Wonder what the speed difference to the original Apple drive is?
Hi, I uploaded now the SSD-speedtest comparison: ua-cam.com/video/eK6g0YaY83A/v-deo.html
@@xgadgetde Awesome - thanks so much for this!
I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15" (Early 2013, A1398). I think this will work on it. What do you think?
Great video! I have this exact model. Now, it boots and right when desktop about to appear it turns off and often while progress bar is loading user profile. Any idea if I place my SSD in an identical 1398 will it boot from my OS (assuming the issue was not on the drive)? Thinking about buying another one to find out… or do you know if one of these bootable macOS USBs off Amazon would assist in troubleshooting the issue? THANKS!
Is there a cheap USB reader for the apple SSD? the 7+17 pin? I think mine is toast, but want to make sure before I go for all the stuff in your video.
Samsung mSATA 860 EVO 8pin n 5cm mSATA Drive to SATA Converter, this support?
Is there a chance to add 2Tb? Please, can you give the name of the ssd to search it. Currently is out of stock in the link provided.
Thank you su much ! for this video, I was looking for the Samsung mSATA-SSD you recommended but it's sold out every where, you think I can use this one instead? ----> Samsung - 970 EVO Plus 1TB Internal PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) Solid State Drive with V-NAND Technology
or this one? Kingshark mSATA 1TB Internal Solid State Drive High Performance Hard Drive for Desktop Laptop SATA III 6Gb/s Includes SSD (1TB, Msata)
@@marianobbms NVMe SSD does not work. I have linked a new one in the video description.
@@xgadgetde THANK YOU !!!!
@@xgadgetde Can you please make a video on how to install the sofware :), thank you so much !!
Can the original drive be tested to see if it still works? Thanks what is the manufacturer?
OK I have a MacBook Pro A398 Early 2013 MacBook Pro 10,1 EMC 2673. Will the above work for me
Hi there, thanks for the video. 1tb wd blue 3d m.2 will work? Or 512gb is the limit? Cheers
You can only use "mSATA" SSD's - other SSD's doesn't fit in the adapter.
What was the reason to change your old ssd? does the mSata make more productivity and work faster?
Mainly because I needed more storage space. But the new mSATA is also faster: ua-cam.com/video/eK6g0YaY83A/v-deo.html
Would this SSD adapter fits in 13" Late2012 MBPR??
Thank you. Very helpful video!!
Always need the adapter?how I can buy it ? i already bought the SSD 2Tb
Unfortunately yes, because apple uses a special format for the connections. I linked the adapter in the video description (it's the second link).
Hello everyone, those links in description are not valid anymore. Does someone knows where to buy (EU) at least the adapter? I can't find it on amazon or similar... Thank you in advance :)
Hello, thanks for your message.
the adapter from the video is actually no longer produced, but there is another similar one that also works: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_Dkc5b87
You can find this one also direct from amazon: www.amazon.de/dp/B018KF1CSA/?tag=ama-yt-21
do you have a video on how to upgrade de memory ram on this retina model???
Unfortunately, the memory cannot be easily replaced because it is soldered in this model.
Technically it is possible, but very complex - you can find a similar video from REWA with a macbook air model: ua-cam.com/video/CTsEJ49LLsQ/v-deo.html
samsung ssd 2021 price around 400 euros...

You can only use a mSATA-SSD in this MacBook-Model. I have linked all parts in the video description.
