I thought this girl hated me at work, she was cold. I completely left her alone. Then for my b-day she baked me cake & got everyone to sing happy birthday!!!! I literally was so shocked!! It was great.

Being misunderstood and then gossiped about by arrogant relatives spreading vile sh!t about you leading to your family disliking you showing that they wanted to believe that more than the truth is way worse. Take it from someone with next to no emotional intelligence or social skills
This sounds corny as hell but in my late 20's I figured out that shifting from trying to be liked to seeing if you like someone is the key. That way you can pick and choose the people you surround yourself with. And if they don't like you then try your luck with the 7 billion other people on this planet. All you really need is one person to like you.

One of my cousin’s wife doesn’t like me and she gives me slight dirty looks at family parties. I just smile and wave. 😂 I truly couldn’t care less if she likes me or not 💁🏻♀️

See this is all fine and dandy, but the real problem with too many people is that they won't just leave it at not liking you. They will go out of their way to let you know. You need to know how to deal with that, and I do, but it sucks balls.
I'm still sensitive at times about people liking me or not, but the older I get, the less I gaf who don't like me. Especially certain trolls and people that comment here, lol. It's not a popularity contest. Great video!
People can like you, but it doesn't guarantee they have your back when it counts, unfortunately ..and that is common

When it's people I don't know or who don't really know me, like random strangers, or people online, then like David So said in a video long ago, "I don't give a f'k". Esp. the older I get, the less I care.
Yet if it is family, falsely calling something about my character into question, then I get annoyed. An example of this is: My uncle was at the house visiting. My son; who was in college at the time; and I, were sitting next to each other on the couch. My son was eating some leftover bbq ribs for lunch. My uncle kept trying to hand him cash, and I kept trying to intercept it, because as I said, my son was eating bbq ribs and his fingers were covered in bbq, which I even pointed out was the reason I had said to just hand me the money. My uncle acted like, and basically said he thought if I got my hands on the money that I would pocket it for myself. So instead of handing me the money to hold onto for my son till he finished eating and could wash his hands, my uncle took it upon himself to, without warning, stuff the money down the front of my son's shirt. My son just looked shocked and said "wtf was that?" I said, "he thinks I am going to steal from you so instead of handing me the money, since your hands were dirty he just stuffed it down your shirt." My son said, "well I sure as hell hope he doesn't want a lap dance for that". 😏 My uncle looked at me and said "what did he just say?" I looked him straight in the eye, and said slowly and clearly with emphasis "he said, I sure as hell hope he doesn't want a lap dance for that." 🤨 My uncle looked shock and said "he doesn't really do that, does he?" My son immediately comes back with, saying as straight-faced as he could, "those textbooks don't pay for themselves ya know." I really appreciated my son's quick wit that day.
