When it comes to making leads sound more "human" or "alive", I think a good way to think about it is "how would I sing it?" Where would things swell, where would you add vibrato, what notes would be quieter?
I often hum the melody before I design it :)
Thanks, I didn't watch the video but based on the thumbnail I started setting filter cutoff on 32% for all instruments and my tinnitus is getting better and better.

6:08 how did you automate the single point controlling the end shape of that LFO?? I've never found a way to automate that, only been able to move it manually and record that 🤔

simply drag and drop any of the macros onto the lfo point and then adjust the amounts in MATRIX

Great video. But something 30 seconds in bothered me a little bit. That really fast run of notes is...not so much slurred as completely blurred together in humanized version. I think it had more character when every note was precise and sharply articulated. As someone who did band all the way through a few years of college woodwind ensemble, that humanized run sounds natural alright...for someone in high school band who hasn't been practicing like they were supposed to. It isn't inhuman for runs like that to be practiced to a seemingly robotic perfection thanks to muscle memory. I get adding minute variations on a lot of parts, but my experience in large ensembles tells me something like that run sounds best when it goes off perfectly and clearly.
