (Then the sun disappeared and we never saw it again lol)
Those colours are STUNNING on you! The fit you so perfectly! It was such a joy to follow this project (with big parts of feeling with you because projects that take over 2 months are TOO LONG) So glad it worked out and is such a sparkly and lovely outfit!
Thank you so much! Jewel tones are definitely my favorites to wear, hah! I'm so glad you enjoyed the process--and love that you feel the same about that. Ugh. It was fun, but it got to be a slog. Thanks for watching!!
@@FantasticalFolliesCostuming My favourite (self imposed punishment) is mixing cosplay plans and historical eras. It's a curse but so amazing. Spend almost a year on a 1550ish Witcher inspired look (still not done with all pieces). And I've tip toed around the 17th century for ages even though I have two big plans and ideas that I REALLY want to create in a mid 17th century style. Soe your videos aren't just amazing but very helpful (and enabling ^^) Thank you so much for sharing and also being so honest in trouble shooting!
Took all my will power to not just skip to the end, your reveals are always so hilarious. Loved the entire video though. Thanks for sharing your struggles and not implying that you made this in a week. The dress is beautiful and your horn is 😘
More stones. More SPARKLE! So shiny and BLINGY (it's a word - the spellcheck didn't flag it). I so need some of that teal/blue for a thing I need in my wardrobe. Not sure what that thing is, but I need it.
LOL! Blingy is totally word! 🤣 And you should totally get some. The camera just does not do it justice, it's so luminous IRL. They're both shot silks--the teal is shot with black, the blue with purple. And I'm pretty sure B&T just restocked them both!
I know it took a long time but it really is gorgeous. I may have to look at doing something similar for a banquet gown. It's a bit late in the century for the society I'm part of but I could make it work. You brought back a very happy memory for me. Me and two friends (one of whom is no longer with us) getting together over a weekend to do some work on 17th-century stuff. I think we went through about 14 bottles of wine between us over the 3 days. Crafting with like minded friends is fun, which is what your channel feels like. 😂😂🩵🦄🍾🥂
Thank you so much! I'm glad it feels that way, and wow, that's a LOT of wine in three days 🤣🍾 And you totally should look into it for a banquet gown! Spread the love lol! (Rules were meant to be fudged slightly...)
Oh, your baroque gown is superb! If you had been at the court of Charles ll. you would have had a hard time keeping the fops away from you. Love the color, the little pearls, the embroidery on the bodice, the peek-a-boo sleeve that shows a bit of your smock and your fab 17th century ringlets. And yes, do a pattern for the underskirt - I would love to have that! If you hadn't mentioned the trouble you had with the dyes, I would never have noticed because it actually looks great. Those pastel unicorns are obnoxious little brats...lol! 🤪 Enjoyed the humor though.🧡💙
LOL bring on them fops! 🤣🤩 So glad you enjoyed it! I did patch up the dye migration on the overskirt before the reveal--those patches of white definitely would have been noticeable, otherwise! Thanks for watching! ☺️
This costume is just stunning. I'm so glad you do all this 17th century stuff. Ambitious! I hope you enjoyed the eclipse. I saw the one in OR a few years back.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you ENJOY the 17th century stuff! The eclipse was a lot of fun. It was cloudy (in a city with 300 days of annual sun 🙄🙄🙄), but the skies cleared for totality, and we got a great view!
I love the colors of this 😍 and the overskirt turned out so cool! Honestly I could go on forever about all the pretty details in this costume. It's so gorgeous!
Another absolutely insane project that makes the creator look & most likely feel amazing! 🎉 The embroidery dramatization is definitely accurate. Kudos for getting through the making of the horn without putting in more innuendos than you did. 😂 The Monty Python reference is also appreciated. 👍

sewists will be like "i made this entire gown by hand BUT I EFFED UP THE ARM SLEEVE therefore i failed." you did an amazing job!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh god I feel that so hard!! Thank you so much, and thanks for watching!
A Monty Python reference! Here for it all day long . Costume is Beautiful! You look fabulous!
Eeeehehehehe. I sneak 'em in whenever I can! Probably no suprise, but I can quote that whole movie by heart 🤐 Thanks, and thanks for watching!

Well... it does look magical. I love the colors, the overskirt, the rhinestones and pearl on the trim. Genius. PS... the hair piece was gorgeous.
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching! 😊
Absolutely gorgeous ❤️
Thank you! 😁

Somehow UA-cam never notified me of this video. Absolutely beautiful gown.
Raaah! *fistshake at YT* Glad you found it eventually! Thanks, and thanks for watching!
I do hope you get that gown back from those pesky other unicorns because it was gorgeous and so sparkly! 💖
LOL! Me, too. Those pesky unicorns! *fist shake* Thank you! ☺️
Wow 🤩 the horn color matched so well I thought you'd wrapped it in the same silk 😮 absolutely stunning 😍
That's what happens when you make a dress out of your favorite color! It means you've already accumulated a lot of matching craft supplies 🤣😳
You made this look so amazing, its hard to not feel like we need to make things perfect. beautiful and done is how I like to make things .
Thank you!!! Definitely an impulse I struggle with--but you're totally right. Done is way more important than perfect!

Thank you so much! 😊

Thank you so much!! I appreciate you saying that! ☺️
I'm gonna have Charlie-themed nightmares now, thanks XD The gown is stunning, good job! And thanks for the inspiration for making 17th century!
MUAHAHAHA YES. I'm glad you got the reference lol! Thank you for watching, and glad it's inspired you!!
Those colors are so beautiful love how the oil slick turned out! And that trim wow 🤩
Thank you! It was a little dicey there, but it turned out in the end! 😁 And right? Not bad for $10 worth of cheapo poly lace! Thanks for watching!
Loved the video, so much work poured into it, commenting for the engagement.
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed, and very much appreciate the engagement 🧡🧡
Great costume! Love it!!!
Thank you!! I can't wait to wear it in public! (Some day...sigh...) Thanks for watching!
So cute, ❤
Thank you!
Let's go to candy mountain jackieeeeee
LOL!
Thank You
You're welcome!

Kudos for getting through the making of the horn without putting in more innuendos than you did. 😂

Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed! It was SO HARD to keep the horn section clean! 🤣🤣
@@FantasticalFolliesCostuming I can't show that part to my husband or certain friends because most adults are really 13 years old. 🤣
This turned out amazing!! The embroidery on the front of the bodice looks SO good and the rhinestoning was DEFINITELY worth it
Thank you so much! It was definitely a lot of extra work, but I agree. It really made everything tie together! Thanks for watching 😊
we're on a bridge jackieeeee
(it has occurred to me that there may be people here too young to get that reference...)
Hah! This did occur to me, as well, but so far there's been a decent amount who've gotten it...for better or worse. I'm glad! 🤣🤣
This is amazing!!!! Love this entire video and the clapping
Thank you so much! 😁
So pretty! I wanna see more info on the dye technique! 🤩 Sending you good vibes! ❤
Thank you! And your vote has been notated! 😊
Amazing 🤯👏🏽👏🏽🦄
Thank you so much! And thanks for watching! 😊
Ooo diamanté that stuff isn’t the worst but it is a pain lol
Agreed!!! I think I spent as much time untangling as embroidering, but it's better than the regular stuff 🤣
I think you forgetting to cut the center front turned out to be a huge happy accident!
I agree! I think it ties the gown together well 😁
🥰
Thanks for watching!
No such thing as too many rhinestones!
Also, yes please to the dyeing tutorial
Aaahahaha. I agree 🤣 although I did not agree during that 4 hr bedazzling session lol! And thanks for the feedback!
