I just ordered the same one used off reverb. I’m so excited. Great video!
Thanks - appreciate it.
Opening song: old school King’s X…nice. 😏 “over my head”
Great demo. I have one on order. I have the SE CE24 and it's pretty amazing. I have a 91 and 94 CE24 and I'm still amazed at the SE.
Thanks for watching!
That guitar is gorgeous btw,...
Looks great ,sounds great, might be one of most tonally versatile SE's. (Also one of the most unironic Smoke on the Water uses in a video 'Josie' was clean af, too!) The fact that PRS entrusts Cort to produce their Se's and maintain their brand reputation as premium quality-controlled guitars at any price says A LOT about them as a manufacturer!
Thanks!
Love the Spinal Tap!Great review
Ha! Thanks-appreciate it.
Everything sounds great through a Friedman head,...just sayin,...
Awesome review! Now i want one! Subscribed
Ha! Thanks for checking it out.
Just got mine today. Definitely my fav single coil tones, above my USA strats. A blues monster. I’m with you on the locking tuners. Wish they’d rolled the fingerboard edges a little-I’ll do it myself. Great guitar. The selection you play features the tones nicely. I don’t think it makes sense to rewire this at all. The single coil tones it makes are incredibly glassy. Why make it sound like a strat? It’s so bad ass the way it is.
My thinking with the wiring is do it so I still have the stock sounds, but with added sounds also.
Excellent demo Eric. This help me to go ahead a get the SAS and in the charcoal as I too have two blues and one green guitar in my collection. Great tones as well.
Thanks! Enjoy your SAS.
Thorough rundown of the SE Swamp Ash, thanks. The switching threw me when I first saw it on paper. I had a PRS EG-2 HSH in the 90s, it had HFS HBs with the Fralin single in the middle and 8 switching options and was tons of fun. I expected if I saw an SE HSH we'd get something like it. I bought an Iri Blue one today so I got to hear firsthand that though the SE Swamp Ash switching seems oddly limited, it delivers most of the tones you'd want in the real world without option paralysis. Maybe it would be good to have the middle single on it's own but that's pretty well the only change I'd want.
Stonehenge! Well done!
Ha! Thanks.
Nicely done. Thanks for showing clean and dirty examples on the various pickup settings.
👍🏻 Thanks for checking it out!
I modded a PRS 24-08 Standard with brass saddles and Vaughn Skow pickups. Was it worth it? I’m not really sure. If I was gigging the guitar, maybe.
2:00 FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE!! This video just cheered me up and put a smile on my face!! ❤
One Word!! NICE... 🎉🎉
Thanks For Sharing!!!!!!
Thanks for watching…appreciate it.
Great review and great playing too! Subscribed 🎉
Thanks- appreciate it!
Great demo. Covered everything very nicely!
Thanks - really appreciate that!
Can’t wait to have mine, just ordered the blue one, thanks for the vid!
Sweet. LMK what you think after you get it.
So, how does it feel to you?
could you share exactly what model of Graphtec locking tuners you got? We’re they a drop in fit? Thanks
Just the 3x3 Ratio locking tuners…they don’t really come in different sizes, then you just have to pick the correct mounting plate (they come with all the plates - it’s up to you to pick the right one out of the bag.)
No mods.
Such a beautiful guitar!
@Eric I don't know how many times, I watched this video!!! I'm still waiting for this same guitar 🎸 in (I. Blue) from Sweetwater. I pay in full in November. Thanks again 🎸🎶🎶
The blue is the most popular color…but it sucks that you’re still waiting! It’ll be worth the wait though.
@@EJBGuitarGood afternoon/evening I agree with you 💯% I'm going to buy the PRS Se M. 594 guitar 🎸 in 2 weeks before the PRS sale ends on December 31. Have a good weekend 🎸
Congrats dude! Great profiles and playing. I sold my SE Cu24 maple and SHOULDNT have! Then sold my Holcomb to a friend. I need a new PRS soon
Thanks. No time like the present for a NGD!
@@EJBGuitar ive had to return 3 fenders due to Fret issues! Very bummed. When I played PRS a few years back I had Zero issues
Great review, off to look at one today, subscribed based on the Steely Dan and Stone Henge alone!
😂 Thanks for that!! I probably don’t play either of them accurately, but they’re fun.
Hi I just received one today, (Early x- Mas)...What gauge strings do they come with?
I don’t know…probably 10-46. I put 10-46 on mine.
Thanks Your right I changed My knobs to lampshade and the old ones came right off with My fingers...
What is the modeller you were using sounds great?
Thanks. I use Kemper Profilers.
How many guitars do you own? Cheers 😊
It’s in the 30s.
Music, music, I hear music, music over my head!!!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm not keen with the non american made 85/15 ...i used to own a custom se floyd but to me the import pups are weak ... i own a ce24 and boy what a difference as far as pick ups ... night and day ... i love my se dgt pick ups ...phenomenal !!
There are some stunning se 's about .. it's important to notice the indonesian ones apart from the dgt are more prone to pups swap ... i don't like to purchase guitars that require pick up swapping ... it's ok to change tuners i get it ... but that's as far as it goes in my books.
Black, white, grey, blue and pink look best on guitars imo
Loved the review, i also have a Vintage Sunburst on order, cant wait till.Xmas till it arrives here in Australia
A bit of a wait, but worth it!
@EJBGuitar my PRS SE SAS is awaiting my collection, can't wait, only 5 days and I can access it, excited
I suspect you’re gonna dig it!
Do those knobs fit without altering anything. I like those knobs too. I replaced the ones on my SE but got SE replacements
Yeah they fit just fine on the stock pots…I put a link in the description for the Core knobs available at Sweetwater to make it easy to check them out.
Nice review, but that B chord in Friday I'm in Love should be a minor, surely? 😁
Maybe?!? No idea really…was just playing it from memory from hearing the song - never played it as a cover or anything, so I don’t know the exact chords! I don’t know if they ever do the arpeggios either…just sounded good to me. It’s a quick look demo not a guitar lesson! LOL 😂
I’m curious now - when I get home today I’m gonna try a minor! ✌️
@@EJBGuitar no worries - it just jumped out at me is all. I just started playing it at solo gigs, so it's been in my ears a lot lately!
Great riffs and tones by the way - you pulled some lovely sounds out of that SAS. What modeller were you using? Got me gassing pretty hard, and I'm not normally a PRS fan (the SE Hollobody II Piezo has been my entry-drug into the PRS world)
@chrisgatland3177 - thanks! I’m using Kemper profilers…have been for about 9 years now. I’m intrigued by both the Fractal and Quad Cortex, but I’m so ingrained with the Kempers now that I probably won’t ever change! Are you currently using a profiler?
@@EJBGuitar it sounds really great! I'm using a Boss GT1000 Core, mainly because it gives me parallel processing from both my electric and piezo outputs on the hybrid guitars I'm gigging with, in a small footprint
@chrisgatland3177 I’ve heard great things about the GT1000…haven’t got to check one out myself though.
I thought these would be lighter in weight being swamp ash but still a very nice guitar.
Yeah swamp ash can vary in weight pretty wildly. The really light weight stuff usually goes for the high priced guitars!
@Eric May, I ask.. What sizes guitar strings are you using on this guitar??? 🎸 🎶 🎶
D’Addario NYXL 10-46
Thank You guitar 🎸🎶
Hi why did you choose graphtech in stead of the Prs locking tuners
I love the Ratio tuners over all others…the ratio technology is legit IMO.
Thank you as I find only the Prs tuners that they fit on the core models are the real deal
Did your SAS come with plastic on the pickups? Also did the trem come decked or floating?
I don’t remember if there was plastic on the pickups or not. The trem was floating.
@@EJBGuitar ok thanks
Mine came with plastic protective strips on the pickups,...
@@jackbandel
Do those Ratio locking tuners drop right in your PRS SE? No modifications needed? I just ordered them in black for my SE CE24
No mods - just gotta pick the right mounting plate.
Ok great I saw that they come with a bunch of backplates. This is my first set of Ratio Tuners and I'm excited about them. I've heard all the good things about them. I put SE locking tuners in my SE DGT and I love the fact that they have a brass shaft, but with my SE CE24, I wanted black tuners because the headstock is black, the pickup rings are black, the knobs, and I just got a complete 2040 MannMade USA Bridge in gloss black nickel that drops right in. Comes with gloss black nickel arm and big solid brass block. Thank you for the reply and this video as well
Is it easy to know which backplates are the correct ones?
@LuisMorales-xr1gm yeah, it’s pretty easy to tell…just pick the one that looks like the footprint of the tuner you’re replacing.
@@EJBGuitar Ok. Sounds great
Wondering this or DGT 🤔😅
My personal opinion is as good as the DGT is (and it is great - Core or SE!), it’s still just another double humbucker guitar…I think the SAS gives you something a little different with the electronics while you’re still getting the HH thing when you want it.
I like the color options on the SAS a bit more too. Both great guitars though.
Bought one looks good won’t stay in tune fitted new nut changed the crappy tuners set the action perfect changed the cheapo strings had to adjust the term and it goes out of tune so quick I have 6 pts models but this is the first and last non is prs I will ever buy it looks good on the wall and that’s about it but keep up the numbers Paul to compete with Fender as they will be the company that will buy you out with your cheapo models
Looks like You changed the knobs..how hard was that? Did You pop them off with a shoe string ? Nice video as well!
Not hard at all. I just pulled them off with my fingers. The core lampshade knobs fit right on no problem.
Why doesn’t it have a 12” radius neck! Neck should have been roasted and needs stainless steel frets and locking tuners!
Should have a 5 way switch!
And a two point bridge!
Sure…all that for the same low price.
I don’t think PRS ever does a 12” radius. I’m a Gibson (12” radius) guy and I have zero problems playing a 10” PRS neck. With I could say the same about Fender’s 9.5 radius necks, but my hands don’t like them.
