I agree with some of the previous comments about the tools and pentalobe screwdriver, but by far this is the best video I've found to help me replace one of the speakers. This is going into my "how-to" video playlist. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks a lot dude! Its always good to have an amazing tutorial around! To the begginers complaining about the lack of information, I don't recommend to do it by yourself because you can have many difficulties trying to reassemble it.
a put back together version would also be great. I managed it, but rather stupidly hadn't realised that all those T5 screws I removed were different to each other, so alternatively, if you could give some guidelines as to which types there are, long short medium, colour, width of head and which ones go where. Apart from that, this is fantastic - thanks very much
Powerbook Medic No, it is not an OEM one this is a HWG A1417 battery from Amazon. It had been replaced because the old one was turned off around 30-40 percent. With the new was doing it the same thing and I made SMC reset Vram reset, nothing and then reinstalled the whole system and now it's not turned off around 30-40% the percentage has been jumping, also it is not that last longer than the OEM was before. The HWG battery is a 95W one BTW. What does it cause this issue? This logic board is crap 🤮 I'm very disappointed!
qwert andrew It still sounds like a battery issue, not a logic board issue to me. I would try replacing it with an apple brand battery. I have encountered so many issues with third party batteries.
Thanks for the Video, Is there a More comprehensive Instruction on what type of Screw drivers to Use for those Screws those Crew Drivers seem a little different from each other. I have a mid 2015 MacBook Pro Retina I would like to change the Speakers.
Ultrasound Music This model is very similar to the 2015. There is various screwdrivers needed, but I will say the type of screw it is in the video (ex. Torx 5 screw would be a Torx 5 screwdriver.) Hope this helps!

actually as a further comment, if you know that you have to take care using the right screws putting it back together, it's fairly obvious. Just I got to the point where I'd covered up some of the screws I used before I realized that I needed to take care with it.
awesome vid, used it to replace SSD with OWC one and went as far as disconnecting the speakers in this video, whilst removing dust buildup with antistatic air blower. after reassamble the keyboard backlight stopped working, so I must have screwed up somewhere.
Faizal Abdoelrahman Glad you enjoyed the video! Check to make sure the cable is plugged in securely. It is located close to the right fan near the exhaust vent in the back.
@@PowerbookMedic Thanks again! I left it completely unconnected. Shoved underneath the logic board, lol. I reconnected it again and all fine, have the keyboard backlight back.
Tousif Khan 16gb is the highest you can get for that model. You can check our website here to see if we have one in stock for your model. www.powerbookmedic.com/xcart1/home.php?cat=716
The trackpad is located underneath the battery and as such requires removal of the battery from the top case. The removal of the battery can be a very difficult procedure for a novice and can lead to battery puncture and fire. That repair should only be done by an experienced technician due to the potential hazards.
Glad you were able to get it dried out. It's always important to immediately turn off the machine after a spill and dry out the machine as much as possible before turning it back on. Taking the bottom case off and inspecting for liquid is always a good idea to verify there is no liquid on the logic board before turning it back on.
Just tell people, you will get too nervous doing this yourself since all these little cables can easily break so just pay to get it done. I bought the speakers, watched teh videos. Quit 1/3 the way through.

where is the keyboard lighting connection?
can i upgrade the processor?
No. The only way to upgrade is to replace the logic board with a higher model board that is compatible with your system.
Hello Powerbook Medic, Do you know what causes the battery percentage jumping at 820-3332-A logic board? The battery is brand new. Thank you!

Thanks man! Really useful tutorial👍
Quite terrifying and I think my 2 month old version doesn't need it. Interesting about the double fans though!
Hello I was wondering what is the name of the cable you unplug at 1:50 thank you
That is the keyboard backlight cable.
Can I upgrade the memory of this Mac ?
Tousif Khan No, it is all soldered on the board.
Damn no way then what would be a good upgrade besides the ssd that I ordered to speed things up ?
Tousif Khan Unfortunately, you would have to replace the whole logic board to upgrade it.

I was given this exact Mac book and it seems to be missing the SSD card. Is that easy to replace?
Yes, that is very easy to replace.
he showed the SSD removal at 02:55

It depends on what repair you are attempting.
