Reuploaded due to a small position mixup during intermission in the original version. TL;DW It's Shabin. If you raid in NA PF, this should match almost perfectly with what you've been doing. If you raid in EU PF, there are a handful of differences in spread/pair positions that you can probably spot from watching the first minute. This tier's guides has taken a huge amount of effort, but I hope they have made savage a little more approachable, especially for 1st time raiders.
For EU players reading this, the EE2 pairs stack is very different. Not only the positions, but who your partner will be as well. In our current most popular raidplan for P1 (EE2 Uptime, known as 'OQ5') we don't +1 the long debuff counter and do our stacks like this: DPS: Short2 + Long2 = Flank DPS: Short3 + Long1 = Rear Support: Short2 + Long2 = Under Support: Short3 + Long1 = Front In this guide, it's instead this (long debuffs are +1): DPS: Short3 + Long2(+1) = Flank DPS: Short 2 + Long1(+1) = Under Support: Short2 + Long1(+1) = Rear Support: Short3 + Long2(+1) = Front Spread positions are also completely different: OQ5: MT: Under OT: Front M1: Flank M2: Rear H1: Front far H2: Front far (off to side) R1: Rear far R2: Rear far (off to side) Hector: MT: Front OT: Rear M1: Under M2: Flank H1: Front far (off to side) H2: Rear far (off to side) R1: Front far R2: Rear far If you put up a PF either under the OQ5 or Hector for next week's reclear or prog, make sure that everyone is on the same page about what the pairs and spread positions are for EE2 so you can- who am I kidding, we're all doomed
This was my first time stepping into Savage and I would not have been able to do it as well as I did without you and your guides. Thank you for all the work, it is greatly appreciated :D
Like a lot of other people, I literally would not be savage raiding if it weren't for you, Hector. You're literally the sole pillar supporting NA party finder from devolving into impudent chaos.
I do think Witch hunt could be described a little better to match Shabin as DN specifically has people doing their bait positions when it's their role's turn example as a melee for 3rd and 4th baits I'm always most in no matter what and ranged dps always go out
Since this has been reuploaded, I'll re-post my comment I left regarding an easier way to read Exas. EASIER WAY TO READ EXAFLARES - You don't need to read TWO arrows, only ever ONE. Once you get to your safe spot with your light party on either the left or right of the arena, simply look across the arena to the other side, and find the Exaflare on the edge that is facing OUT of the arena. THIS IS YOUR SAFE LANE. For an example, if I am LP2, on the right side of the arena, all I need to do is look to the left side of the arena, find the ONE arrow that is pointing out from the arena on the edge, and that will be my safe lane. In Hector's example, this would be lane 3. There is absolutely NO NEED to match two arrows. The single arrow on the opposite edge will ALWAYS correspond to the same direction on your side. After the initial explosions hit, simply move into this safe lane, and you can chill for the rest of the mechanic. Hope this helps!
I wish I could upvote this more than once. Def need an amendment video. Hector's explanation was way too complicated. We've also been lining up on the first safe spot from north. No need to be on the middle safe spot.
@@jseck91 the middle safe spot appears to still be melee uptime, and now whether lane 2 or lane 3 is safe, you only move a little bit, instead of needing to cross entirely across lane 2 to reach lane 3 safe. theres no need to be in the north safe spot, just dodge the exas.
@@steveh1474 Out of the 100+ pulls I have done, and 2 clears, I have seen lanes 1 and 2 be the safe lanes far more than lane 3. Its also never lane 4. There is no point in being so far back in the room. The first safe spot is the high % play.
Hello Hector. I am the person who originally created the AutoCAD part of the AutoCAD uptime Sunrise strat. I only mention this because I think it is important to mention that the safe spots are on the *dead middle of the edge of the waymark*, and the maximum amount of safety requires you aiming for this specific spot on the marker. You did naturally put the placement of the player icons in this spot (which aligns with the raid plan). However the phrasing "on the edge" of the waymark is not specific enough. This is due to the angle you make with the baited cannon is the most important factor when considering "safety" margins with this strat. Standing too close to either edge messes with this angle and will cause you to hit another player. Due to the popularity of this strategy I see in PF now, I thought it was necessary to get this information out there. The point of creating this strat and modelling it in AutoCAD was to give an absolute point of reference to stand in to be safe, while maximizing the amount of "wiggle room". Unfortunately this means that, due to geometry, only the center of the waymark on the outer edge is safe. There is no way to place the markers such that the corner of the waymarks safe. I don't feel that this necessarily warrants a major change to the guide, just wanted to put the information out there, to hopefully prevent frustrations with the strat. For reference, there is an image now included in the AutoCAD raidplan description that shows the AutoCAD-guaranteed safe spots on the marker. The shapes are odd due to the nature of how the cannons are baited being highly dependent on the angle made between you and the center of the cannon. If anyone here doesn't want to find that image in the description above, here is the safe spots for the 1 waymark as depicted by my amazing text-art skills. X marks the safe spots. ---- ---- X ---- ----- | | | | X 1 waymark | | | | | ---- ---- ----- ---- -----
@@Bearpigman thank you! My static was trying the billibilli Strat on day 4 and was frustrated at the “loose” spots that was causing clipping. I happened to have the tools to find out how to create exact markers. Figured we would share it and didn’t expect it to become popular at all.
@@pyrionflax3143 yeah I technically used Fusion360 and not AutoCAD. We just thought AutoCAD was funnier and sounded better. The name is from the fact that in order to find the safest positions we needed to model it. The mechanic is quite tight.
ALERT: Something of note. Some people will stand slightly on the outside of the waymark. This works, but only if all 4 people do it. Someone dead center on the X will get clipped by someone 25% on the X.
i love you hector you've helped me out with multiple tiers now at this point so i just want to be vocal and tell you i appreciate the effort and i hope you continue to keep making strategy videos in the future man thank you
Your video already shows it, but the best way I think to solve witch hunt while thinking the least is, if the baits are far and it’s an out, and near and in (so they match, far/out and near/in) then you’re always baiting away from marker and avoiding baits on markers, and if the baits/aoes are opposite (near/out and far/in) you’re baiting on your markers and avoiding baits away from markers. You kinda went over it already but figured this might clear some stuff up so people can think a little less. Match = baits away from marker Opposite= baits on marker
Hey bro. Just wanted to say thank you for making these. Seeing where I should be placed and then actually doing it is the exact way I learn. You got me through m1s-m3s in less then two weeks and now I'm here proging m4s. So thank you mate, appreciate the work you put in.
Hey man, I just wanted to say that I've already cleared these fights, but even so, I still come back to your videos to review them before I do reclears each week. Thank you for all the effort you put into your videos. I try to always leave a comment and/or a thumbsup on the videos. They're a great resource for the community, and we're lucky to have them. I hope you keep them up for all content across Dawntrail and beyond. I've got you followed on Twitch as well, and hope to see ya around there sometime. Thanks again for doing what ya do.
same here, I already killed the entire tier twice with my static, but I still come back to watch Hector's guide. Really glad that this dude maintaining raiding community with all of these vids
Used a combination of this guide, a few sims, some tank pov's, and mitigation sheets to help get my clears for this tier, thank you for all your work on these
An easy way to do witch hunt this way which helped me a lot: completely ignore the near/far and only focus on the point blank/donut. If you're support: just go to your baiting spot for your first two regardless on if it's near/far, and then go to your dodging positions for the last two. Dps do the opposite: dodging positions for the first two baiting positions for the last two. With this it doesn't matter whether ranged or melee get picked everyone should still be dodging it safely, provided the ranged baiters take an extra step out and the tanks go center of the waymarks on an out
The way I do it is if it's Narrowing you're only ever ON your waymark when it's time to bait. If it's Widening you're only ever OFF your waymark when it's time to bait.
Dude thank you SO MUCH for these guides theyre awesome and have really been helping me and my friends get through the tier, 3 weeks down 3 bosses down and starting this fight this week. So thank you again a million times over.
Thanks for another tier Hector! Always appreciate your guides and was seriously going into m4 today. Was looking at shabin but this video to help visualize will help a ton!
Thanks to your guide I was able to clear the fight! Also congrats on the interview to the community team of FFXIV. I’m glad you’re getting the recognition for your hard work. Keep doing great ❤️
I guess shababin got mass reported "This paste has been deemed potentially harmful. Pastebin took the necessary steps to prevent access on August 30, 2024, 10:54 am CDT. If you feel this is an incorrect assessment, please contact us within 14 days to avoid any permanent loss of content."
Easy way to think about witch hunt: If the first bait aligns with the first witch hunt, you do the opposite of the witch hunt unless its your turn. E.x., widening with far-close-far-close you would be near + in-far + out-near + in-far + out EXCEPT for your specific bait. If they don't align, you do the same as the witch hunt unless its your turn to bait. E.x., widening with close-far-close-far would be far + out - in + near - far + out - in + near unless its your turn.
I cleared all fights befofre you guides but i always watch them no matter what because they help me understand and even learn things i didnt get before, been watching your guides since Asphodelos keep up the amazing work. Side note: Phase 2 autos HURT, MT gets chunked heavily during certain mechs
being able to watch this along with the shabin pastebin for my pausing and reading has immensely helped. I'm sure i'll be stuck on it for WEEKS but this definitely helped lmao
I've just got to say man, that despite this being my 1st raid tier (started in 6.5 EW), I already cleared M1S, M2S and M3s already (in week 2) via party finder alone. I could never have done it if not for your guides. Thank you for your hard work, it really makes people like me able to clear savage raiding and get into higher difficulty content. Even if some people claim that your guides are unoptimal, which I strongly disagree with, it helps tremedously in uniting pfs and push together with a consistent plan. Can't wait to try my best at M4S this week!
@@حمدالمطيري-ز4ل thanks man, just reporting that she's officialy dead. I repeat, the horsey is gone. Can definitely recommend the guide, it worked like a charm
First time commenter. Just showing appreciation for how much the guides have helped and enabled players all around the world who dont have statics to troubleshoot. I cant imagine the time it took to get all of this into such easily digestable content. Thank you
nice guide thank you. im always happy to look at the guides that shows exacly the positionals. im also very hyped for next extriime fight, and i do hope you are the guide for it ones it arrives.
Yes! Cleared week 1 switching between uptime sunrise to normal and I must say you hit everything perfect in this guide! this is exactly what we did week 1 and I hope everyone gets there clears! Thank you for the guides hector. PF is going to be a lot more smoother!
as someone who cleared week 1, this is a great guide! all the strats are accurate to what you would be doing on pf in NA. a couple of notes I have are that you actually only need to look for one exa to find your safe spot. if you look directly across to the far column of exas and find the only one pointing away from you, that's your safe lane. the other thing to note is that the knock up at the end of transition is in fact a knockback, so if you're not all tightly stacked you can get knocked too far in one direction and not make it onto the other arena safely. the dodges as described in the video are typically referred to as "color dodges" mostly to just ensure everyone's dodging the same direction. have fun and get that clear, gamers!
I just cleared this fight without using your guide and I have to say no other video or raidplan explains mechanics as easily understandable as you do. I just understood how exaflares are easily solveable for example..
I feel like some people do not realize that the cannon priority is relative to how the towers spawn in for sunrise. Idt hector actually mentions that, but it is shown in this video. I’ve had to explain this to quite a few tanks tbh who kept wiping on sunrise.
There is an easier way as a slight alteration of Shabin, you can even fix the pair r1+m1 and r2+m2 and just have the melees swap in case both are long or both are short. The PF strat of having everyone realize their position instead of just 2 people checking if they need to swap position reduces the total brain burden a bit.
I'm still practicing M1S but I came here to comment xD, great work. I really like watching your cat at he end, it helps me a lot with the anxiety of learning a high end fight :)
Oh boy here we go again. Hector keep making cool shit, you are awesome for pf. For exaflares you just need to look for the exaflares going out of the arena, no need to look for 2 exaflares going in the same arrows. Pf sunrise memes comes from blasting each with cannons. Never step beyond the diagonal line of the tile when baiting cannons.
Thank you Hector! You've been helping me understand the fights in a really approachable way! I appreciate the work you put into these guides! I watch several creators to learn the fights and you all do fantastic jobs.
For Sunrise Sabbath can the towers end up next to each other at all? You showed North+South and East+West but is there a possibility for something like East+North? If not, then you don't really need the "Snakes" Priority. Just have DPS take North/East and Supports South/West (or whatever configuration you want) Great guide as always, very much appreciated!
Towers are always opposite. The snake prio is required for the guns, as you may have to check 3 spots for the correct colour gun. Shabin uses it for towers too for consistency.
I don't think it's mentioned in the guide, I could be wrong but for the phase 1 tankbusters, the boss will get in an autoattack in before the debuff wears off, so it can be best to just mitigate the first hit and then invuln the second just to ensure the invuln goes through the buster just to assure the auto attack doesnt kill you if your invuln timing is a bit early and so white mages dont benediction you too early if you have any.
If you timed it right (just before the tankbuster goes off), the vuln will drop off between auto attacks and you can use your short tank CD/self-heals to bring your HP back up or protect yourself for that sneaky last one. I did it as a WAR, so it was as simple as Bloodwhetting as the vuln fell off and Thrill+Equilibrium, but the other tanks should likewise have something to protect themselves.
Progging this now and literally everything about Witch Hunt I've understood backwards for some reason lol. My Critical Listening standardized test scores coming back to haunt me...
Dunno if you'll read this or not, but just wanted to say you're the GOAT Hector. I've already cleared the tier and OCE kinda does it's own thing in PF, but I'll always support you and your work. You were my static's lifeline for the entirety of the panda raids and you greatly assisted my understanding of the mechanics so that I could be a better shotcaller. I appreciate you and hope you keep up the wonderful work. Oh, and best of luck to everyone going for the clear :) You all got this
I no longer trust pastebin in pf, ppl are always adding the most ratchet positions for dealing with mechanics haha. Like boss relative positions to mechanics that AREN'T BOSS RELATIVE!!! I am put on full tilt when I read stuff like that lol
is there a way to actually place the waymarks for the autocad strat midfight? or do you have to place them before you even start phase 1? cuz technically you cant place them in combat? (also HUGE thanks for the Guide Hector!)
I’d recommend making a small amendment to mustard bomb which is to make the non hit players go to the tanks and back to their spot instead of the other way around.
I've yet to see this not leave one healer so I assume its always a healer and a DPS. I'd rather the healer keep casting. Same goes for the M Ranged. Tanks can move. slide cast once towards the tank is a reasonable ask though
That’s what I’m saying bro 😂😂😂literally just move while pressing a single button. But these comments 😂😂😂. Nahhhhh let’s make casters break rotations and lose uptime instead, definitely much better, right? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey just wanted to say thank you for all the work you put in these guides. Me and a friend are using them to clear our first savage tier ever. Keep up the good work
Would you be willing to make a mini guide on Team DN’s Witch Hunt? Personally, I found it required much less thinking to resolve Narrowing/Widening Witch Hunt using this strat.
for prog, i think just always doing THMR for witch hunt is best. theres a 50% chance that this "uptime strat" actually even gets you more uptime since even if tanks and melees have close baits, if its an out simultaneously it really doesnt help them much and having to flex will assuredly cause more wipes to this mechanic. Optimize later, prog and get your first clear with strats that are as simple as possible.
Would love to see all combos of midnight. Gets glanced over but can be so deceptive. Had to look up a bunch of povs to find the double cannon/double bird combos
Before you decide to use this strat please check out OQ5 and Q-Go, especially if you are on EU. Its slightly modified Rinon but is way simpler, consistent and less prone to errors on Narrowing/Widening, EE2, Mustard Bomb and Midnight Sabaath.
@@Shanna244 he said most of PF doing OQ5 and Q-Go, hecor is rly smilar to that only few positioning is diffrent in some mechanics but overall is worth to learn both, ofc you can learn only hector way but keep in mind it will be harder for u to find party specially kill partys using OQ5 and Q-Go, becasue they get used to it. personallly i dont like hector mustard bomb but i guess its to personal preferences
@@matysq007 you have more ppl in PF with the both Raidplan NOW. But since he posted this guide, more and more ppl use his Strat to practice. If more ppl get the kill, more Hector Killpartys you will see in PF. Like always. Week 1 and Week 2 ppl use the Raidplan and trolling all time the Hector Groups. 🤬😡
unfortunately it seems Hector is already the main strat adopted on prog parties... I didn't feel this yesterday on reclears but I fear I'll have to memorize yet another spread position that doesn't really add much to what we were already doing.. I'm sure as hell not accepting this mustard bomb heresy though...
I believe shabin does that to avoid forcing a picto/blm to have to move. My static personally had the hit players move to the tanks, but both variations work fine.
@@HectorHectorson picto has more than enough movement and black mage can teleport to another player. This is just higher risk in PF with no reward. Am i missing some huge benefit here?
why make a caster/healer move when a tank loses nothing by having to move? it's not like it's particularly difficult for a tank to tell who to pass to.
Why make a healer/caster move versus a jump that can move with no downtime? Makes no sense to tease your gcd to slidecast over to the tank to cause a fuck up versus just having the tank move. You must be a tank player who just wants to be lazy.
@@lilzael helo, got a combined healer parse of 99 on week 1 doing squishies move for mustard bomb. The strat in this video is just begging for a wipe depending on how the tanks face their camera. Forcing your tank to solve the mechanic for you reeks of incompetence and asking to get carried
Thanks as always for the timely, but detailed guides :) I suspect fellow EU players might bristle a little, but I don't think it's warranted as the differences to the common raidplans are very minor positional differences. Whether or not OQ5 and Q-Go have staying power, this isn't going to rock the boat or be hard to switch to. The only major difference is in Mustard Bomb, having tanks pass the debuff themselves, as opposed to a P12 style conga line. To be fair the version in this video looks like less movement, so is probably superior. Only tanks need to watch for who gets hit too as opposed to everyone else. And of course, if you'd rather do colours instead of rotation for Midnight for example, you still can! Just double check everybody's on the same page before pulling
Thing with Mustard Bomb is that nobody would actually have to visually see who does and doesn't get hit if the two players *not* getting hit present themselves in some way. Conga line makes this literally free since those two players will simply start moving forwards and can adjust to each other, with zero risk of a fire person getting passed a debuff.
Really good stuff on all guides you put out this tier! However, it's very, VERY bizzare to me why you suddenly decide to have the pairs move CCW instead of CW during Midnight Sabath. It literally goes against everything you've done in the other guides (they're either CW or color based, this one is NEITHER). Is there any particular reason why, I'm very curious! Great stuff otherwise.
This guide was designed to be fully compatible with the Shabin pastebin used in NA, so as to minimise people having to relearn any of the fight if my guide was used in PF. My own group does CW, but it’s just personal preference.
For Midnight Sabbath: If you have to move to dodge the first clone by going counter clockwise, but then you have to rotate again to dodge the second clone, do you go counter clockwise again or go back to where you started?
Good question! Did you find out what to do in that case? I didn’t think about it, and I just started progging phase 2 Edit: yeah, so after you dodge ccw and you gotta move again, you go back to your original spot, you don’t keep rotating ccw
The witch hunt explanation is good in understanding the mechanic, but it doesn't follow Shaba pastepin exactly, which is confusing people in PF from what I am seeing.
curious why you put 3 supports north and 2 south during ee2, when they bait their explosions opposite? ik it's relative vs tn but wondered if there was a reason
3s in front 2s in back is just how the shaba bin did it arbitrarily + the orientation of spreads/stacks has no bearing on the orientation of lightning cage, the distance you have to move before/after stacks is completely random.
M4S Hector was probably my least favorite time in party finder that I've had in a long time since learning UWU. I'm not even gonna sugarcoat it, the fact that I'm researching a raid with video material, correctly setting my PF description to "Hector, Normal Sunrise" and still getting these Raidplan Neo Terrorists who grief lobbies and go "OOPS THIS IS HECTOR? SRY" is infuriating. It legitimately upset me this time around. Raidplan dominated M4S with the raidplan trolling. I'm normally lenient on people who are learning, but people who straight up won't read PF descriptions and grief parties deserve much more than a blacklist, they deserve a party finder suspension.
For braindead in windening/narrowing. For Tanks. If first cast of the boss is near. Then Near, near, far, near. If first is far. Near, near, near, far. For melee. If first is near. Far,near, near, near. If first is far. Near, far, near, near. For healer. If first is near. Far,Far, Far, near. If first is far. Far,Far,near, far. For ranger If first is near. Far,near, far, far. If first is far. Near, far, far, far. With this technic you need to pay attention If it is in out in out or out in out in.
Placing them after the fight is over doesn't help that either. The only way to get placements that work is by placing them and doing the fight and then adjusting until they work. Unless there's an addon that lets you place them mid combat, idk.
if melee are southeast and southwest & close baits are under boss they will overlap them killing the tank and eachother......... if they dont get killed by the tank's close bait first which is likely......
Noticed @ 9:44 there's a Melee and a Ranged together... I'd hope if you see your 'ranged' DPS one has it and one doesn't, they'd stack together for melee uptime.
On EE2, you have a mistake on the initial beams going to the debuffs. Short players will either get hit two or three times, and long players will get hit one or two times. The one turns into a 2 after the partner/spread and the two turns into a 3 after the partner/spread.
Not a mistake. The long "3s" are only hit twice. I just recommend people add their additional 1 right at the start for ease of remembering the mechanic. This means when I show "3s" and "2s" paired, it is really short 3 + long 2 and Short 2 + long 1.
I like the guide however I dislike that for some mechanics, e.g. the first witch hunt, you just skip and are like "It works basically the same, so I won't show it." I don't see the harm in showing it anyways just so it's more complete for the people who may be struggling with the mechanic, it also helps in a static when trying to explain the mechanic in other words.
There's no point in padding the runtime of an already nearly 30 minute video. Information overload is also a thing. Going into minute detail over every aspect of the mechanic is likely to just leave more people confused. It's best to just get the gist of the mechanics and how to solve them and then learn through practical application, as in just going into the fight and doing it, which will give you a much better understanding than watching a guide alone would.
@@SLEEPYDOGINUso if its 2 guns and the first one spawns in cardinal, as a melee I will stay in my safe spot right? And then rotate ccw for the second gun in inter-cardinal
thank you for this Guide :D but on Mustard Bombs why the tanks should go to an non attacked player? much easier if the non hit player go to the tank? they know to the beginning where the bombs are :D
As someone who progged through this and landed on the same strat this video shows: It's because the tanks only have to find 1 player and go to them, but if you have the players move, they need to look at 2 things: The tanks and the OTHER player that doesn't get it, cause otherwise two players might go to the same tank. For example, imagine if M1 and R1 both don't get hit. M1 naturally runs to MT, but R1 is also closer to MT and will naturally run towards them unless they noticed that M1 got hit as well, which is additional mental load. We ran into thsi exact problem once or twice before we changed the strat to this. Also, another benefit of having the tanks move: If a caster needs to get the debuff, they can just stand there and wait for the tank instead of running back and forth, potentially losing uptime.
I'm from EU and all I want to say is, that your guides are waaaaaaaay better than those others. In my PF most people use OQ5 or something. Which makes it nonsense complicated at times. Yours are way better, fuck OQ5
Good work. We figured out easier way to tell safe exa flare Pos. If you look opposite end of the arena there’s only one aoe on the edge on the opposite side that doesn’t point towards your group= safe lane…. *edit* And now I’m seeing about 385847382 other people reported this too xddd. Have a good weekend
There are two types of people in this world: 1) The doers 2) The people who come after and criticize who think they can do it better. Hint: 99% of the time they can't do it better, and if they did they'd show you.
Reuploaded due to a small position mixup during intermission in the original version.

It's Shabin.
In our current most popular raidplan for P1 (EE2 Uptime, known as 'OQ5') we don't +1 the long debuff counter and do our stacks like this:
DPS: Short2 + Long2 = Flank
DPS: Short3 + Long1 = Rear
Support: Short2 + Long2 = Under
Support: Short3 + Long1 = Front
In this guide, it's instead this (long debuffs are +1):
DPS: Short3 + Long2(+1) = Flank
DPS: Short 2 + Long1(+1) = Under
Support: Short2 + Long1(+1) = Rear
Support: Short3 + Long2(+1) = Front
Spread positions are also completely different:
OQ5:
MT: Under
OT: Front
M1: Flank
M2: Rear
H1: Front far
H2: Front far (off to side)
R1: Rear far
R2: Rear far (off to side)
Hector:
MT: Front
OT: Rear
M1: Under
M2: Flank
H1: Front far (off to side)
H2: Rear far (off to side)
R1: Front far
R2: Rear far
If you put up a PF either under the OQ5 or Hector for next week's reclear or prog, make sure that everyone is on the same page about what the pairs and spread positions are for EE2 so you can-
who am I kidding, we're all doomed
This was my first time stepping into Savage and I would not have been able to do it as well as I did without you and your guides. Thank you for all the work, it is greatly appreciated :D
Like a lot of other people, I literally would not be savage raiding if it weren't for you, Hector. You're literally the sole pillar supporting NA party finder from devolving into impudent chaos.
I do think Witch hunt could be described a little better to match Shabin as DN specifically has people doing their bait positions when it's their role's turn
example as a melee for 3rd and 4th baits I'm always most in no matter what and ranged dps always go out
I play only like in your guides....
Since this has been reuploaded, I'll re-post my comment I left regarding an easier way to read Exas.
EASIER WAY TO READ EXAFLARES -
You don't need to read TWO arrows, only ever ONE.
The first safe spot is the high % play.
oh god bless
@@jseck91 "Hector's explanation was way too complicated" looking for two arrows is too complicated? bruv.
X marks the safe spots.

thank you for your work and effort on making this pain in the ass mechanic more braindead
@@Bearpigman thank you! My static was trying the billibilli Strat on day 4 and was frustrated at the “loose” spots that was causing clipping. I happened to have the tools to find out how to create exact markers. Figured we would share it and didn’t expect it to become popular at all.
did you call it autocad cause of the program ? lool i just wanna understand the naming convention
Got all the clears on M1-M4S. Definitely appreciate your guides, they helped out so much.
i love you hector you've helped me out with multiple tiers now at this point so i just want to be vocal and tell you i appreciate the effort and i hope you continue to keep making strategy videos in the future man thank you
i like how electrope edge works somewhat similar to mouser
they really are sisters
Savage arena for m4s has really nice touches if you take a look at the background skybox during phase 2
They also both summon clones, have half room cleaves, and have an arena divided into tiles.
The melody of their fight theme is essentially the same, same thing again with the gym they train in.
Match = baits away from marker
Opposite= baits on marker
Hey bro. Just wanted to say thank you for making these. Seeing where I should be placed and then actually doing it is the exact way I learn. You got me through m1s-m3s in less then two weeks and now I'm here proging m4s. So thank you mate, appreciate the work you put in.
Can already see the fights in EU PF because of all the spread spots being different from the stuff used for the last 2 weeks
This would happen anyway tbh lol
With this it doesn't matter whether ranged or melee get picked everyone should still be dodging it safely, provided the ranged baiters take an extra step out and the tanks go center of the waymarks on an out
nice way to think of it
really helpful ngl
The way I do it is if it's Narrowing you're only ever ON your waymark when it's time to bait. If it's Widening you're only ever OFF your waymark when it's time to bait.
Gonna keep this in mind when learning, thank you
what is my baiting position and dodging position?

Easy way to think about witch hunt:
If the first bait aligns with the first witch hunt, you do the opposite of the witch hunt unless its your turn.
E.x., widening with far-close-far-close you would be near + in-far + out-near + in-far + out EXCEPT for your specific bait.
If they don't align, you do the same as the witch hunt unless its your turn to bait.
E.x., widening with close-far-close-far would be far + out - in + near - far + out - in + near unless its your turn.
that's the best way to think about it for me but it's still kicking my ass it's pretty hard!
thank you for this. this is so much clearer than any other guide I have watched. a very clear "this happens, do this" :3
First full on-content Savage tier clear thanks to you. You're the best and thank you for all you do for the raiding community.
I cleared all fights befofre you guides but i always watch them no matter what because they help me understand and even learn things i didnt get before, been watching your guides since Asphodelos keep up the amazing work.
Side note: Phase 2 autos HURT, MT gets chunked heavily during certain mechs
very good explanation. idk if ill remember it all in the moment. but everything is more clearer now. hopefully i get it done tomorrow.
being able to watch this along with the shabin pastebin for my pausing and reading has immensely helped.
Can't wait to try my best at M4S this week!

nice guide thank you. im always happy to look at the guides that shows exacly the positionals. im also very hyped for next extriime fight, and i do hope you are the guide for it ones it arrives.
I'm here for the cat at the end
Just wanted to say thanks again for these guides. You're an absolute life saver!
Thanks for the fix on the intermission visuals!
I’d rather the guide be as helpful as possible. Thanks for the help!
Thanks for the re upload and leaving the kitteh in 26:15
Thanks for the video, my group is currently progging ion cluster.
I swear to god, you keep posting the guide for the next fight as soon as we clear the last one. Got out of M3S like half an hour ago XD
Got out of there just in time then LMAO
Thanks a lot for the guides, Hector! I always love how you explain stuff and show clear visuals for the fight
Thanks for taking the time to do these. I have been raiding for two tiers now and don't know if I could have ever done it without your awesome guides
Just have DPS take North/East and Supports South/West (or whatever configuration you want)
Great guide as always, very much appreciated!
Towers are always opposite. The snake prio is required for the guns, as you may have to check 3 spots for the correct colour gun. Shabin uses it for towers too for consistency.
@@HectorHectorson I see, thanks for elaborating!
Thanks Hector was progging this. Watching this in my free time feels a lot more impactful than staring at a pastebin.
Oh, and best of luck to everyone going for the clear :) You all got this
I love your guides it sucked that i cleared before these got uploaded but great job nonetheless ❤
hey man this is a good guide thanks for following the pastebin
I no longer trust pastebin in pf, ppl are always adding the most ratchet positions for dealing with mechanics haha. Like boss relative positions to mechanics that AREN'T BOSS RELATIVE!!! I am put on full tilt when I read stuff like that lol
I was able to clear the entire savage tier for the first time thanks to your guides.
is there a way to actually place the waymarks for the autocad strat midfight? or do you have to place them before you even start phase 1? cuz technically you cant place them in combat? (also HUGE thanks for the Guide Hector!)
You can't place them midfight. If you want to do autocad, you'll have to go without 4 of your waymarks in phase 1.
@@HectorHectorson Ahhh so you place the Waymarks for autocad from the start basically, I see! Thanks for the reply!
I’d recommend making a small amendment to mustard bomb which is to make the non hit players go to the tanks and back to their spot instead of the other way around.
*angry blm noises*. But I'm fine with it in other strats, since I can just zapp over without needing to go back
@@alyenalyen3885 Strats should appeal to the majority and require the least brain load.

Would you be willing to make a mini guide on Team DN’s Witch Hunt? Personally, I found it required much less thinking to resolve Narrowing/Widening Witch Hunt using this strat.
Just in time for my m4s prog, thanks! :)
for prog, i think just always doing THMR for witch hunt is best. theres a 50% chance that this "uptime strat" actually even gets you more uptime since even if tanks and melees have close baits, if its an out simultaneously it really doesnt help them much and having to flex will assuredly cause more wipes to this mechanic. Optimize later, prog and get your first clear with strats that are as simple as possible.
Its better for PF for him to have a similar strat to the pastebin, and uptime witchhunt is not that much harder nor is it more thinking
Would love to see all combos of midnight. Gets glanced over but can be so deceptive. Had to look up a bunch of povs to find the double cannon/double bird combos
Before you decide to use this strat please check out OQ5 and Q-Go, especially if you are on EU. Its slightly modified Rinon but is way simpler, consistent and less prone to errors on Narrowing/Widening, EE2, Mustard Bomb and Midnight Sabaath.
no. :) Hector much easier for me, dont care about the raidplans and trolling ppl in pf, that join "Oh Hector? Im out".

I'm sure as hell not accepting this mustard bomb heresy though...
We love u Hector 🎉 Thanks for your Guides!
why have the tanks monitor 6 other players in mustard bomb instead of the others looking at just their own hp bar?
Thanks as always for the timely, but detailed guides :)
I suspect fellow EU players might bristle a little, but I don't think it's warranted as the differences to the common raidplans are very minor positional differences.
Conga line makes this literally free since those two players will simply start moving forwards and can adjust to each other, with zero risk of a fire person getting passed a debuff.
thank mate, nice guide, its really helpfull !
Hey! the pastebin attached to the video is deleted by the website. just an FYI
Quick Question. Why rotate 180 when a mirror is easier and it keeps g1 west and g2 east since we use that for all of the fights?
I didn’t think about it, and I just started progging phase 2
Edit: yeah, so after you dodge ccw and you gotta move again, you go back to your original spot, you don’t keep rotating ccw
The witch hunt explanation is good in understanding the mechanic, but it doesn't follow Shaba pastepin exactly, which is confusing people in PF from what I am seeing.
THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT THAT'S WHY HE'S MVP THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT THE GOATTT
curious why you put 3 supports north and 2 south during ee2, when they bait their explosions opposite? ik it's relative vs tn but wondered if there was a reason
3s in front 2s in back is just how the shaba bin did it arbitrarily + the orientation of spreads/stacks has no bearing on the orientation of lightning cage, the distance you have to move before/after stacks is completely random.
Electrope Edge 1, are the 2 possible safe corners always diagonal to each other?
No. They can be adjacent (both north or both south)
Far,Far,near,far.
For ranger If first is near. Far,near, far, far.
If first is far. Near, far, far, far.
With this technic you need to pay attention If it is in out in out or out in out in.
This fight seems fun
And there I am, still stuck on PF m2s..
24:55 You don't need to beat the fight to mark the other platform. Just turn around and place them on it at the spawn.
Placing them is one thing. Positioning them precisely enough for uptime sunrise is another.
Placing them after the fight is over doesn't help that either. The only way to get placements that work is by placing them and doing the fight and then adjusting until they work. Unless there's an addon that lets you place them mid combat, idk.
🤡🤡🤡
thank you hec you are a godsend ♥
The healer/melee swap in Narrow/widening makes no sense so can some explain why thats being done here?
if melee are southeast and southwest & close baits are under boss they will overlap them killing the tank and eachother......... if they dont get killed by the tank's close bait first which is likely......
Noticed @ 9:44 there's a Melee and a Ranged together... I'd hope if you see your 'ranged' DPS one has it and one doesn't, they'd stack together for melee uptime.
All 4 “pair” positions allow for uptime if everyone is max melee.
0:10 and demure
I am here for the cat.
Thanks!
Thank you so much ❤
For midnight sabbath would you keep rotating ccw if it was two birds for the pattern?
no, you go back to your original spot, your safespots are just your marker + 1 ccw spot
Do you know why there are so many uptime sunrise parties in pf? Because normal sunrise parties just clear
4:12 Mickey!!
I'm from EU and all I want to say is, that your guides are waaaaaaaay better than those others. In my PF most people use OQ5 or something. Which makes it nonsense complicated at times.
Yours are way better, fuck OQ5
Is there any reason as to why partner stacks positions are swapped from the detonation spots in ee2? I.e. 2 hits stack south and 3 hits stack north?
ty for the cat at the end, helps with mental whiplash
EE2 could be better explained on pairs.
Thanks, Hector!
You make this the final boss fight of a raid tier in WoW. Also make addons unusable (dbm) and I believe very few guilds will be able to kill it.
