Hope you guys appreciate this DK tech exhibition/tutorial! We went over some combos starting at 0%, pDKO execution, KO setups past pDKO percent, b-reverse down b applications, and other general movement tech. These are techniques myself and many other top DK players are using nowadays during both tournament play and quickplay.
Thank you so much DKWill! I was getting trouble finding a really helpful guide on how to perform some key movement with DK like the Down-B reverse, or the Neutral B-reverse charge cancel to back air.

yo i was a DK main in ssb4 and unfortunately have not put in the time to pick him up in ssbu. im not tryna pick him up or at least not play him the exact same way I played him in ssb4. does anyone have a link to all the cargo throw combos? also thanks for this DKWill im obviously not at the point where ill be able to apply all the tech in the video but it did motivate me to learn much more about the character as I feel he's more complex than in ssb4
What do you mean by refresh cargo up throw and up air? I was not aware there was a mechanic like that
There is a stale move queue in Smash Ultimate (this came into existence ever since Smash Bros. Brawl). Basically, each time you use a move, it goes into the queue and becomes more stale. You can refresh your move by either losing your stock or by using another 10 moves to push it off the queue.

Why is it important to SD before executing the final attack?
Oh when we were labbing? SDs just ensure that moves are as fresh as possible this way the standard percent window will still apply for pDKO (Ding Dong).
Great content! do you have any advice practicing the different DIs for the pDKO when alone?
Unfortunately, CPUs only DI away from where you are. So the best way to practice pDKOs with proper DI mixups is with another person. Mixups being DI left, right, or up+jump. However, if you have a labbing arduino you should be able to set the CPU to random DI + air dodge. If you're interested in such an arduino, I can provide details since I had one custom made for me.
I feel like its easier to up air with stick and A vs c stick.
In some cases this is true, but when you want to fully follow the opponent's DI during pDKO it's best to keep your left stick available to drift either left or right. If you hold left or right too long it's very possible to accidentally f-air or b-air when using the A button for up air. Plus, c-stick up air lets you more precisely time your up air.
Have you found any use out of DK’s normal up throw?
Can cargo bthrow > irar idj bair work? Might be perdy good
I have to admit I've never considered trying to combo out of cargo back throw simply because cargo up throw exists. I also want to say it'll have too much cooldown to get a follow-up, but I've yet to personally test it.
I've tried and it looks pretty good... idk ill come out to one of your streams to talk about it
Sometimes I like to down throw > ac bair at lower percents if I'm close to ledge, often you can chain multiple back airs after that
