I hope the owner got the costs back off the numptie who overfilled it. These Ford Lion TDV6 engines were an awful design and their cranks snap by No 1 Journal. But you made short work of this job mate. Well done you.
most engine problem is from bad bad maintanance no oil change mainly everybody wants to drive landrover but dont want to maintain it on time or cant afford to maintain it wow my opinion from jamaica koool love yr videos
They are a bad engine , well known to spin main bearings and break crank shafts , the 2.7 was renowned for having the timing belt idler break off the oil pump , Ford did not do LR any favours
You make the Landy engine replacement look so easy, awesome vids mate. I cooked my LR4 SDV6 towing van up the Toowoomba range, After some advice please, Do I just need to change the heads or whole motor?
I've been told there is always some oil in intercooler in these ? what is normal in 3.0L tdv6 ? is this typically coming form the primary or secondary turbo or what is the source of this?
There is normally a bit of oil in there, it's normally from the pcv just venting vapour into the inlet, they can also get oil in them if you have an early 3.0 without the secondary turbo drain mod.
Are you interested in working on my Disco 2010 TDV6 3.0 She has a engine knock in the bottom end. No leaks anywhere as far as I can tell? I suspect it needs a Reco engine. I'm in Melbourne but more than happy to transport to you! Penny for your thoughts? Regards Adrian
Awesome Video - Just subscribed to ur channel. I have a 2016 Disco TDV6 3.0 and about to start my own oil changes .Whats the best method to drain the oil? Use the sump plug? or the drain pipe with vacumn at top of engine? cheers
yes met a woman whose son filled it with oil, broke crank, the insurance were forced to pay out as the court said it was an accident , 35k here for an engine, dunno how much for a short block

Thanks mate, I always drain them from the sump plug and replace the sump plug as well because the little O ring doesn't seal that well a second time.
