H1MIN: PARIS GUN - PARIS GESCHÜTZ
Вставка
- Опубліковано 14 жов 2024
- The Paris gun or Paris-Geschütz were long range artillery guns designed to bombard Paris during World War 1.
It had the distinction of being the highest range projectile fired during WW1. The gun pushed artillery technology to the limit and the shells reached stratospheric altitudes to cover such long distances. Little was known about the technology since the guns and plans were destroyed. However the engineer's notes were discovered by Gerald Bull 70 years later.

Sorry, should not have not gotten a notice. If you did apologies, there was an error, wrong city listed on the map. UA-cam really needs to provide the ability to replace/fix existing videos.
Sup Dude!
Sorry for the additionnal work and for having to upload again, but now it's even more perfect :)
I dont care, it means i get to watch it again! Woo!
please make a video about ATGMs
It's fine. Thank you for correcting the information and please take care everyone.
They had to calculate the rotation of the earth while the shell was airborne as an aiming factor
and they say anyone can fire a gun
They truly were geniuses those Germans, I will alway be amazed at the engineering skills of Germans and Japanese.

And the curvature too, I believe. Flat earthers go kinda quiet or change the subject when you mention that.
I’ve just found this channel, and it’s really fantastic. Each video, while short, clearly has a lot of effort and love put into each one. Not only that but it’s to the point and says everything important about a specific topic - not getting sidetracked halfway through. You’ve earned a sub, keep it up.
@DerGRAF tf
I think the videos would have greater reach if you removed the yellow H1 from the thumbnail. Congratulations on the great content.
Yes, thumbnails of your videos are not very good or interesting. I think its okay to change style abit for better distinction of the videos, even Real engineering did the same thing recently with their video thumbnails.
Quem diria, um canal BR famoso por aqui.
I think you’re right
I think its unecessary, it was meant to be this channel's "characteristic"
True
I just want to say, that your channel is the freaking best among all others. Like literally animation + educational value... The Best bro!
In a blink of an eye you will get to 1 million :D
The most beautiful animations and sounds and graphics, all in the back drop of solid backdrop of narration, once again.
Wtf i just watched every single of his vids
It's still very difficult to comprehend the thought of a cannon so old firing grenades to such long distances... The mechanism is just amazing.
Ww1 era was very inventive, but most of the stuff they made didnt really see action as it was either too expensive or complicated to mass produce. Google about the Kettering Bug for example, it was a literal cruise missile.
Your animator is extremely talented
Yea, i hope this would blow up
the renderings and animation are so consistently awesome.
must have been fun recreating some of these from just notes and plans
130 kilometers range, that just about a range of modern short range ballistic missile.
God, imagine shelling enemies area without worry detected by radar.
That last part about Gerald Bull finding the notes is an interesting point, for those who don't know, he was one of the lead men in the idea of a Spacegun, using a cannon to launch payloads into orbit, and worked with the US Government, and later for Saddam's government, to pursue that objective.
until Mossad killed him . . . I wish we got see more of his work.
tbh i love how simple the explanation yet still informative to a point, it may seem like you're reading from wikipedia but i'm fine with that since the script does not cause information overload.
Dude I really love your videos. The animations are really good and everything is just direct and on point

You deserve WAY more subscribers than you currently have. I shall spread word of your channel far and wide!
I honestly really enjoy your videos and your videos deserve a lot more attention
This channel deserves so many more subs
I'm gonna like all these. What a good channel. This is what UA-cam should be.
always love your concise, to the point and graphically superb videos
German gunner: “what should i aim for?”
German officer: “that way...”
Just stumbled upon your channel. Amazing content, I love your work!
Love the videos! The one minute explaination is so good! Thank you so much!
best military channel ever!
keep going dude!
Fun fact: one of the top 5 (I think) fastest manmade objects was a manhole cover wich reached speeds of up to 125000mph
imagine if warfare had become giant artillery and spotting aircraft for counter battery fire
I have just found your channel and it is great, thank you
Please could you explain how gas shell work ? (im french sorry i dont know the word for it but in french it's an "obus")
I love yours animations of this but I think the best here could be if you show to how big crater was because of this bullets
Fascinating ballistics engineering of the day. I didn't know only portions of the barrel were rifled. Also, there were actually three Paris Guns. I think at least one exploded, killing most of the crew. Achieving muzzle velocity of over 5400 fps is staggering. I'd like to know what the breech pressure was. The max range was about 75 miles, since that's the closest they could get the guns to Paris. The Germans have always been fascinated by big guns.
Great channel, I watched all the clips in one sitting. I'm waiting for more. Cheers!
Next : Saddam Hussein Supergun
Pipes. (Juts to rewrite like on original video ) ;-)
Or the V3
Yeah,it reportedly would fire a nuclear round
Ironic. At the end of the video, Gerard bull's name was mentioned. A.k.a the guy who saddam hired to make his supergun
Just a French passing by : your pronounciation of the French "R" is perfect. Congrats :)
Remind me which word that was
@@jeffbenton6183 "Crépy"
This channel is amazing.
Best animation & explain ever
Keep it up bro ✌️
I just found about paris gun in my geography book and came here to see more.
I mean if you can hit a city from 130km away considering all the crosswind and turbulence repeatedly that's an accurate gun.
Fantastic content, concise and to the point
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!! PLEASE KEEP POSTING!!!
Wait, reupload?
No, it's Deja Vu.
If it to be believed, some of the projectiles fired by the Paris Gun may have been the first man-made objects to have reached near the edge of space.........
I have a question whether Geschütz means cannon in german.I am not learning german but I have seen this word many times while watching ww1/ww2 stuff.
For example the idea of the tank is called a motor-geschütz (motor-cannon?) or that Paris Geschütz could be called a Paris Cannon
Thank you for the content. Great stuff!
Glad you enjoy it!
Love your videos. Would be awesome to see the Karl
can you do how high explosive shell work on WW2?
VT FUZE?
@@delfiekaputri9369 wait he already did that one.
".. Notes were found by Gerald Bull." and thereby hangs a tale.
Why not just rifle the barrel in two halves? If one half is rifled, why not rifle the other half? It would probably take a while to get the rifling to match, but i guess that they could design something to help.
Can you do a video on how gun stabilizer on MBT works :))
Your videos are great ! Keep on the good job !
I love this channel
I heard one of the conditions of the treaty of Versailles was Germany had to hand over a completed Paris gun. Does anyone know if that is true?
If i im remembering correctly, the paris gun needed to lead the target because of distance
I feel like this gun was the grandaddy of the Gustav railway cannon
Yep and other WW2 Germans supergun.
Just perfect
Gustav gun : father? Is that you?
Paris gun : son?
*Only legends know Gerald Bull *dude who found plans of gun*. He almost even built bigger one.*
Just a comment to boost visibility
Wait,40 likes?,looks like someone is disrespecting my fav-oh,reupload
In France we named this gun ''Grosse Bertha''
Would u please do history on German U boats?
guns? was there more of this or one?
Bell Xf-1?
Missiles: I am about to end this gun's whole career
You are the best good job at the vids
Well I just watched an entire UA-cam channel with less than 10% battery left on my phone.
Damn, that's one sexy gun
You there, yes you the one doing the videos. I dont know who you are or where you came from but you are gonna take my sub because this is the shit.
Reupload?
Nooooo, I need more videos D:
About 900 casualties from this massive, expensive weapon? Sounds like Germany went to extreme lengths to achieve little more than a harassment attack.
Precisely
Funny how it just looks like an upside down Schwerer Gustav.
Wait so there was more then one gun?
Please make more videos!!!
that grand cannon thing in red alert 2 is real
Ww1 version of Stonehenge.
Nice!
Before Gustav, we had this
Please make more videos
I thought you said ww2 instead of ww1 and i was like "what about the schewer gustav"
More videos pls
Make a vid on the little boy bomb
Ok first nato ball striking and I found this channel and watch it all
the one thing i don’t like about this channel is the lack of vids
Who needs accuracy if you are aiming at a city
1:09..... That was the most French French I've ever heard.
Oh no you killed Kenny (Canon shoot in Wrong city ) ;-)
360° no scope
Big gun go boom
French from Red Alert 2?
How did we win
wow awesome content. Don't squeeze it into one minute though. Make it longer .
Calling it anything other than 'Götterdämmerung' was a mistake.
fritz rausenburger is the most german name i have ever heard
probably the least effective weapon in terms of size vs efficiency
Post more :(
Pretty ineffective for the cost and effort, more of a nuisance and morale weapon given the casualties.
81 miles? I could shell AIPAC from my house!
**Sad gustav noises**
The Japanese also had a similar gun wich they transported by train.
Tell me more.
220lbs shell, thats very light compared to 3000lbs rounds of the battleships of that time.
