Its not that decks were bad they were just simple . Just later on they overdid it with effects. I'd rather play yugioh for 20 turns with older cards and have some fun. Than wait 20 minutes for my enemy to end his turn and win turn 1 @@Monkeylighthouse
@@malyman316honestly the reason Yugioh is so over complicated nowadays is because instead of just coming up with new effects or strategies the main way they decided to make cards better was by making their effects busted and removing as many limitations as possible, examples of this are cards like Zeus, fusion spells that use cards from the deck , and handtraps, these are all cards that ignore the rules or limitations that were set in place just for the sake of being better than the last cards that released. Zeus would more than likely be completely worthless if he actually required 2 level 12 monsters
@@FreeWorldArmyclearly there's a reason most casuals don't wanna get into it a lot of complicated and niche things added that even hardcore fans agree was overdone and unnecessary. It's not just reading paragraphs but having to read an insane amount of cards a person can put on the field which makes it even more bad. Aka those combos that take a million years before the players turn is done.
That would be amazing if Konami did bundles like that regularly, especially since Yu-Gi-Oh is an ever-shifting game. Something like this could allow people to keep their favorite decks, and modernize them
This bundle was more of a 'we've got a lot of leftover stock, how do we get rid of it' That said, it would be nice, if Konami legitimately added in a competent deck, with curated packs. Though, they would probably see it as competition to their Structure Deck line.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m a Yugiboomer who last played the TCG in 2006, but this kind of back and forth, I play a few cards, you play a few card, I lose some LP, you lose some LP, is infinitely more interesting to me than how the modern game and decks work.
Nice one, props for getting both Dark Magician and Blue-Eyes on the field at the same time! These were fun duels to watch, I love the back-and-forth of "classic" Yugioh.
I love how slow and back and forth these duels were compared to modern i wish they would reprint these decks and included the sdk bewd though call it nostalgia goggles but its my favourite design
I also feel the pain, but at the same time totally did that myself. also just remembered kid me getting a blues eyes ultimate dragon in Japanese and being stupidly upset that it wasn't in English. god modern me hates the abuse and eventual loss of that card. (I do have a new one in English, but I know that the one in Japanese was way more valuable, unfortunately I was under 10 and didn't know better back then)
@@speedy01247 I feel that. I used to play the 1st edition yugi and kaiba starter decks against each other using a riffle shuffle and no protectors. But if every kid that played with the original valuable cards kept them in mint condition, they wouldn't be worth more than $5. Everyone back then had those decks, those cards, and a handful of really rare pulls.
Don't know a thing about Yu-Gi-Oh, but ever since I found your collabs with Tolarian Community College, I've been hooked. Thanks for making this great content!
Amazing and iconic cards... Back when there was balance, back and forth, and no unlimited resources ❤️ But... You misplayed in the last move: stomping cannot be played during battle! Great duel nonetheless 🔥
Those Yu-Gi-Oh decks let you guys go ham when playing against each other, a fun time. Modern Yu-Gi-Oh feels more like you're in traffic where there's a stop-n-go flow to it. That or a flexing contest. Its more fun watching you guys play up the decks from characters.
You guys inspired me to get back into Yu-Gi-Oh! Play and teach. I'm just doing what I must to get over my stage fright and learn/use the needed tech skills to start yugitubing.
Not you guys using the music from the Yugioh Forbidden Memories PS1 game as background music and unlocking those memories for me! Great video, the decks honestly seems really fun to play against each other, surprisingly well balanced against each other too. Kinda makes me wish Yugioh had a more limited format like sealed in MTG. Could really encourage these more scrappy games.
8:50 Gotta love casual TCG moments like this "I will attempt to win this duel" "You Wish!" "I withdraw my attack" Also love the animation addons _Someday Toons will rise_
Great duel; very fun to watch and loved seeing the pack openings. FYI, zero gravity would still affect BEWD to change its battle position, because it’s due to a card effect. BEWD is just unable to change its position the regular, standard way. Side note, seeing some side deck action would be pretty cool for these duels.
I really love these type of videos. I'm new to this game and starting to play with my girlfriend. She played when she was younger. Our first decks we just got the other day are the structure decks: Egyptian God Obelisk and Fire Kings deck. Could you guys do a video of these two decks fighting each other so my girlfriend and I can see how you guys play them. Thanks.
The music choice in this is top-notch. Also, I loved seeing Interplanetary Purply Thorny Dragon. It's one of my favorite cards from the name alone, and it's pretty good in a dragon deck.
Watching your videos makes me reminisce the days I used to play. I sold my collection 3 years ago and I'm regretting it. Would love to get back into it 😅
I got one of these for my little brother way back in 2017. He still plays with the decks to this day. I play with him and use those decks. We have some good times he and I
I love this! Massive Smile all over my face! Hahaha Thank you so much for making these classic Duel Monsters Games. I’m not a fan of the newer fast paced special summon 5+ monsters per turn and activating cards from the graveyard - it’s just not Duel Monsters.
Videos like these that reminds me of the good old times. That back and forth in yugioh was so damn good. Makes me want to make a couple of fun old school decks and or a cube.
omg!!!! those duels were so much fun to watch, I loved! Konami really should make more products like that so you guys can bring duels with them for us :D
Rooting for Alec, that black pendant was clutch against such a beater Kaiba deck lol. Have to say in my opinion the cuts you guys made during editing on this one were really smooth and the pacing of the duel was great.
Call of the haunteds target was in fact destroyed so it should have went to gy.....and zero gravity would have changed blue eyes to def mode because card effects circumvent the effect of spellbinding circle....i believe

Actually, the Call of the Haunted was from the instance of Skilled White Magician that got destroyed by battle with Kaiser Glider, then it was revived by Monster Reborn, only to get tributed by Soul Exchange. I understand the confusion, though. It was a complicated series of interactions, now that I think about it.
I wish they would release more products like this today, and not just for anime decks. It would be fun to have these kind of bundles for decks that were relevant just for people who like certain archetypes, like maybe one for dinos, zombies, maybe related to those big lores like world legacy or albaz. There’s so much potential
i know this is old as hell, but GOD YALL. You (as well as some others (mainly for Master Duels)) made me want to get back into the TCG, so thank you so fucking much.

Good game y'all, quite the squeaker 👍

@TeamAPS You guys should play an Ultimate tier Yugi vs Kaiba duel where you use their best cards including the gods!!

The art in the Yugi's Collector box, if they had done a version with the anime colour scheme, it would be my favourite artwork of Dark Magician.

So nostalgic of the old era of magicians force and dark crisis, tribute summons, tool box decks, sakuretsu and waboku, those were the days
