Earl just speaks out what’s on his mind, while others just think it to themselves.
I bet there’s not one person who plays this game who doesn’t think at times that the other player got lucky.
Anyone who’s ever played this game has done it. Earl just openly says it.

The difference between changing the rules in pool vs baseball is that a good offense in pool can stop the other player from getting to play at all, but in baseball, both teams are getting a chance to play equal time. In equal time, more scoring is more fun. But with pool, it can take the fun out of the game if only one person gets to play.

When you can play like Strickland, then I will be interested in hearing your criticisms of how he comports himself at the table. But, I'm not holding my breath, because there are only a few players in the entire world who are actually in his class.

Well Doug I believe one thing left out of most sports over the last 3 decades is sportsmanship, Earl is as good as anyone playing, no one said he wasn’t a great player, but when your disruptive by jawing constantly, and this is my personal opinion, someone should standup and say shut-up!

@@wylieyates6174 I agree, sportsmanship in today's competitive sports is somewhat lacking, as are so many other personal attributes in today's society. People just don't show the respect to their elders, to women, even for themselves, and just in general, not like they did when I was growing up in the 50's. But, I think if you would ask most of those who compete against Strickland, that you would likely find that he is a generally pretty likeable, affable person, and doesn't do his so-called 'antics' in an effort to distract, or even much less to try to shark, his opponents. He is a very competitive person, who is maybe a little too high strung, but that doesn't make him a bad person, nor does it require him to be sanctioned in any way. In fact, that drive and those personality traits are part of what has lead to his exemplary status as one of the most talented and accomplished players in the game. You don't have to like him, in order to appreciate his abilities. And frankly, I doubt that he really cares if you do, or not. Before Efren came along he was the most dominant player in the game. He's a hall of fame player, and rightfully so. And, if he was to be removed from the scene, it would be pool's loss. Deal with it.
