    My very close buddy passed away and I was able to buy his grizzly 660. it to has sat up for at lease 6 years. another friend had this grizzly for two hunting seasons and then sold it to last owner. hardly no time on it. they were old guys so yes too very good care. but I probably have to do the things you have done. thanks

    I bought a 660 just like this in 2002 brand new. I loved mine. I had it for a few years before deciding to sell it and buy a bass boat. I never had any problems with mine. It was a tank. Wish I still had it honestly.

    I like those 660's. I bought one new in 04 and abused it lol. I started having alot of problems out of it after 2010 so it just sat in a experiment shed here on the farm for years as i saved up for a side by side. I finally bought a new polaris in late Feb 2020 and the covid hit. Less than a month later the dealer called me and offered me 4k more than i paid to buy it back lol. I sold it and bought a 2yr old toyota and fixed my grizzly

    Hello Aaron. I have the same year grizzly as is shown in the video. I had a clicking noise in the front right side of machine. Saw the boot and come off. All the grease was gone out of the cv joint. So I disassembled the cv joint and axle shaft assembly. I found out a few things the hard way when I pulled the shaft off the snap ring fell off behavior the bearing toward the diff. I finally figured out that a C ring was holding the bearing assembly in the housing. I was able to get the housing out of the diff by gently prying on it. The question I have is that bearing and the bearing in the cv joint the same ??? I watched another video where it showed how to get the bearing out of the CV joint in a car so I tried it on my 4 wheeler and it worked. I could have probably just replaced the bearing if they are the same size. In the disassembly process the ripped the upper ball joint boot come to find the ball joint is welded to the A frame. So I have to replace the whole A frame for the upper ball joint. Not to mention I messed up the threads on the tie rod and upper ball joint. Where do you recommend buying parts for this machine and would you strictly replace with OEM Thanks Aaron. Sorry it’s so long just like to pass info on so other people can be informed

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  7 місяців тому

      Well I would just replace the whole cv axle. It's a lot easier & less time consuming. I'm not sure about the bearing sizes tho. I pretty much stopped replacing the cv axle boot if there is clicking & popping unless my customer really insisted on it. Sucks to hear about the ball joint that someone welded on. I honestly have has pretty good luck with some aftermarket cv axles. But I do always try to recommend staying with OEM unless I'm asked not to due to cost

    But when I give her choke, the idle sounds fine, never dei.
    So evertime I ride,
    I will give her gas a bit and choke off.
    I am not sure it that is normal or if I have a problem with my carb or any idle adjustment..the
    The problem is non serviceable carb.

      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  Рік тому

      Yeah a lot of times you have to choke them a little bit when you first start them & let them warm up a little bit. Then you should be able to turn the choke off & it should Idle with out any problems. If you're using the choke while you're riding it then it's most likely a clogged pilot jet. When you say non serviceable carb are you referring to the float bowl screws being flat & noway to take them out? If so you can cut a small slot in them & use a flat head screwdriver to take them out & replace the with the proper thread pitch & length philip head screw.

      I have worked on the Cfmoto 500 before. You that will still he a issue with the pilot jet. Have you tried to turn the idle up a little bit? But it sounds like a pilot jet issue. That is what controls idle up to 1/4 throttle. You also be a pilot mixture screw issue also.

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  2 місяці тому

      Sounds like you definitely need to check out your crank sensor. You need a ohm test it to see if it's got good ohms and then you need to do a peak voltage test to see if that's working. Usually when you have no spark it's usually a bad crank position sensor. Ain't on that model I believe it's part of the stator so it's not going to be cheap.

    I finished same project on my 2002. The Chinese carb will last 2 weeks. It's junk. Will start to backfire and the Choke will not work properly. I ordered the mikuni directly from Japan I think I got the last one off the shelf. Unfortunately you fast forward thru everything that anyone that watches these videos for. Soak the old carb in pinesol for 24 hours and buy the correct Yamaha part rebuild the original carb. Also don't by the cheap ass fuel cock. It will leak thru in a few weeks and will cause the carb to gum up again. I'm the original owner of my 660. And a weekend mechanic by necessity.

      Hey Tommy Taps. Yeah Im not a fan of the Chinese parts myself. I almost always by O.E.M. unless my customer tells me different like on this job. Any time I us aftermarket carb I alway take them apart & check all the jets & gaskets. I have gotten them where the jets were not the correct size , float bowl full of grease, missing 0-rings, gaskets, fuel needle ect... The pet cocks really suck because of the cheap ass rubber they use in them. Gas pretty much turns them into mush. Sorry about fast forwarding past the things you say people watch this for. Please let me know what that exactly is so I can make the proper adjustments in the future. Im always open for some constructive criticism so I can make the videos better for my viewers. Again thank you for the feed back & please let me know what you think will make it better for future viewers.

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  10 місяців тому +1

      It's the starter relay & not the starter solenoid burning up? Hmmmm the relay wiring could have a short to ground somewhere after the fuse. I believe that really runs off of the main fuse with should be a 30amp fuse. The only time the relay should be completing the circuit is when you're pushing the start switch which energize the relay & let's power pass through to the starter solenoid.

      Hey David. Everything is repairable if parts are available are you have a donor bike. Now is it worth the time & $$ is a completely different topic altogether lol. Sometimes to create content as a UA-camr we do spend more money than it is worth to fix. I personally hate seeing quads & bikes go to waste. But $$ plays a big factor sometimes.

      I was given a Yamaha grizzly 660 and a grizzly 125. I haven't received them. Buddy went through nasty divorce. I will get up with you when I get these in my possession. Thanks for the great videos

      Oh yeah I definitely take them apart & check them. I have found the jet sizes way way to small before & I have had the float bowl full of some type of silicone grease. I have had more success that not. But I always prefer O.E.M. over aftermarket stuff. But sometimes the budget doest quit fit that want lol.

    Where do the red wire and blue and white wires go to on the selenoid

    • @limitlesspowersportsservic3394
      @limitlesspowersportsservic3394  Рік тому

      Those would be your trigger wires for the push button start. They should just plug in right near the mounting point of the starter solenoid. I can remember if they are individual bullet connectors are if it's just on connector.
