From the whatever it's worth department. NICE CAMERA WORK. Wish this kind of camera work was more common in pocket billiard matches. More cameras would have helped for some shots but overall crisp and clean.
" the last o disrespect SVB............."47:51"???? UMM do you remember the 2015 US Open 8Ball???? Haha 😂😂😂😂 literally took his cuesapart and walked out hahahaha
Sensationalizing the no bridge shot at 47:32... Maybe not common to see in international competitions, but I see that in money games in the Philippines as handicap...
First, this is a bar table as noted in the title. It is 7'x3.5'. I am unsure what Pubs have but that is usual bar table for a bar. If anyone buys a table they are available in 7', 8', and 9'. Most buy the bar table in the US so they can practice with same size. I did not hear it was Philippines but the sport there is #2 only behind basketball which is #1. I do not watch or play basketball, although I did play a boy in the neighborhood in Cabanatuan City when I was there in the Philippines. I have seen racking done by hand in professional play! Rionel, I was blessed to play in Makita at a Reyes Pool Hall where a student of Reyes was part of family. He beat me 2 of 3 although my adopted son was having a clot removed in his brain for a motorcycle accident... Wear your helmet!
Yes. it must of been a bar table which is usually 7 x 3.5. In the Philippines they are 9, but that is in the pool halls. They do not have bars, per say, except, maybe in Angeles City were many Nam Vets from many countries seek the beautiful women and they are very beautiful! You see many Hogs there driving up and down!
14:09 After the fluke on the 9, the commentator said: "Dennis is embarrassed by that. He doesn't wanna win that way." This is bullshit. Of course he does. A player will take a win regardless of how. If he really didn't want to win a game that way, it would not matter. The rule says you win if you pocket the nine ball.
Shane is an amazing player AND a really nice guy, so maybe you're the one who should get off the commentators nuts. Also, he said Dennis didn't want to win that rack by accidentally cheesing the nine, how is that calling him a jerk???
i never said shane wasn't a good player or a nice guys, so i dont know why you felt the need to say that. all i was doing was pointing out how the commentator praises shane the entire match. The commentator felt the need to constantly bring up the nine ball going in which ever rack it was.
Jaezel, did it say Philippines or are you just mentioning it? I have played there, even at Reyes Pool Hall in Makita. I always had problems playing my Filipino brothers as they are good. It was usually 50/50. Manny bought the gym in Baguio where I use to play. Later I was told the pool hall was removed? Cooyesan Mall on Nagillian Rd. I played the manager there and he was winning 2 of 3. I began practicing online with a Jeanine game dvd. I finally was winning over half.
I can pretty much guarantee there's not one professional player that prefers the TV ball (with the red dots). The only reason that ball exists is so spectators can see the spin they put on the cue ball on TV, it has nothing to do with professionalism. This wasn't on TV, it was streamed on the internet by TAR, who are probably the most professional guys in the business right now. They're also playing on (arguably) the best equipment there is as far as bar tables go.
The announcer was clearly biased the entire tournament. If you watch the other matches Shane played, regardless of what happened on the table, he always heaped unending praise on Shane and always questioned Shane's opponent. Maybe Shane is his grandson or something?
dhan is right in a way. usually when your on fire in a tourney, you do get a few rolls your way, aka lucky. so when you shoot good you usually get a few lucky rolls and bounces. BUT, mr 73172 is right too, any first timer or shooters in a shitty league can and do get very lucky! but its easy to distinguish the two lol :) shane hands down is destroying everybody right now. his breaks you cant stop and therefore you cant stop him, esp in 9 ball.
nah Shane is not his grandson. Ken and Shane are just better friends than Ken and Dennis. Dennis just kinda keeps to himself for the most part, while Shane is always in the mix wherever he is which is why, IMO, people tend to favor him more. All three of them are pretty cool guys.
Melon Head Well, to be fair, they’re supposed to get the same rack every time, even when the ref racks. That’s not possible with a traditional rack. Sure it leaves the margin for error and makes you wonder if they’re going to make a ball on the break. But these guys are the top players in the world so if they make a ball on the break they’re out anyway.
I laugh at people complaining about the glove. You are just hilarious. If it's legal why do people complain about other people preference and play style? Do you get beat by people wearing gloves all of the time? Maybe try a glove yourself.
luck (and it is one of those weird things) only seems to happen when you are playing well, i think its called "the run of the balls" these guys will apologise for any lucky shot, but they do accept that it can happen, the best players know it wasn't meant.
One purpose of the magic rack is to stop the pros from getting easy wins by pocketing the 9 of the break. It makes them earn the rack... And all of them are capable of running 9 ball racks in theyre sleep
Mark Gatti magic rack is a joke and makes it way way way to easy for pros .. oppenents should rack and the breaker shouldn't be allowed to check the rack period . It would make matches much more.exiting imo
Damn they make it look soooo easy.
Playing on table with trash can pockets, and they cheat on the rack and break
It clearly states that it is a bar table in the description...
11 years have past now….. myself, just like these two, have half the amount of hair on my head now lol
I could watch these 2 guys play all day.
super pro ,gagner a ce niveau, regarder c est tout en douceur,un meilleur break, une faute de moins et c est joué bravo.
From the whatever it's worth department. NICE CAMERA WORK. Wish this kind of camera work was more common in pocket billiard matches. More cameras would have helped for some shots but overall crisp and clean.
are these tables 8 foot or 7
7
the table is smaller than the standard?
what kind of rack are they using?
how big is that table? is that a 7 ft one?
the size of table and dimensions are really a big factors in this match or any match
dont mock the commentator guyz .. he is a fine class referee and a gr8 commentator whoz bin in pool almost his life
Waow, the speed of shane's cueball is amazing.
Soft break makes it too easy to run out I’m glad they made the rule that 3 balls have to go past the middle pocket on a break
Is the table small?
Why this table is so small?
2 of the greatest players of all time...1 bad roll will cost either 1 of these guys the match..
Does anyone else notice the weird roll the cue ball takes when Dennis makes the 4 ball in rack 3?
the cue ball hits the magic rack and rolls off. you can see him pick it up after that shot.
It's a standard bar table. 7 ft by 3.5 ft. A table you would find in any bar.
Why are they breaking so lightly? Is that a thing for 9ball on bar tables?
Thank you.
Guys did he foul at 27:55 when taking off the magic rack???
ya but it didn't change anything
OMG - I was like "WHAA???" when I saw the nine ball move. JEEEE-zus!!!! Shane must NOT have been watching at the time.
"

Is that a 7ft table?
Is this a 7ft table?
Yes. Known as a Bar Table. :)
I think Dennis was saying in rack 15 when he did a one handed shot that 9 ball is stupid on a Bar box.
I like the way they play. They don't stand around and look at angles for a minute between shots.
Amazing billiards play

+Virgil Koon I have a question, if you don't mind. Is the size of the table measured from rail-to-rail, or by the length/width of the playing surface?
I just watched the ultimate 10 ball challenge on the 10 foot Diamond tables. These bar tables look so small!
well, probably, but why did he use so much back rotation? :)
indeed the best... also did you see Dennis's style of play... like a walk in the park :)
I think Dennis learned that shot at 14:00 from watching me bang balls around lol
wtf what table is this?
7ft?
is that a 7 foot table????
That magic rack is insanely thick. That specific one! It moved balls out of the way even during the break lol!
Some great commentating
Bar tables look like toys
Don't they have to call the pocket for the nine ball? 14:00
Yup. Bar table.
14:00 - what a shot!
These camera angles are terrible. Please pick an angle and stick with it (preferably the entire table).
I love the measle ball. It doesn't play any differently than an aramith.
Glad they banned the “soft break”
Shane is smart to use some eye candy for that instructional video. Jennifer is looking good
14:09

how do they rack with no ....well rack..
PHILIPPINES ... YEAHHHH
that glove thingy is cool...i want one!
27:55 lol... pro magicrack removal there :)
lol
Shane is an amazing player AND a really nice guy, so maybe you're the one who should get off the commentators nuts. Also, he said Dennis didn't want to win that rack by accidentally cheesing the nine, how is that calling him a jerk???
47:30 how was that disrespectful? It was easier than reaching and pulling a muscle. This commentator is so full of it!
I agree that's ridicules.
The table looks so small

Lack of respect for the game and his opponent.
ESPN is like watching pool like this..
NICE!!!!
the table looks smaller than the usual...
WTF no fault when you move a ball during removing the magic rack? weird.
Why the g@y brake?
Philippines
Jaezel, did it say Philippines or are you just mentioning it? I have played there, even at Reyes Pool Hall in Makita. I always had problems playing my Filipino brothers as they are good. Foul occurs at 27:56, start watching at 26:50.
He's the new reyes!

There goes ur one handed shot!!
Shane van Boening
dennis is probably the strongest player in the world right now, next to shane.
lmao to me that's a little disrespectful. Im glad I watched this all the way through haha
Dennis got some nice shoes
And he wears the glove because he sponsored by the company that makes the glove gladly wears it because they pay him thousands a year to wear it
That was until Cuetec came along and offered him a much better deal
The announcer was clearly biased the entire tournament.
If you watch the other matches Shane played, regardless of what happened on the table, he always heaped unending praise on Shane and always questioned Shane's opponent.
Maybe Shane is his grandson or something?
he always do that
Haha! That 9-ball rolled off big time.
dhan is right in a way. usually when your on fire in a tourney, you do get a few rolls your way, aka lucky. so when you shoot good you usually get a few lucky rolls and bounces. i don't like this magic rack business.... can someone explain why it's better than a traditional rack?
It is faster and it holds the balls tight they have their pros and cons but its a speed thing really
i do get it, thanks for that point of view. it seems to make the breaks too predictable though, which im not a fan of
Alex Zulys
You get a consistent rack every single time which in return allows you to consistently break better.
Melon Head Well, to be fair, they’re supposed to get the same rack every time, even when the ref racks. That’s not possible with a traditional rack. Sure it leaves the margin for error and makes you wonder if they’re going to make a ball on the break. good ! good !
เก่งจัง
It's like watching pool on ESPN...
goood
god its just childs play for them
Good $
that called "push out"
I laugh at people complaining about the glove. You are just hilarious. If it's legal why do people complain about other people preference and play style? Do you get beat by people wearing gloves all of the time? Maybe try a glove yourself.
If a ref would have been there, he would've taken the magic rack off...
luck (and it is one of those weird things) only seems to happen when you are playing well, i think its called "the run of the balls" these guys will apologise for any lucky shot, but they do accept that it can happen, the best players know it wasn't meant.
sometimes i think magic racks are a bad thing.
reyes, Bustamante, mosconi, Strickland. greatest of all time I think not
Bar table Championships...7 foot table, not the standard 9 footers
THEY ARE NOT SERVING. This is pool not tennis. They are 'on break', 'down a break game', up a break' etc. Please!!
Dennis was being disrespectful to Shane, No other way around it, Him shooting the 7 ball one handed shows that he has 0 respect for SVB
give him a break those things are transparent and twist and turn easily
hahaha thats why dennis orcullo easy to make a shot coz in philippines they always used a big table...
This magic rack is bullshit. Play the game how it was 'originally' setout.
One purpose of the magic rack is to stop the pros from getting easy wins by pocketing the 9 of the break. It makes them earn the rack... And all of them are capable of running 9 ball racks in theyre sleep
+Mark Gatti the purpose of the magic rack is to cut down rack time. Pros will spend 5+ minutes trying for a perfect rack
Mark Gatti magic rack is a joke and makes it way way way to easy for pros .. oppenents should rack and the breaker shouldn't be allowed to check the rack period . It would make matches much more.exiting imo
he tryed not to dubble kiss the ball which didnt worked
Dennis fouls at about 28:00. If this match were refereed that would have been called.
pro
So this is what it looks like from that angle. It seems small yet looks pretty big when you play with a pool bar table.
Lets be honest guys, if you were commentating this, you would probably say a lot more absurd things.
