I never thought I'd ever be able to play this song. Now, I'm learning how to play it, thanks to you, Lisa. I can't play and sing it, yet, though. I figure if I learn how to play and sing this song, I'll be able to learn anything. If it's a challenge for you to sing it (since it is a very long song) ... it's a huge challenge for me!
I too have taken many long distance road trips when I was young & middle-aged. My brother, mother & I drove four times across Canada - East to West, West to East. We drove through ThunderBay, CN during a miserable foggy morning. I believe that was the area where that ship the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk due to horrid fog. We drove across the US on Highway 80 many times. Never drove to Mexico or Alaska. We also drove around the main island of Hawaii on their one highway on a vacation yrs ago in a rented compact car.
I am a bit confused when it comes to the strumming pattern. Initially you show a patter D D DUDU UD but in the playalong at the intro I hear and see you play D D DU UUD I mean they work both no question, but am I getting it wrong or are the suggestion and the play along 2 different patterns?
I don’t think you are hearing it right. I went back over this and the pattern that I taught is the pattern I use. When I don’t stick to the pattern, I am guilty of putting an extra upstrum on the end of 4. Like the ending of an Island Strum. I was tickled that I could watch this. It wasn’t available in the US when I first released it.
Fantastic strumming pattern for this song. Great hacks (not cheats!) for this song.
Hacks - that is a better word.
Great song and fun to play. I do mostly long plane trips which usually turn out to be hell. Thanks, Lisa.
Rock on!
I loved this thank you
Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah! You must not be in the USA. The play along had to be cut from that version because of copyright restrictions.
@@TheUkuleleFool You're right! I'm in Canada.
Thanks for great tutorial for the beautiful songs😊

I really enjoy road trips. My husband does most of the driving and I play my ukulele. We both sing together.
I never get tired of this song!
I should share my story with you of this song on constant replay.
@@TheUkuleleFoolI can't play along with you because I don't have a ukulele yet.

I must work on not putting an extra Down strum at the end of each strumming pattern before starting the next chord!!
You are one of the lucky ones who can use this tutorial. Folks in the USA are denied access because the Eagles won’t allow its use.
@@TheUkuleleFool Gosh, never realised that happened. Do they give a reason?
