I really like your game UWU. Say if Battaliens is becomes a real physical or digital TCG how would you balance the cards for example a common card is weaker than a rare card in almost every way in Battaliens so how would you balance it and yes I am obsessed with TCGs.
Honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did, and now I want another episode to at least finish the week.
I think the power being capped at 9 should have been more explicitly stated. That’s what happened to your Oowoo Spikeyball.
9 + 4 with a cap of 9 is 9. They kinda said that, but they only said that the powers on the cards themselves ranged from 0-9, not that they could ONLY have 9 at most.
Wasn't it rather that +4 applies to damage but not health? Nvm I'm wrong

Looks fun! I love how the cute ms paint facade over a decently deep game fits with the narrative of a card game that made someone disappear

The card game here is actually super interesting. Most games just resort to tribal effects where you just want to get all cards of a single type that all buff each other. This game doesn't quite have that, which I really like.

The twist about Clair disappearing genuinely threw me for a loop! Such a simple detail, throwing an unexpected plot element in the mix, got me hooked, I was enthralled for the rest of the video. Very well done, developers~

In addition to card SFXs, and booster pack opening effects, adding a rudimentary character creation tool would be awesome. Just the ability to mix/match premade hair, faces, clothes to make your custom protag would go a long way.

Weird kid, collects weird things (not UNEATEN FOOD MIND YOU, but I did used to collect a lot of rocks) and has serious existential discussions with other kids who just want to pick their nose and talk about SpongeBob.
Pretty sure that entire laziness speech was exactly something I’d have said back then after a teacher or somebody called me lazy. Thanks, accelerated learning classes. You taught me about the evolution of mankind from hunter/gatherers to farmers and now I’m lazy.

Saw this, and had to get the game, and ended up making a deck from every pack I got one after another and first trying it. It's a fun card game roguelike!
34:27 I think power caps at 9 so maybe that's why the Spikyball didn't get the +4. Dunno why they never explained this if that's the case, though.

wow this is a fantastic game please finish it. gameplay is so smart, looks fun, and the writing is actually super good! story games like this can be dicey, but the dialogue is super natural and fun.

Okay, I had no trust that I would like this game based on its aesthetic… I was actually pleasantly surprised that this could easily become my guilty pleasure. Id love to see more really to understand the rougelite element. If all the cards remain unlocked for each run I don’t think it’d be as fun. I dont want to feel unbeatable from the start.
I wonder if that laziness rant was a clue to skipping battles leading to an Easter egg?

The visuals are not really good to me. I am not talking about the MS paint children drawing aesthetic, this is pretty fun and a good idea. I just think they don’t really follow on that idea with the font, the static visuals and the boxes. It lacks of goofiness while looking a bit clutered.
