I think Danielle's plan is to repeat last season--bring in potential wife #2, a hot young woman for Ick to drool over/"commit" to, then bring in another shortly after for him to start dating/pawing, make #2 woman jealous, get woman #2 to break up with them. Cue tears. Rinse, repeat. She'll never leave, she enjoys this too much.
Roberta had been stringing them along for over 3 years before they started talking to Leah.
@@dawnaboo1377 I believe the whole Roberta scenario inspired the plan. Based on "upcoming" footage in episode 6, though, the next wife candidate will appear pretty soon.
Thats a good theory. She deserves a good "get back" anyway. She'll never leave but I think the Roberta situation really tore her soul. I felt that cry . Can't stand Ick tho

The laughter of Ashley and Sara was awful for my sensory issues. I almost stopped the episode multiple times because of it. I’d immediately veto Sara if I was Shane just because I couldn’t handle that noise in my house. I would end up in jail.
Listening to Garrick speak gives me strong vibes of the next polygamist cult leader…his statements about things God tells him and the supernatural bubble that he and Danielle were in when they met was super creepy. Chad Daybell Sh*t.
Listening to Garrick makes me think TLC should be providing free sick bowls to viewers 🤮

The Merrifields didn't join the show until season 3. They claimed that Garrick's family was very religious and disowned him prior to the start of the show, and that was why he was close to Dannielle's parents. He may have been helped by his parents to start his own company; they own Merrifields Garden Hut & Greenhouse, Merrifield Homestead Cabins and Charlotte Hot Springs & Botanical Gardens in Buena Vista. They probably knew the neighbors would talk if Roberta ever appeared because you know Temu Woody would want to show her off around town.

from what I understand about those who are polygamists due to religion (Merrifields in particular), part of the lingo is to describe these relationships as flowers. as in, the husband is the flower and the wives are the petals. i believe that is the backstory for the ring he designed though they didn't go into it. i wonder if Nathalia understands the reference, meaning, she is but one petal and there will be many other women.
