Thanks to you guys for doing this.There truly were some great molds in 93-94 that were held back by their color choices but they got a few of them right.I'm surprised that Viper v4 didn't make the list.I always felt that was a beast of a mold.
I liked this Viper too. Not quite as much as 1986 but still good. I can't help but to think that Cobra decided to make all Vipers into Toxo Vipers but decided to call them Vipers since they didn't want anybody deserting. After the 1992 Toxo Zombies, nobody would want to be a Toxo Viper. So Cobra had to do something. It's interesting when you put the 1992 Toxo Viper figure next to this Viper figure.
1994 was the last year that I collected and played with G.I. Joes. Looking back on it, I'm kind of glad that they stopped production of the line for 2 reasons: 1. G.I. Joe was making bizarre decisions regarding color schemes and sub lines. I remember passing up on figures because I had earlier versions that I liked better. In hindsight, I wish I hadn't done that. 2. I was in my mid teens and I felt it was time to move on. I think that those of us born around 1980, give or take a few years were the customer base for G.I. Joe and Hasbro knew we were aging out. Thanks Pegwarmers for doing every year. They were all worth watching.
Been waiting for this...NC Leader II, SB Cobra Commander etc not many figures this year but most were cool..If only they got another year and released the Manimals. I'd like you guys to to a top 10 Cobra troopers or even a top 10 Vipers.
A Metal-Head figure in a year where shoulder-mounted rocket launchers were a standard accessory. It's like watching Sci-Fi in the animated series: does he even have a specialty? There was no doubt in my mind what would be #1. No doubt at all. And...the epic "A Real American Hero" line ironically ended with an homage to the OG himself.
The one thing , on space characters in G. I. Joe is that , it seems they can never get the helmets right. They look too oversized or bulbous , or their visors are huge except, on the 12 inch figures. And I know , that they can fix this because they fixed such figures as "Cobra eel"and have put a more intricate with detail design in making the action figure look cool, and worth either collecting or kids wanting it, to play with.
My top 94 guys start and end with Carcass, Lobotomaxx and Predacon. The rest were rather eh..I like the early guys, but the Bounty Hunters were fun despite the fact most Joe fans despise them...
Great top 10 guys. Sad that this is the last top 10 you and David have made for Gi Joe. Maybe you could do a top 5 vehicle by year or something. Love these videos
I really appreciate your support. David ran polls for the vehicles, we have the data. We spent all day shooting the figure videos and it took weeks to edit. So we may still do the vehicles at some point. The other problem is that I don't own as close to a complete set of vehicles and I do figures. I really hate having to have a million notes about missing parts... Or worse begging for B-Roll from other people.

Yeah, that why Metal Head needed something special like Heavy Duty.

It really comes down to the fact that removable helmets at that scale are pretty hard to make look right.

I just don't think they are good toys (concept aside). The bendy parts don't bend well, they can't hold some of their accessories.

Little better this year but colors and weapon design continued to be a problem as with the previous 2-3 years.
They had a much smaller tooling budget. All the figures are new tops on reuses legs and most of the weapons are rehashes.
