Woke up with a feeling for cornmeal porridge, found your channel and am prepping it now. I’m a Jamaican living in Canada. I do not cook Jamaican meals but try. I have made porridge before and decided to try a different way. No condense milk for me I use almond milk, and brown sugar for sweeting. It’s pretty good.

You can leave it out and as you see in this recipe it was cooked with some coconut milk so just add enough sugar to your sweetness. Traditionally it was made with just water and then sweetened with condensed milk. You can also make your own condensed milk using nut or seed milk.
