I bought a red 02 Grizzly 660 a few years ago but unfortunately haven’t had the chance to take it out much yet. It has 5,100 miles and 787 hours. It is in somewhat rougher condition with the plastics faded and some dents and dings but still runs and drives pretty well. I paid just under $2K for it which I think was a pretty decent deal. I really like these Yamahas over a Polaris. Wouldn’t mind up grading to a used Grizzly 700 someday for the EFI and power steering.
Awesome machine beautiful location plz help me I recently purchased one of these 07 model 660 when I foor it it seems to be something bogging it just the slightest runs great otherwise no issues running or idling can even still pull wheelies and it's all stock never ever been in deep water or mud was told the carb had been cleaned thanks
Looked like a nice day to climb that hill. I have a 05 660. I did notice you didn’t bang off of your rev limiter in all wheel drive. My Grizzly won’t let me rev it up that high. Even with the over ride button pushed in. Did you modify it or is mine lacking something. Have you ever been to the Hatfield McCoy trails ? They are a blast. You can’t ride in this much snow down there. Really steep switch backs. Thanks for the upload and ride along.
@@Valetic6No I still can’t hammer it that Hard in all wheel drive I can go but not full throttle. I think it’s the limiter I didn’t get enough snow this year to play in it. I didn’t even plow, put that on for nothing. By the time I got to go out in the snow it was gone . That’s not how winter is supposed to be where I live , In upstate NY.
@@joegilly1523 what does it do? It just feels and sounds better at 80-90% instead of 100% throttle? Mine does that to some degree. I’m not sure what it is yet. I assumed the carb needs to be tuned or something. It doesn’t like 1/3 or 1/2 throttle either. I just bought it recently. It sat forever and they threw a new carb and battery and it came back to life so I took it.
Cool mountain views - thanks for that. I too just bought a 1998 Grizzly 600 for $2000 with 5.2K miles. Have to rectify the motor work but looks pretty with new paint. Any tire recommendations? That AT25 x 10-10 original rear tire is hard to find.
I have an 02 Grizzly 660 but want to get a newer used Grizzly 700 someday. Besides the 700 having EFI and EPS, do you notice much difference in how they drive?
Truth. Although I just don't ride this thing enough to justify newer, bigger tires. I'm on my dirtbike most of the time. These Maxxis Bighorns still have years of life in them at my pace. I'd probably end up with a new machine before getting larger rubber for the Grizzly. :)
Buy some Zilla tires man. I live in Alberta Canada and that what my group uses. We haven’t found anything that chews through deep snow better than Maxxis Zilla’s. My buddy used to swear by Mudlites until he tried Zillas. Lol

My dads ‘03 had the left hand brake override to start it in gear. Idk if that’s a U.S only thing but it helps!
I wish this one had that switch. I'm sure theres a way to add one. Need to do that and the full power reverse mod.
lol just chugging along , that bike is alot tougher than i thought and my what a beautiful place to ride , i need to get out of florida
Has to nice having locking differential my 04 rincon 650 don’t and make me feel like getting a grizzly
Get a grizzly or Kodiak you won't go back to Honda.
My 05 has the override button my 02 didnt I'm glad they put it in there
One of these days I'm going to install a switch
That Yamaha Grizzly is one tough machine!

Mine lets me rev like that. Did you ever find out what it was? Did the carb need a rejet or did you need to tear down the engine or something?

Haha, she loved it awesome ride mate looked like a lotta fun.
That’s a long walk back when the belt goes lol
I'm only a mile or two from home. 🤙
These grizzlys belts aren't like Polaris. They don't fail so easy.
It's a yamaha, which has a wet cluch feeding the primary. 10 year belt factory warranty. Never going to burn up.
@@xxxviii007 exactly! Such a good design. Mine had 11 years/ 10k miles before i replaced it
You could do this every day for a year and the belt would only be half worn. Yamaha and their belts are insane.x

I'm not sure what size tires are on my grizzly, but the maxxis bighorns are what is on it in the video. I'm pretty happy with them so far
tough little grizz !!✊
Man, I always feel sorry for this old Yamaha when the Winter comes! You don't deserve such a good ladie.
haaaa!
Should be an override button for the reverse my kind quad has one
There is one
Is it just me or does his grizzly sound super charged. My 04 660 does not

I got 2 06 grizzly 660’s and a 2017 grizzly 700 and I’ll take the old silver tip any day!!!
