I am curious as to what type of net that was that you drop down from the pier to pull up your catch. I’ve never fist from up here before and never seen a net like that? Your video quality is amazing and so is your demeanor man. Keep at it.
Thank you! I was using a “bridge landing net.” If you are unable to find one, you could always remove the center ring from a crab hoop net and it will work the same.
@@BetterOddsFishing Ask the olm nan in the video named (JOJO )urbanic with more than 6 decades fishing here what the best pier set up is. No one uses a stinger rig because the bottom is loaded with seaweed most of the year
1/2oz bullet jighead with a 5” anchovy big hammer swimbait. Best of luck out there! Links below www.basspro.com/shop/en/kalins-ultimate-saltwater-bullet-jigheads Plus www.basspro.com/shop/en/big-hammer-5-swimbait
This fish was caught during an incoming tide, just over an hour after slack low. Incoming tide is preferable, and there are bite windows around any change in tide. Best of luck out there!
How’s that “commercial“ fisherman making the moment about himself lol. Showing off old pics to validate himself and try to one up your moment. People like that stink of insecurity. Dude needs to get a life
Congrats! Glad to see that pier back open, grew up fishing there all the time.
Thank you! This fishing spot was definitely missed
Great fishing 🎣 Thanks for sharing your rod !
No problem! Was a great time for sure
Capitola is so much more chill than Pacifica. I need to make it down there again!
And there are plenty of good food options close by 🤙 Best of luck out there
Such a great sight to see Capitola up and running again.
Right! So glad it’s back

Nice bathroom review, also nice fish! I don't think I've saltwater fished yet this year, might go check out the new wharf!
Thank you! Parking is a little rough. Best of luck out there
Score! Beautiful day...
Thank you
Good info on the Wharf and the B-Rooms! Be nice if they had an auto sanitizing feature.
Thank you Tap! It looks as if it has something to wash the floors, but yea I totally agree
Most the locals here use a bobber and live bait and fish well within the gated fence area
That’s a great way to catch Jack smelt, king fish, and mackerel 👍

Any anchovies under the pier?
They are still pretty heavy in the area, but not under the Capitola pier most of the time right now. Santa Cruz wharf has a lot
Thank you for the nice video. Can you leave the link or information where you bought the swim bate.

Were you fishing in low tide or high tide? Side note for hali does tide really matter? Do they bite more on certain conditions? Thank you!

nice!!
👊🔥🔥
Are you keeping the body after you filet but stay on the pier? I thought the game wardens needed to see it in tact to verify size.
I would’ve been able to show them the carcass and my video
Unfortunately I didn’t bring a bigger cooler on hand otherwise I would’ve kept the fish whole on ice until I departed
nice sir
Thank you
