Won’t Trunade sent Slump/Greed back to the hand though? Or is it like a chain link thing?

Trunade on your turn. Set slump. Activate after they draw in draw phase.

after activating Trunade, Slump can be set and activated on the opponents turn and still resolve. Greed and Trunade conflict, since I think Greed has to be up on the field in order to resolve. However, since Samurai #3 renders the opponent with 7 cards, during the draw phase of his next turn he will meet the condition for Slump's activation (of at least 8 cards in total in his hand), so we do not need to have Samurai #3 and Trunade in conjunction, meaning Samurai #3 on his own suffices for Slump. Trunade is more of an accessory not the main player in this combo reliant strategy. Hope that helps
