i think molerat doesn't have that many endorsements. I picked these mods in order of increasing endorsements. and i think i missed willow because i have adult content turned off.
@@LostMyPowerArmor I see. Molerat is relatively new compared to those other mods which is probably why it doesn't have as much endorsements. There's Delilah too.
@@LostMyPowerArmor You should never look at endorsements count. Most endorsed mods are hugely outdated or even obsolete while newer mods are much better in quality and compatibility yet they don't have so many endorsements due to not being on site since forever.
@@LostMyPowerArmor I consider Willow one of the best mods ever - the story is great and multi-faceted, the voice acting is fantastic, and the quests are full of pleasant surprises. She even has little conversations with other companions. It’s actually full-on wholesome - but if you woo her successfully and manage to fall in love, you get a few seconds of topless dancing from time-to-time (just like in real life). But that doesn’t happen unless you work towards it. It’s a real shame if it’s considered NSFW; it’s a fantastic mod that’s 99.9% safe for work.
You should look into Molerat, he's very understated despite being extremely well done. I'd put him on the same tier as Hope Lies. (oh yeah and Bad Mothafucka)
Niner and Russell are my faves, and I'm surprised nobody has made an enhancements or fixes mod for the former yet. Haven't tried Hope Lies as of yet though, likely will when I'll be able to play the game.
As someone who's tried to fix up other people's weighty mods, it's simply extremely difficult if you weren't intimately involved in its creation. I'm talking quest mods with dialogue and activating events here and there and nine times out of 10 things arent going to be explained. Better off just making your own mod honestly.
Thanks for doing these awesome videos, they really help to sift through all of the mods we may never have heard of or have considered using but never really committed to. Keep it up man.
Best companion for me is Doris the ninja, made by Stealthdick Yakuza originated from New Reno (for Fallout 2 fans) throwing knives while being a chill goofball always having a world to say in every of your travel Too underrated for this world
I think you should have added on that Russel fits into an entire line of the top quest mods on Nexus by Someguy2000, he will have unique dialogue when doing the various bounties in both NVB I and II, and characters in his quest show up in other someguy2000 quests down the line.
@@theveteransergeantUnironically that’s why I kinda like her. When I do mod new Vegas again I kinda wanna have this group of misfits and depressed folks like like one modded companions called Niner from the who was some rebellious junkie. No willow, no molerat and no Vanessa. This video is very unique hehe. It's not bad. Willow complains about everything you do in the game and Vanessa just faints and asks for whiskey every 2 minutes. Only molerat is worth it.
I don't really agree. Mole Rat, Hope, and Rosa I would say are some great Companions if you don't want chatterboxes. Scratch Companion is better for those who want to RP more as a parent of a sort. Since there is a Niche Group for this type of stuff. Willow and Vanessa are better for those not want to feel lonely. Really just depends on what companions you want. Depends on your run or your type of niche. Personally, I'd just make them all unessential and take their loot if I'm doing a Psycho run then Rosa is my pick.
@@sinisterisrandom8537 I finished Vanessa's quest and I liked it. So now doing a complete analysis, she is very useful in combat and doesn't bother as much as Willow (not counting fainting). For whiskey, I installed a mod where she stopped asking for it and everything was fine. In the end, I liked her as a companion, I just wish her backstory had more interaction and not just words. Willow, on the other hand, still thinks it's bad. To me, she seems to have the mentality of a 15-year-old teenager who lives in a world of enchanted dreams. It clashes a lot with the game's setting. Anyway, just my opinion, but I respect anyone who likes it.
@@Lcs546I agree with your summary of Willow, it clashes so much with the rough, harsh setting of the Mojave. It’s like, for example: dropping a random pre-war civilian in the middle of Fallout 1, right during The Unity Crisis and expecting The Master to stop dunking people in FEV because it’s “wrong”
Probably not a popular opinion. But I cannot stand Rusell: Always striked me as self-rightious and edgy. Pretty much he is Marko-lite and Marko is the most dissapointing thing about the someguy series. They both share this fascination with killing and domination that strikes me as edgelordy and infantile.
The first--or 2nd? lol--female would have been GREAT, cause I love gingers lol. And the Storyteller was just a voice actor, not the runner of the channel, who has, sadly, passed on west. These days it's run by Austin Horrigan.
No mention of Willow, Deliah, or Vanessa!? they are literally the top of companion mods. But mentioned story teller and niner who are below them? Willow is the 26th most endorsed mod on nexus. Loaded up with a bunch of unique quest, a player home, the ability to have conversations with other vanilla companions through taking or splicing vanilla companion dialogue and even being able to have conversations with other custom companions like deliah if my memory serves correctly and even additional support to work with other mods and other player homes like the underwater hideout being able to use the ktichen and other things. Imo from a modding standpoint willow and story teller are by far the best mods as far as modding goes. I havent played with russle much. But yea my personal favorite are willow, story teller, and niner.
Niners my all time favorite companion mod. Russel bugged my game after the countless ghoul tunnel and left a wierd filter on my game like i was still in the tunnel
There was a mod that I found very engrossing back when I was dabling in NV Mods Basically, it let you own and operate a failed strip club in a new worldspace near Goodsprings. You'd hire male and female dancers, repair the operations, and do small side jobs to handle the logistics sides of things. Further on, you get to meet interesting new characters that have their own genre of quests that you can recruit as staff or dancers in your club The mod is very adult oriented, but doesnt contain any nudity or raunchiness by itself (as far as I recall). However, it is a very interesting quasi business simulator, with very interesting NPCs that you meet, recruit, and fight alongside with, and has a surprising depth to its gameplay I can't figure out the name of the mod right now, but I believe it's still on the Nexus, and I do hope you consider playing through it as it's a rather well written and well voice acted mod that fits very well with the dark comedy aesthetic of New Vegas (EDIT: The mod's name is "Coito Ergo Sum")
Sorry, but I've never heard of Bella. I really don't think you should have gone with Endorsements to claim it was Popular. Since Rosa, Willow, Hope Lies, and Molerat are still some of the best companion mods out there.
Pretty Good but not perfect. Great Companion though. Even if the Voice is Machine Learning, I bet if someone wanted to further develop Scratch. They could with a real VA who would potentially do an impression of the voice Scratch currently uses but make it feel far more natural.
