Surreal how trainers and managers of that era and beyond with the thick East coast and Midwest accents are a thing of the past. What an era. Ironically the BS training regimens seen in the beginning that the old timers were scoffing at are now the norm in many boutique style boxing gyms. Boxing is now being catered to Instagram models and meat heads, and is often being taught by those same types.
McCallum is a god of boxing, criminally underrated. He could have beaten any of the famous 4. He had insane iq chin and stamina! A truly incredible fighter.
Kalambay was slick and boxed really good, but McCallum apparently didn’t arrive in Italy early enough from the USA, so wasn’t at his best. He won the rematch, but it was still close.
Spence is the truth but he will need a thorough examination suchas neurologist before he enters the ring again. He don't want to end up like Mike McCullen. Spence is a great fighter but I think that he has out grown Mr. James skill set. There wasn't any type of adjustments besides the training
a masterclass by a master. kalule's courage and toughness though.... what a warrior and deserves all respect and credit.

Well said - couldn't agree more. Can listen to the old trainers all day
Can't watch too much McCallum!
@jabs69 '' be like water my friend / let the punch hit by itself'' ... Bruce lee
nor can i. aw him fight live in the UK twice - it was an honour, and the English fans loved him.
He could fight on the move - side to side, backing up, or moving forward. He really was something to watch.

In Kalule's position, I would have just laid down on the floor and played dead in the 7th round

Was he really underrated? Thanks to youtube and the internet he is not underrated any longer.
Truth
Mc Callum was not underrated he was just avoided because of how good he was.
Kalue gave sugar ray a good fight Nice!!
Only time mc Callum in prime got outclassed was by a great underrated boxer the slick sumbu kulumbay

@@BikSingh00 exactly right
Mike McCallum was so great bt wouldn't go past Ray Leonard speed no way's bt he could have beaten the other Fabulous 3
At 154 he stands a chance, wouldn't be a dominant victory for either though
