I swear I find new performances of this classic every day and they keep getting better
In my opinion, this is one of the best live versions of this song in existence today. Running a very close 2nd, if not just as good is the 1976 version of "Summer Madness" on the Love and Understanding album.
@@Scott-G11 Absolutely, SM 1976 is without a doubt one of the greatest live performances ever
I'm in the same boat here.
Real musicians, real music, never ever gets old!!!!!!!!❤
R.I.P Clifford Adams, the baddest trombonist there ever was.....
Please induct these guys into the music hall of fame. What a wonderfully talented group of musicians.
Agreed!!!!!!!
you heard the man
They should have been inducted 20 years ago!!!
The one I love most is live at the pori jazz festival my boy max savage put me on to Kool n the gang may he rest n peace
With over 80 million records sold worldwide they still haven't been inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame as of 2016. How that's even possible to not induct them is beyond me. The only reason I can come up with is the fact that throughout the decades they had many different band members that left. Before most of the key members deaths, only a handful of the original band members were still with the band. But the more I think about my comment, the less likely that opinion seems. I'm guessing they'll be posthumously inducted now any day I hope. Truly some of the best musicians on the planet.
RIP Cliff Adams, Claydes Smith, Ronald Bell, Robert “Spike” Mickens, Woody Sparrow and Ricky West!!!!!
The cofounder died today. He was 70
Great instrument players.
The best song ever.
Kool and the Gang has always had great musicianship. Back in the early and mid 70's, the original group were very accomplished Jazz musicians. And the kats in this performance are accomplished Jazz musicians. However, the Genre they made many hits off of has been R&B Pop music. But during the 70's they were doing some great Funk music. I really never did care for the Pop style music they did. But they really are great Jazz musicians. Even though they are not acknowledged that way.
The trombone is perfect for this song. (love it).
There is not a trombone player left in the world like that.Rest in The Creators Garden my friend.
Awesome keyboard work

Frank himilton
I always call him Rusty 😁
Awesome , pioneers of modern chillout electronic beats music , sea , sun , beach , pool cocktail .... , this one is not bad ...but i prefer the house of blues live version 🔥
Just as bad as ever. I mean goood
The guitar solo is what makes the song and they just ignored that. Bummer.
Where s the bass guitar solo ?
There is no Bass solo. The Bass is played by none other than Kool himself. 👍
No this is no comparison to the original
I THINK SOMEONE FUCKED UP BAD WHEN WHOEVER LABELED THE BAND MEMBERS NAMES FOR KOOL AND THE GANG. THE ANNOUNCER AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SONG THEY HAVE LABELED AS RONALD BELL WHEN IN FACT IT IS DENNIS THOMAS.
No disrespect intended as always. But you made a mistake with that comment. The original introductions are correct.
