The actual, genuine, and visible love between these two guys makes me endlessly happy.
it made me tear up!
"I didn't realize you were allowed to tell jokes on this show" is a ROASTING hot burn.
"Kirkland Brand Ricky Gervais" is possibly one of the funniest insults ive heard in years
I didn't get that joke. Can someone explain it? ty
@@videogadabout Ricky Gervais played the original manager in the British Office series (2001), the American Office came out 4 yrs later which Steve Carell played basically the same character. Kirkland brand is Costco's discount knockoff brands. Basically Colbert called Carell a cheap knockoff.
@@CelticWarriorWoman I did not know Kirkland was a Costco brand. Now I get it. I felt the American Office has a completely different tone than the British Office. The British version uses dark humor whereas the American version is sugar coated like many American TV shows. So in a way it was a cheap knockoff. But never the less they are both great TV shows. Thanks for the explanation. 😃
@@CelticWarriorWomanthanks 😊
Kirkland lowkey underrated though 👀
“At this point, I thought you worked mostly with minions” was a great line. 😂
To this day, Even Stevphen is one of my favorite Daily Show bits
Same! I'm happy I'm still as excited to see it as I was as a teenager.
It's my second favorite after this week in religion and just above the Arby's hate
It's my 2nd favourite after "This week in God" 😂😂
Saaaame. I will go back and rewatch them sometimes.
It was always great because these two are such fluid performers. They prepare well and can make a loosely rehearsed bit look extremely polished. Their improv backgrounds served them well.
BTW Carrel's quick bit of 'We are all astride the grave...' is a paraphrase from Beckett's "Waiting for Godot."
God these two could do Godot, couldn’t they!
@@shinyshinythingsI’d pay to see that!
Heck yes.
Happy 60th Stephen Colbert! How freaking cool that Steve celebrated this milestone with his long-standing friend and partner-in-riffing. So Cool.
Colbert/Carrell, such great improv sparring partners.
So good together. .. or at odds 😆
Happy birthday 🎂 Steven enjoy you day lovein your show, many good nights spending with you ,you shine
“You were younger then!” Lovely 😊
"You are oldest Sheldon" OMG I spit my coffee on that one 🤣😂🤣
OMG...SAME!!!
I damn near lost it here and also when Stephen called Steve "Kirkland brand Ricky Gervais"
I know, right?!
Can someone explain it to me 😅? Sheldon and Kirkland based RG?
@@AbuRas0 Sheldon refer to the Big Bang Theory main character, Sheldon. That serie last 10 years I believe. Subsequently they created another serie called Young Sheldon as the same Sheldon but younger.
"Kikland brand Ricky Gervais." Had me on the floor laughing. Happy birthday, Stephen. 60 is great!
I don’t get it.
@@areyoufriendly The original (British) version of _The Office_ starred Ricky Gervais, while Steve Carell played the corresponding character in the American version.
I spat out my tea as soon as I heard this one!
I love that they used the same low resolution graphic from the Daily Show.
I miss these guys arguing. I like to watch.
😂 @ “I like to watch.” 🫣
Loved that one! Subdued yet kinky ;-)
BEST comment here🤣
creep
YYYEEEEEEEESSSSSS
That was the greatest moment for me in late night tv. I’m 63. Thanks 🙏 2 Stephen’s
Personally, I'd give it five Stephens (also 63)
Ditto, I’m 64, and I agree❣️
@@Sandi-ke9mi I'm 63 also. Nice to know there are many people our age watching this funny show.
Second❤
You mean "Stevphen" lolol
Im so impressed, they kept their faces straight all the way through!
The defintive argument! " SHEEEEEUT UP!"
Awww! How wholesome! Waldorf and Stattler holding hands!
Steve: NOOOO! 😂😂😂😂
Love these 2 gentlemen. A good, funny, and aging duo. Best segment for Stephen's birthday.😂😂😂
Comedy and music save my life daily. Thank you all for keeping me alive.
That is the most like myself comment I have ever seen. Well worded too. Thank you.
@@kamenanew9867 thanks- that was kind in a world
Of nonsense. And it’s insanely true :)
@@kamenanew9867 perhaps we should be friends!! ☺️
I think this just may be about the most brilliant segment I’ve seen… it has so many layers I think I’ve already aged a year just watching it!
These are too good. Between the viscous burns and them trying to keep a straight face….really moves the needle. 😏
Moving the needle does get tougher with age. 😂🤣
@@scottcampbell96 Scott u didn’t 😂
OMG. The "Kirkland" reference right after watching a clip from, "Idiocracy" that takes place in a super-mega Costco!
Even Steven was the best segment of the daily show. There should be more of such kind
Even Stevphen was one of my favorite Daily Show bits, I was hoping they would bring that bit back when I saw Carell would be on tonight, but was still surprised when they actually did. Loved it!
It was just a blast back when Stephen would be passionately defending the Spanish Inquisition, good times
Ok.. i just made myself cry!! I saw the title and it took me back to the days. This is ur bday… but it was a gift to all of us!!!! Thank you.
60 is the new 40, a man’s prime. Happy birthday Stephen. 🎂
Yeah I keep telling myself 40 is the new 20. 😌
I just turned 60 I don’t look my age but boy did I feel better at 40
@@aminghadirian Everyone knows that 40 is the new 30, duh. We ALL know you have a fully developed prefrontal cortex. Grooooss (said Gen A) 🤣
*but honestly, 20? Not even 20 yo’s want to be 20 😅
@@aminghadirian - And orange is the new black.
Oh yeah if you can make it there.
Wow, this is a blast from the past
Thank you Evie, for getting this ‘cheese’ to age well
This is so emotionally intelligent and sweet. Awww my heart has melted for these two again. I love you guys 😂❤
Theres some not-so Ambiguously Gay Duo stuff happening here. And I'm here for it :)
They're doing squat thrusts!
What's everyone looking at?
@@joekelly9941 NOTHING!!
HERE FOR IT!!! 😂😂😂
Nah, just a multi-decade bromance.
A great bit. Totally original, totally unexpected! Two comedic geniuses at work!
“You’re Kirkland brand Ricky Gervais” lol!
These guys are so brilliant together.
Happy birthday, Stephen! You are like a fine wine that only gets better with age!
"Your oldest Sheldon.."
Happy Birthday, Stephen Colbert 🎉 🎂
2:27 “I just did the monologue, right over there” is possibly the most subtle poop joke ever.
Oh, I'm getting old. Five years ago, that wouldn't have gone right over my head.
Ok, now it's twice as funny!!! 😂😂😂 That joke keeps giving!!
The two old men from the Muppets😊😊😊😊😊😊
Aging…….beats the alternative 🤓😁
Yeah, I was waiting for that.....
Point.😂
🙋🏻♂️ I should have died multiple times in my teens and 20s from a motorcycle addiction that I quit 24 years ago I somehow made it to 51 🎅🏽
Always.
Well, we don't actually KNOW that. And besides the unknown factor, I'd say it also depends on the circumstances.
Happy birthday, old man Stephen! 😂🎉 It’s always so much fun to see these 2 together. ❤
"The only thing bigger than your denial is the font on your phone, old man!" I'm sorry but Steve Carell can do whatever he wants to me and my entire being, and knowing him, he'd treat me with respect.
Happy Birthday Stephen! 🎂🎉
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I sure miss the early 2000's, when i, too, was in my prime. Best years of my life.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. And I LOVE it!
That was a gift for All of US! Happy Stephan Colberts Birthday Everybody!!
John Stewart is sitting at home, tears rolling down his cheeks, feeling joyous and grateful.❤
"Oldest Sheldon"....priceless.
Fun fact: People who have the most birthdays, live the longest.
Another fun fact: the longer you live, the older you get.
@@mori1bund Fun fact adjacent: If you don't buy a calendar, you don't age. 😉
@@LisaLisa001 I have to try that! 😄
@@mori1bund I think I read that on a calendar! Can't fact check it though because they obviously went out of business. 😀 Lol I gotta stop watching comedy and go to work. Have a great day!
@@LisaLisa001😮😭😭😭😮 didn't know that all it took was to not buy calendars. So if I already have next years' calendar, am I doomed?
The Bromance is eternal. 🤜🤛
Happy birthday Mr Colbert! May you make us laugh for decades to come.
Hilarious. I really enjoy these bits. It is sharper humor in one go than most weeks combined.
May we all find a friendship like these 2 have 🤣🤣🥰
The Ambiguously Gay Duo!!!
Not so ambiguous... 😉💛
Who is Ace and who is Gary?!?
😂😂😂
@@christophermerlot3366 Steve is Ace and Stephen is Gary.
6:55 That "Yeeeessss" by Steve Carell is meme gold.. my neice just made me repeat it like a dozen times, everytime laughing out loud!
“You’re Kirkland brand Ricky Gervais” 🤣🤣🤣
The boys are back! Get Rocca, Riggleman & Corddry up in this bee-eye bee-eye!!!
And the cherry on top. John Oliver 💯

@@aamesquita3178 yeah, sure a few ancillaries too. Maaaybe Lewis Black wth?
Ha! I just turned 62 so I got you both beat! Happy Birthday Stephen! May you have many more.
I can't NOT love these guys and their friendship. Warms my heart during these otherwise dark times.
This segment is great. Too funny
Happy Birthday 🎂🎉 Steven Colbert 🤗😘
"Oldest Sheldon," is the best line ever!
Happy Birthday, Stephen!
Aging... it's better than the alternative ! 😁😁
De-aging?
@@nicholassmith7984 sleeping for ever
"You were younger then!"
“We were both in that movie.” 😂
Best segment, past and present
I still miss the Produce Pete ones. UA-cam used to have a bunch before Viacom cracked the whip.
Happy birthday Mr Colbert. May you live long and prosper, and may you continue to be funny and awesome
Brought back memories. They were just two young lads back in the day. And so was I.
That's a keeper.
That "Welcome to Marwen" burn was savage 😂
Holy shit Carrell KILLED IT here.
Like crazy ; right??!!!
Always loved the Even Steven segments on the Daily Show, thanks for bringing it back guys
"Kirkland brand Ricky Gervais" 😂
Kirkland brand Ricky Gervais and Oldest Sheldon were both great.
Steve is wearing Stephen’s show time suit. I recognise the tie!
My grandpa always tells me about how he used to watch these two on the Daily Show in his youth, nice to finally see one
That hurt a little bit.
I've been telling people about the good old days of Even Stevphen on the Daily Show for so long now it feels like a fairy tale. Everyone agrees Carell v Colbert was (or would've been, as the case may be) something to see. Super stoked to see this clip pop up on my feed! Happy birthday Stevphens, one and all!
Comedy is oxygen.
“Kirkland brand Ricky gervais” love it!
So good to see you two together.
I'm from Chicago and been a fan of both of you since EARLY in your careers and celebrated each of your breakthroughs as they came.
Sooooo good to see you together again
Two of my favourite people!!! 💖💖
Happy Birthday Stephen! 🥳🎉🎈🎂
Lots of love from Scotland 🏴🇬🇧🌍🥳
I’ve been watching these guys since I was their age. They both just get better and better with time. Also, that dig about “Marwen” was amazing.
The real dig was the audience's absolute silence.
Their friendship is so genuine! ❤️
I missed this bit SO much. It was wonderful to see them back at it!
My two favorite Steves. I'm in comedy heaven right now!
Happy Birthday Stephen! Love your show, it's the best thing on TV! Miss seeing your wonderful wife!
The minions line was the best.
Being from Australia, we never saw Even Stephen. I didn't even know these two were so tight. It's very good to watch.
I love how the audience reaction to the mention of Welcome to Marwen proves Stephen's point beyond any possible doubt
The Tao of Steves strikes again. Blessings and 🎉 to us old guys. Party on, wayward sons.
the welcome to marwen joke is hilarious
Great moment for anyone that watched TDS back in the days. Great fan service and happy birthday Stephen!
This was one of my favourite bit from the pre-Colbert Report days. These two are so good together.
Happy Birthday..!! You have been a source of facts, entertainment, and just pure joy most of my life, and u am so grateful for that! Have a great birthday and hope you and yours are doing epically..! Love you and yours..!❤🎉😊
Oh my goodness, I couldn't be more delighted seeing them back in character!
Carell did so well! He was able to fall right back into the cadence and tone of this character!
Thank you for spelling it Stevphen! I can't get that dog with the lip pulled back outta my head now, LoL !
That minions line killed
I’ve been hoping to see them return to Even Stevphen for years, should’ve been a yearly ritual.😍😍😍
I enjoyed Stephen's portrayal of a drugged up news anchor seated beside Jim Gaffigan in the Love Guru. Hilarity and Hockey rarely meet on the same screen.😂
Happy birthday Stephen and how wonderful to see you with your best friend doing a silly thing!
