[4K]Pushing the old Yamaha Grizzly 660 to its limits! (part1) GoPro Hero 8 Black!

- Shot this video on Christmas day, after 3" of fresh snow fell the night before, on top of old snow that had melted and frozen several times, becoming crusty. The poor old Yamaha, (2003) is pretty under-powered when it comes to snow conditions like that. It's going on 16 years old & still kickin though. There will be a second part to this video, showing the rest of the struggle. I only made it another 100 yards or so past where this video ended, but it took for ever and it's cool to watch.

Haaa! That's pretty damn sweet, thank you for that!
i have a Yamaha grizzly 660 (2006) and it is a beast i love yamaha products and driving four wheelers in the snow is something else
That old Grizzly did just fine.. Good driver too.
Riding in winter is the best
I agree!
man this brings back memories of my childhood. moved from Oregon & Lake Tahoe to Texas about 10 years ago. Not much snow out here ;-)
Beautiful scenery! Thanks.
You're welcome!
Amazing landscape. i got a 660 aswell. its a really great little atv.
I miss the snow and your views are amazing!!
One day you need to come ride!
wow super love it- great weather great ride- ol grizzly pullin hard ;-) would like to live in a small abonded village like that- btw like your nice tahoe !😁
That looked like fun!!! Doubt if my Honda rancher could have gone up that high!!!
Who needs a snowmobile when you got that
lol, sometimes the snow is just too deep for the Grizzly
Good video and HAVE A GOOD DAY
diff lock makes all the difference!! Good thing the grizz has one, I love mine, their a beast
The old Grizzly is like a tractor, keeps going and going. :)
Very good , the grizzly is a beast ;)
Thank you. :)
Bro you had me dodgin and movin with the tablet in my hands haha your wild like myself anyway happy new year
Haha!
You and grizzly are amazing
Thank you.
Great ride.
It was!
Where is this video taken at it's beautiful there
What year is the grizzly
Wiesco piston crank and slight boar w hmf really opened mine up. Use to have snorkels and hit deep shit but got tired of breaking stuff..lol
Maybe one of these days I'll get into this thing and do some power mods. To be honest, I don't ride it much. Usually only during the winter/snow when I can't ride my dirtbike. One mod I'm definitely going to do is the full power reverse mod. Sometimes it just doesn't have enough power in reverse to pull itself out of being stuck. There is a pretty simple mod you can do to get full power and speed in reverse, it involves grounding a certain wire, or installing a switch to ground it when you want full power reverse on demand. Google grizzly 660 reverse override mod.
Are you in low gear?
Hello form Romania very nice video o
Great video! Beautiful setting! Just scored an ‘06 special edition in getting the bugs worked out of. Seems like a fun quad.
I just got one too. Don't even know what year it is. Lots of research to do tomorrow
Thank you! Yeah, the old Grizzly runs pretty good for being almost 20 years old and a bit under powered compared to the new ones
The Grizzly's are like an old Cummins diesel truck, just keep on chuggin along for ever. :
@@Zeus33rd i found my vin and its an 03. Already have filters, yamalube, spark plug, tires and a seat headed my way! Axels look solid and one TINY possible oil leak around the filter somewhere. Fires right up. This thing is a beast. Kind of rides like a tractor lol
@@HooDRidEWhiteY I took my clutch apart and it was gunked up very badly from the old man I got it from just putting’ around on it. I cleaned it out and the weights all had flat spots. Went back with greaseless weights and a new belt and she will get it now. Just something to look at if the clutch has never been serviced
Grizzly Power 660 King Classic
I have the same grizzly 660 but it is dark green
Nice, i wants grizzly !!!!
I can smell that belt from here man!
What state is this in? Super cool scenery
Northern Nevada. Near Midas, NV.
I have the same one do you have any idea why when I’m going down a hill the eangne brake slips?
I can take a guess, but I'm not really too knowledgeable about these things. My best guess would be that maybe you need to replace the belt. Other than that, I don't really know. I'm sorry I wish I could answer your question better
One way bearing is bad if you haven't figured it out yet
Were you running in low or high? Great video looked like fun
This is running in low range, the old 660 doesn't have the balls to pull high range in snow like that.
I found a running 660 on letgo in great condition for 800 Its a two seater and I think it's like a 2004 to 2008
Nice!
They never made a 2 seater Grizzly
You have the life I want
Looks a bit like Utah! I wear similar gloves when I ride.
Only one state over from utah. I can get to SLC in about 5 hours or so
What exhaust you running?
Just stock
How many km can they take before rebuilt.?normal driving
Thats a good question. I have no idea. This one is a 2003 and hasn't been touched ever. It probably has the original belt lol
@@Zeus33rd my dad is a ABSOLUTE MAD MAN on his grizzly 660. He bought it brand new in 2002 and put a shit ton of km on it and he’s never replaced a single belt, broke a axel in it ONCE lol😂
good check out. I also ride this model
Grizzly 660 is a good machine for sure. Thank you for the comment!
А что так хрустит раздатка или меж осевой деференциал?
Can you write that in english?
That poor belt around 8:10 lol
haha! It's probably the original belt too....The Grizzly belonged to my gramps, I just took it over a few years ago.
@@Zeus33rd my dad has an 02 grizzly. Just green not tan. Still runs and starts first try with electric start, but sat for awhile for 3 years. Got it fixed like 5 months ago I believe. It's cool to see people still riding these older machines!
And more like 0:00 not 8:10 lol
The video quality is fuckin gorgeous !
Love it ! What about the dirt bike in the snow ? Haha
Thank you. One of these days I'm going to get some Grip Studs for my bike so I can ride in the snow. :)
Omg man where do you live it’s beautiful
I live in a small town in Nevada called Midas. 😎
I’m getting my 660 going right now I bought a new carburetor for 50 bucks off the Internet.
Excellent!
Btw i got some pretty cool riding vids on my channel...no where near the views u got though lol
