I've experienced this before. When my mom died, I felt as if reality split in two. That a past version of myself stayed behind to when she was alive, and a future me went forward into a world I didn't recognize. I often wondered when I would be able to "go back," as if it was just some dream that I was having. It changed the way I even grasped the concept of time. 2019, 2020, 2021, were just numbers to me. Finding myself in me was so very difficult, and I changed a lot after what happened. But just like that rainbow strobe at the end of the video, all of those versions of me became one. I finally discovered who "I" was. Through our deepest pain comes our greatest happiness, sometimes. Absolute masterpiece of a song, and a record. Thank you IA.
This was beautiful, thank you for sharing! I am dealing with a variety of health issues and am on the journey of finding me within myself. Reconciling all the positive and negative experiences into a coherent version of me is proving difficult but is the only path forwards.
For the love of God make a T shirt with that frame of the woman in front of the moon before that massacre of a breakdown! Definitely my favorite music video IA has released for one of my favorite tracks.
My daughter was in open heart surgery moments after being born. She is thriving now, thankfully. She's special needs and has trouble communicating verbally, but we've discovered she has my taste for energetic metalcore/deathcore. Figured it might scare her, but she screams and growls happily along with a big grin as soon as the playlist starts. Enjoy the tiny days, they're precious and pass quickly. God bless.
I have a Metalcore playlist for my Toddler called Mad Jams, and I've been rocking her to sleep to it for 2 years. Invent Animate is usually the first artist we listen to. 🤘
They said this was both the heaviest and softest music they’ve ever made, and I had no idea how that description would translate when I heard the album, it’s a perfect description.
Invent Animate is literally the best metalcore band right now. No words can explain the intense emotions and feelings this album gives me. IA till the death 🔥
I don't know the next time we'll get an album like this again, one that is on repeat nonstop and always feels like you're listening to it for the first time. Absolutely album of the year.
@@cloudrise I just want to say that I was listening from day one, its still my favorite album, and the song without a whisper is actually what introduced me to metal. Ended up in my recommended by some act of god and now I have a 300 song metal playlist, but it started with this album. I remember not even really "getting it" when I first listened to this song but when the breakdown hit at 2:10 I got hooked to metal like a drug. I didn't like the screaming yet, but the drums on this track went beyond that. 3:25 and onwards is what I think edging is in audio form. I still think the drummer is the best alive right now. Listen to 2:45 and tell me he isn't top 5. Brother is cracked.
Possibly my favorite song of the year. I swear...somehow these guys manifested all the imagery my brain conjures from this song, into this video. Incredible.
One of the best songs this decade for me. The middle breakdown destroys me and the end breakdown gives me such huge amount of emotions no other song have ever given, it literally gives me tears, so strong it is
It’s my first time hearing this awesome album, but man this song hits different with the video. Pain is universal, but as a girl w a chronic incurable disease and dealing w pain on a daily basis, it just changes you. Thank you for being unafraid to speak to those deep, dark feelings. I feel so validated & this song itself is mastery.
The whole album is a masterpiece. I love how this song in particular can switch between ambiance and earth-shattering, effortlessly, and in a way that works. I'm not usually one to watch music videos but I trust this band to make quality art after seeing The Sun Sleeps, As if it Never Was.
Best song on Heavener for me (and that's saying something lol). I love how it switches things up every 15 seconds. And the ending is one of the best breakdowns i have ever heard.
0:00-3:23: Impressive metalcore that just shows how talented the guys in IA truly are (and how they are unfairly underrated) 3:23-3:45: A melancholic moment of respite that slowly seeks to bring out the feels deep inside us. 3:45-4:06: The heavy build-up 4:07 onwards: one of the most beautifully gut-wrenching pieces of sonic art ever recorded by a metal band, one that makes us experience emotions we do not want to feel, but transport us to a place we want to last forever. In short, IA may have dropped their magnum opus, and this song has all the traits to become a classic.
@@CaptainFalcon92 I've heard Everchanger before. You have to stop thinking that everyone who likes the new records has never heard the old ones. This is pretty annoying.
Heavener has been album of the year and nothing has come close imo. This is probably my favorite song on the album its so heavy and blissful at the same time. Honestly insane
Album of the year for me hands down. This is one of those rare albums that I can listen to every song without any skips, and have a connection with each one. What a freakin experience!
this is by far one of the (if not THE) best album in the past few years in general. this album makes me feel so many things every single time i listen to it. and lemme tell ya ive had this thing on repeat since release. so proud and thankful for the Invent guys for pouring their everything into these songs (and videos) sorry long post. love yall :D
Ben's poetry has kept me going/alive and returned the "hope in my bones" literally. And marcus his poetry is now keeping me on the right path. Thanks IA. Ya'll are the best. I'd probably not be here if it weren't for Ya'll.
This song really spoke to me. As Marcus said, it's about identity crisis, from what feels like after death or loss of some kind. Their music helped me after the loss of my Dad a few years back, and Heavener made me shed more than a few tears. Immolation of Night though is incredibly empowering and made me proud of still being here after so much pain in the past. Stay strong and cheers to Invent Animate making a mark in our lives for the better 🤝
Let's GOOOOO! So glad this was chosen for the video! Plus Brody will be on drums and Trey an additional guitar for this. They should just make that the official lineup.
This is hands down one of my favorite songs I have ever heard. Just absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Beautifully heavy beyond words and the lyrics are sublime.
Is the kind of band that wakes up at 3 a.m., calls each other, gets together and works on that one little tiny thing they can't figure out .... and they LOVE it, that's why we love it 🤙
Stellar work to Chris and the team with this film. The ending breakdown + visuals made me cry (and I haven't felt emotional with this song before). I appreciate the aesthetic choices such as color changes and blur element in front of the lens. Only things which would've made it even better are 1) an alternate Marcus shot, and 2) more guitar shots as it is the main driving instrument, maybe a close-up during the technical parts.
There's something so special about the Heavener that puts this album higher in my list, simply because it feels like a fantastic step-up for a Metalcore in general. This album feels so perfectly well immersed with Ambient and Shoegaze, but at the same time has the incredible guitar riffs that include Djent and Thall into one piece of art, some incredible and unusual choruses i've personally never heard before, like at all? and very interesting melodies... The reason why the sound of this album is compared to so many different bands shows exactly that it's extremely wide in terms of a Metalcore sound. This is an amazing genre-defining album and i totally don't understand the people that consider this album the same and repititive, each song differs from each other but still remains in the main concept of the album with amazing transitions. Also i don't get that overrated take where people go with "it sounds completely like Architects" and so on, even if there are some similarities between the bands(what i personally cannot hear at all lol), Heavener introduces so much unique and incredible stuff that makes it completely fresh and opens a secret path before unseen. Not speaking of their previous albums and a particular song like "The Sun Sleeps" which is in my opinion one of the most unique metalcore songs ever. The only bands that i can think of when it's coming to the similarities or the elements that i can connect to Heavener in terms of the sound, are: Lost in Separation(2018), Arkive(2017), early Northlane, last album of Silent Planet, early Holding Absence and a little of Thornhill in there, some part of Vildhjarta too, while IA still got their own emotional and impactful sound. P.S - Heavener proves that Metalcore is not any way close to dying.
Ehrmergerd this song though 🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌🤌 your guitarist is like my favorite of all time! So djenty I love it! Please come to FL soon so I can come watch you guys live!! 🙏 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

By far the most frequently heard song on the album. I had already thought that this one could do with a lot more attention. My goodness, it's all so heartbreaking and beautiful.
That ending has got to be the most emotionally intense breakdown I've ever heard.

Just found out about them because Facebook kept pushing their tour with Northlane in my feed! Thank God they did and I just bought tix!

Low key best track on the album, that ending OMG
Not even low key, this was my favorite hands down. I am obsessed with the band but False Meridian is def in their top 5 they have made.
The most amazing progression about this album is how Marcus has improved in his vocal ability to become one of the best metalcore vocalists right now
