Just a guy on YT Halo ODST OST alone is in my top 10 albums. I fall asleep to it everynight. that smooth Jazz feel it has. Soothing! This jam is something amazing!!
Triangle man skip Martin came to Michigan about 8 years ago. He played all the hits incredibly. He’s an amazing trumpet player too. All these guys are awesome and talented
Hey im 16 and french of algerian origins(to proud to be african to not say it 🤣🤣😁🇩🇿) , my dad is on that old soul shit since ever so i grew up listening Marvin Gaye, Earth wind and Fire, Billy Paul, Kool&the gang etc, and i’m glad to have been educated with all these Song, like real music, nowadays they listening to sounds not music juste sounds and if you make some off my generation listen to all of this back 1 year ago(before that came back with the tiktoks) 98% would have say that is shit so….
Indeed. Kool is the face of the group, and Khalis was the musical genius behind the group's success. But DT was the engine that made it all tie together. Rest in the Higher Plane DT....
I met them in Charles DeGaulle Airport in Paris in 1983. He asked me to come back to New York with him but I was on my way to Cairo! Those were the days my friend we thought they'd never end. I've got a couple of pics though.
I believe anyone who grew up in the late 50s, 60s, and 70s was blessed to experience extraordinary growth pains and pleasures of change in the US and the world. The 80s and 90s tried to hold on but we can clearly see how creativity, love for what, and who you feel is your own. The music, art, love, and respect are taking a downturn. Many of us had hope for progress and a better world just over the horizon. These days when we see another brother or sister who shared those years with us, we nod, say something accepting, and acknowledging with respect. I often feel sorry for these newer generations. They just don't know!
My favorite part starts at the 6:55 mark. That joker on those keyboards totally lost his mind. Playing under the keyboards then almost turned it over and didn't miss a key doing it....
I first heard this song back in the early 70's chillin with my Grandfather washing his Grand Prix in the Driveway. I was 11 yrs old. I miss those days... Blessed to grow up in that time of GREAT music and artist. 70's soul is unmatched
@Dangerm0usse I am now a 62 year old white make. I was brought up with this music outside of Philly. I know nothing but this music. Actually, I blow some dudes minds with what a white boy knows his music...it's kinda funny. Just wanted to tell you that I have hooked back up with my old girlfriend. I was always mad at myself for not pursuing her. Anyway, her husband died of Luekemia, and I am divorced.....watch out. I used to listen to WDAS when I was in high school. Peace be to all....
I have the same music ‘impressions’ with my Dad. 55 Chevy wagon, front door open Motorola cabinet blasting out to the driveway. Memories I hope kids today have a chance to expo.
By the way, Summer madness is the reason I never have Winter sadness!!!!!! some of the sickest musicians l have ever heard !!!!!!!!!! I'm 64 years young & music like this is why I'll stay young!!!!!! in mind if not body!!!!!!!!! the 70's was my hey day & what a heyday l had!!!!!!!!! & I'm lucky to have magical music like this to have savored!!!!! STAY READY. & U NEVER HAVE TO GET READY !!!!!!!! word's to live by. Peace & luv.
One of my top 5 favorite songs in life. After all these years, it's still good. The groove is just undeniable and plays in my head all the time. Reminds me of getting ready to leave my grandparent's picnic on Sunday afternoon.
I'd like to hear the bass.Beat on my chest and hear the synthesizer. And here are the classical music that has been here and gone.Cause everybody wanna listen to the baby. But now these records are making their way back on the scene.God bless, enjoy these records. They will teach you life's lessons🎉😂
It is 5 a.m. in Moscow (May, 25 - 2018). The sun is up! The day will be warm and sunny. And I am listening to this fantastic, warm and delicate track, enjoying the sun, life and that I am alive - to see and understand the beauty of the world! Love each other, people!
I've seen many shitty triangle players. in many orchestras, the talented one play the drum set, second one on bongos, the shitty one on triangle and shaker. triangle is the soul of soul music, you put a shitty drummer on triangle, then you got shitty triangle.
The best r&b, soul, funk, jazz, instrumental, pop band to me ever. I had the pleasure of meeting Robert Bell, it was a nice experience for me. Summer Madness perfectly reflects its title. Love this song, it evens sounds good performed live.
Sounds better each time. I am a keyboardist and have worked over a year to put all parts in a single keyboard presentation. Lot of stuff going on and of course great keyboards solo by Rusty Hamilton. He and Larry Dunn with the original Earth Wind and Fire are at the top of my list.
Hands down, for me this is in my top ten favorite instrumentals in my playlist. I enjoy every version of this song, but most especially this rendition, because of the arrangement, plus every musician here, brings 100% + of their talent, and their love of music. There’s nothing like old school smooth music, especially when played live. I enjoyed every second of it as I listen to it over and over again. Also thanks to the camera guys for spotlighting each talented performer and the band as a whole.
This song blew my 12 year old mind when it originally came out. Had not heard anything like it before. I’ve seen them three times in concert and they kicked ass every time! RIP to the members who are no longer here.
Wow...being a child of the 70s I already love this song, but this rendition is AMAZING...brother on the guitar sounded like Wes Montgomery. Also, I always knew this song was funky, but I never really caught hold of the psychedelic vibe until now.
Incredible. I'm not at all familiar with this band and I'm glad I discovered this song on GTA Vice City. This live rendition is one of the most amazing performances I've ever seen!
The horns on the intro done it for me!! Then, the way the band changed it up and flowed right into summer madness. Look at all those instruments being played. Live music is where its at. This is my favorite song of all time. From the original studio version in 1972 to every live version since. Background vocals or not, radio version or extended mix, everything about this song makes my heart glad.
It was a treat to see this video, so I can only imagine how it was for the peoples that was there to witness this live. One of the greatest band that pave the way.
Absolutely one of the best old school jams!!! It does not get any better!! I remember when I was in middle school back in 1976 and I heard this song! It never gets old!

Hahaha I love that.
Very nicely stated.
