'Every moment matters'
Prisoners 2013 Jake Gyllenhaal rage scene
Thanks for watching
I don't own rights of this video and movie
Warner Bros. Entertainment property
How many people are going to post about the same Rafe similarity. Who gives a flying fuck after the first guy posted it?
jstdun Thanks, it needs to be said!
I haven't seen a single comment saying that, but guess what? Jake Gyllenhaal should play Rafe Adler!
jstdun
who's rafe?
channel5980 I KNOW RIGHT
Asd Winxa Rafe Adler, the main antagonist in Uncharted 4. He looks a lot like detective Loki in this movie.
I love how there's no music when he loses his shit, so it makes it so much more realistic and unexpected.
***** Absolutely. A way to measure true emotional impact is if it's still emotional if there's no music. A key example of this not occurring is the scene in ET where he leaves. Seriously, watch it without music and.... yeah....
That's why Denis Villeneuve is my favourite director of all time
You've got to watch no country for old men, the theme is similar to this movie, and there is absolutely no music ANYWHERE in the movie
DV is the man!!
If this was by a lesser director it would have dramatic slow music.
He looks up and thinks, “Shit this isn’t my desk”
dude its a v4
Then he thinks “oh fuck, it’s David’s desk. His wife made that great calzone. He’s gonna kill me now.”
😂😂
Oh wow 😂😂
"I'm really sorry Brenda. Tomorrow I'll, uh... Yeah. I'm sorry."
HAHHAHAAH
Why this movie didn't get nominated for an Oscar is beyond me. Best thriller I have seen since The Silence Of The Lambs and Se7en.
Se7en didn't get nominated for any major Oscars either O_o
Best Cinematography nomination.
***** But that's not a major Oscar, like Best Picture or Best Actor
But the original statement was, "Why the movie didn't get nominated for an Oscar is beyond me." Prisoners WAS nominated for an Oscar. I agree with you on it not being nominated for Best Cinematography, which is not a major category, but that wasn't the comment I was addressing.
***** Oh, my bad, I misread that
Jake Gyllenhaal's hair dresser deserved an oscar for this movie. The acting, directing, cinematography: it's all crushed by the raw emotion that lays atop old Donnie boy's head.
Donnie boy? Hell yes. He will always now and forever be Donnie Darko to me. Beautiful amazing film
I'll never have hair like that.
It's just Jake ideas of all the hair , tattoos, and dresses.
best haircut i've ever seen
It's super attractive
What a great name.
ell Johnny Depp's haircut in Public Enemies is better.
MrRisiko777 That was the style back then tho
Well since time's passed here's my spiel: Andrew Garfields hair in hacksaw ridge is the best imo 😅
His hairstyle and tattoos are on point.
True
Tattoos are shit
Tombrosapien lmao if you get them all over your body then yes they’re shit , but if you get a beautiful piece done by a great artist on your wrist, back, or forearm they can look amazing. However a boomer like you wouldn’t understand so beat grandpa it’s the 21st century.
Looks like Trunks in Dragonball
The Ü·ber·mensch roasted him!!!! 🔥 Fbombs
if that ain't hair goals i dont know what is
his hair in Prince of Persia was more goals
so true hahah
lollll
the only reason im watching this is to observe his haircut
Aseel Anza it's called a slicked back undercut but the back is blended in to the top. There's a few videos on how to do it I'm rocking one where it's 3 inches on top and 1/4 inch on the sides, but Jake's in this is 5 to 6 inches on top and 1/5 on the sides.
that keyboard was a dell. no wonder he did it
Hahaha can't blame the keyboard for the slow as fuck Internet! !😂
😂
Reminds me of angry German kid. Lol
@@unit97thinblueline20 😂
Government issue tech is the worst regardless what it is.
His hair was a character of its own.
Its crazy how Roger Deakins can make a depressing movie look so beautiful. I swear EVERY SINGLE SHOT in this long movie just makes it feel so real and raw! He can make a rainy day look better than a sunny one. He's one of the real stars of this movie...even though Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal are literally perfect in this.
Mark Hazleton you’ll gonna love Sicario and Blade Runner 2049, anytime he works with Denis Villenueve the final product is effin splendid
yeah and best of all none of them were the bad guys, they were the good guys but Hugh looked like the villain for beating up a retarded kid but he wasn't talking so he got what was coming to him.
Ricky I dont think thats what the movie is trying to say
oh ok
deakins is the man
Jake Gyllenhaal seems like a very mild mannered person. Seeing him in Prisoners was pretty intense. Incredible talent!
Danielle L mild mannered ?! yo watch Nightcrawler
Yuhan Perera .....he was also acting in that, you know like actors do, but ok.
Hes such a crackhead irl
Check out Jarhead too
Did you watch Donnie Darko, Southpaw, Nightcrawler?
best fucking hairstyle ever
RobsoN He looks like Rafe from Uncharted 4.
Ebaula Bola Im guessing you came here because of uncharted 4?
do you know name of this hairstyle?
@@sherhana2360 I'd call it an undercut with longer sides
idk if i could pull this hairstyle or no
Detective Loki is an example of why you can’t judge a book by its cover. At first glance he’s arrogant and too laid back when the case starts, but he’s super driven and he cares so much about saving those girls. It consumes him.
I love how even the other cops are realistic in this...when Gyllenhaal goes apeshit on that keyboard..they know better than to ask "are you alright?" because they've probably felt that way at some point too. Even one detective turns around at 1:14 like he's about to ask "are you alright?" but he realizes it won't help so he shuts up. It's things like that I LOVE in movies...something that wasn't even needed but it's the perfect touch and when you KNOW the filmmakers are very detailed about their work.
+Mark Hazleton what an eyes..
Another great detail is later when a bullet grazes Loki's forehead , he limps on the side of his body that corresponds with the side of his head that got damaged, which makes sense as the left and right segments of your brain operate your left and right side of your body!
Probably because they know what kind of detective Loki is, and that's not the first time they have seen him this salty.
Mark Hazleton
They didn't fuck with him not because "they felt the same way at some point" bullshit, they didn't fuck with him because they were all shitted on.
I love how people make up theories that fit their narrative and present them as facts, without anyone questioning them. OP you’re stupid
Gyllenhaal looks flat out badass in this movie
Me when i'm desperate to find a spider that's just ran behind the monitor.
SuperMahmus oh god lol
Adam Halstead Bruhhhhh!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
And now Jake's acting as Mysterio desperately trying to kill Spider-Man lol...
@@jaidonjacob2993
Also Jake Gyllenhaal was involved in a movie with Spider-Maguire
iS tHaT a FaR fRoM hOmE rEfErEnCe?
Jake Gyllenhaal did an amazing job, Oscar yes indeed! And Hugh Jackman also.
Jackman more so in my opinion
Martin Sanchez idk. he was kind of just wolverine as a dad. Jake added small details, and unique mannerisms to his character. He even did very good acting with his eyes. sounds weird but sometime you can see the emotions he felt wothout him having to say anything kind of like how Tom Hardy has done in past movies.
Youre right
K G He did not seem like Wolverine lmaoo. Y'all Don't know shit about acting.
you're damn right
This dude is my favourite actor working today, he's got so much talent!! Also look at that fucking hair it's amazing!!
he is best..i am waiting to see his southpaw
+David Howse Dude as a dude with like a fucked up hairline, I'm so jealous of that hair! Oh if only I was 15 again.
+Rant Therapist i know man im so jealous of that hair!!
+David Howse He's great. I'm waiting for Demolition. And yass his hair looks amazing! Haha
It's so attractive
hugh jackman has the flashier scenes in this movie where he kind of gets to do his thing and just fucking act like crazy, but I honestly think Gyllenhall quietly dominated this movie. He was perfect.
wharmon8 It was just back-to-back scenes of them both proving they're two of the most powerful actors working today. Excellently done.
I do the same thing when I walk into my cubicle office every Monday morning
Do people look at you
They're used to it by now so...not really
Kenny Tee You just get pissed when you have work in the mornings?
More that a weekend's gone already and I'm/we're back to square one on Monday Mornings
Kenny Tee how many keyboards you buy?
I would buy the movie just to see him in that haircut over and over again
Annie D. That's exactly why I watch this film all the time
The thirst is real.
Sam 😂😂
It’s on Netflix if you have it
Thats racist
they should do a sequel of the film but only about Loki´s life
***** That would seriously be amazing....
***** That's fucken exactly what I was thinking
Graziela Almeida I liked his character but they should keep him low key adds mystery
Wunderphil Yeah I was thinking that too...if they put him on True Detective just make him a re-occurring character but don't reveal too much, I think that would be intense as hell!
+Graziela Almeida Duuuuude that would be the shit! I would love that. His character in this was so badass. I kept waiting for scenes with Jake man. This guy is one hell of an actor!
If Loki was in the True Detective universe, my brain would explode due to badass overload.
Bluemgwes
Let’s just pretend this is in the same universe.. And Rhust and Marty are in their little office together. Working hard.
When they’re not breaking heads and cracking cases, they’re reading about the disappearances of both the girls in their pass time.
Prisoners is TD Season 2 in my mind.
Such a great actor! He's so unique, he can do practically anything an actor would wish for. He's got the rage, he acts out the emotional scenes amazingly and he can be a creepy little shit as seen in Nightcrawler haha. I just love him he's easily one of my favourite actors.
Could not agree more. He is so underrated!
choirgirl8
He’s really, really REALLLLLLY not underrated
I really love the caracter development in nightcrawler. Fucking genius!
@@ck891 Not underrated, more like underappreciated by the academy
I never payed attention to Jake Gyllenhaal as an actor. Then, in a week or so I watched Nightcrawler, Enemy and Prisoners. And then I watched Southpaw. And I remembered how good he was in Brokeback Mountain. Suddenly I realized something obvious: he's an incredibly talented actor.
J.F.L. Bousquet watch zodiac with him.
Donnie Darko will forever be his best
The best part of his acting is how much variety he has. Donnie Darko, Detective Loki and Lou Bloom are both 3 intensely different characters with much different situations surrounding them, but he pulls them all of so effortlessly. His performance as Donnie Darko is particularly impressive as well considering how odd and abstract that movie was and how young he was at the time, so many other actors would have screwed up how Donnie is played, but he plays its to perfection
That hair drop is perfection
I am weirdly attracted to this sort of dark thrillers like this one and Seven. Epic performance by Jake Gyllenhaal by the way.
Thanks for the suggestions! Some other nice dark thrillers I enjoyed are The Machinist, Insomnia, May, Stir of Echoes, Shutter Island, Secret Window , The Hole and The Number 23.
Eugenio Moraes One must watch True Detective.
Eugenio Moraes I've noticed Shutter Island has a VERY similar concept to prisoners.
@rodrigo seconded
Also zodiac.
I love this movie. You can feel the desperation from all of the characters after the girls get kidnapped. Prisoners, The Usual Suspects, Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs for me are some of the best suspense/thrillers ever created.
Dunno I didn't actually like the usual suspects that much ahaha, the all twist and story was pretty much worthless cause he could have just srfu and left the room, no need to go on and on if you end up the same way.
Just watched this movie yesterday. The fact that Jake has only been nominated once and hasn’t won a single Oscar is an absolute crime.
The haircut deserves an Oscar alone.
this scene really shows how great Jake is as an actor, it really makes you feel is impotence.
"You want fulfillment, you need to find a girl, start a family, have some kids"...quite possibly the most boomer thing to say especially to a guy that wasn't able to retrieve a kidnapped girl
It's still true for people without family who make their job the sole focus of their life and then they get burnt out when they can't accomplish what they want to.
@@s0nnyburnett I get what you mean, but this was referring solely to the out-of-place comment during that situation. You don't say that to a guy that was trying to retrieve a kidnapped girl and compare that feeling to having a wife and kids. It's just demeaning to the efforts and job.
@@adequatequalityno its deeper than that. I would aftually say thats the most important line of the entire movie. Loki is a complete loner with pursuit of achievment
@@lucan9750 maybe he just really cares about helping people in distress and saving innocent lives, it's not like he is pursuing greatness in a higher art, he is a cop at the end of the day lol
lowkey right but not the correct moment. most people will be happier with a loving spouse and kids
Hands-down one of the best movies of 2013.
this by itself would make an awesome trailer
I love how the cops act behind him. Really makes the scene believable. You can imagine what the cop is thinking.
What makes this movie so good is how invested Loki is into finding the daughter. He's almost just as motivated as Mr Dover. Makes it that much more interesting to watch especially when the two of them have scenes together
He Auditioned For The Batman For Batman Begins And Got REJECTED He Then Auditioned For Jake Sully For Avatar And Got REJECTED Again And Here He Is In Probably THE BEST ROLE OF HIS LIFE - Jake Gyllenhal
after nightcrawler and donnie darko...
Furkan Ocak donnie darko was fucked up man
saccyind Jake Gyllenhaal as jake Sully would have been weird lol.
Furkan Ocak Prisoners is his best. Most people like Donnie Dark to sound smart without knowing any shit hahahahaha
Nina Duran I personally think Nightcrawler was by far his best. I mean, he changed everything about himself to become that character. Between changing his voice(which is extremely, extremely difficult to do as an actor), his physical changes, and everything else. He had the best performance of 2014 without a doubt and didn't even get nominated for it, which is a huge shame.
Loki: trying to solve the mystery of 16 child abductions
Comments: omg hair goals
After watching Nightcrawler and this, I realized Jake Gyllenhaal has some of the best freakouts ever.
Some rage in movies you just feel in your soul... This is deffo one of them.
This is the hottest Jake has ever looked he is always gorgeous but damn that hair in this movie melted me! Hair?! How can hair do that?!
It was a toupee
@@staten84 no it wasn't lol
You're really fucking creepy
So I take it you wouldn’t date a bald guy
Jake Gyllenhaal best movie so far, the acting, the character, the style, just everything
That is the most satisfying breakdown of character in movies
He’s my favorite actor of all time. His character’s seriousness and intelligence, you truly felt that throughout this entire film. And this scene is a perfect example of how he copes with thinking he lost the opportunity to save the girls. Such a great actor and film 💯
The true detective vibes are strong here.
When it comes to the emotion of "rage" few people do it like Jake Gyllenhaal. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Hugh Jackman, and Tom Cruise are the best that I can think of. I want to throw Nicholas Cage in there but he's a little more goofy and I've never seen him in a realistic fit of rage. I'm sure the greats can do it but there's a control that they have after so many years of acting that it almost works against them. Rage needs to be let go, there is no ceiling on the expression of rage as an emotion and few actors truly understand that I feel.
Tobey maguire? 😂
I am just so elated that atleast you gave the legendary Nick Cage a mention. ✌🏻
Don’t forget aaron paul
@@murtazahasan4355 brothers 2009
I think Nick Cage is capable of rage that's not comical. There's a scene in Mandy (2018) where he breaks down after a personal tragedy and I like his transition from physical pain to anger to utter sadness and emotional pain. Its one of his better movies. Just search "Mandy bathroom" and its the first few videos.
I love when this guy plays brooding characters. He's so good at them. I wish he had landed the role of Batman. He would have been great.
What happens when you're as great as Jake, or so consistently great with your roles is that the few sleepers like this one goes unnoticed. Great movie, great cast, great plot and very well filmed. His mannerisms, his tattoos, hairstyle and emotions were amazing but since he's always elite, seems like nobody was surprised.
No drama movie is complete without the clearing of the table!
Brilliant underrated actor. Love Jake he is awesome
I keep coming back to this clip. This haircut was dope afffff ✂️ 💈
Probably his best movie. He's a very good actor.
One of the best haircuts out there
Amazing film with great acting all round... Jackman is especially great. That scene in the car where he loses it has me in tears each time... My doughter was about 5 at the time this movie came out.. So i could feel the emotions throughout on a personal level...
Jake deserved best supporting oscar award for this movie. Underrated movie.
What an amazing movie man... I really loved it, this was the first Jake Gyllenhaal movie I've ever saw and that acting and THAT HAIR man. Just perfect
“Sir, the girl you made eye contact with two years ago got a boyfriend.”
After watching this movie I'm very glad he turned down his role as batman to do this.
Wait.... He was set to be the DCEU Batman?
God Jake looks so hot in this movie. His hair and that neck tattoo are one point.
I remember seeing this movie as a freshmen in high school in 2013; looking back on it as a senior, this is still an amazing film!! Jackman, Gyllenhaal, Davis, & Howard should have reviewed Oscar nominations
Wow! So this is where they got Rafe from Uncharted 4 from. I mean come on. That is exactly what Rafe looks like. Thats awesome!
His hair...i just can't stop focusing on his hair! 😎
Gyllenhaal's hairline and hair are absolutely perfect, holy fuck
I don't care what the pinned message says, Jake Gyllenhall needs to play Rafe Adler.
He makes smashing a keyboard look so cathartic.
This film was so freaking good. All the actors performed amazingly. And their performance felt so realistic.
I can't think of the name Loki without thinking of Tom Hiddleston's Loki.
I can, it's easy when you're not a huge Marvel buff and only seen the first Thor movie.
@@JackWalker12993 Yeah well, you sir inherit a rare mental disability.
@@Lavender34124 I apparently inherit a rare disability because I'm not a huge Marvel fan? You must be fun at parties dude...
@@JackWalker12993 Thanks. And yes. I am, cause i can relate with everyone the most.

I love how the cops around him are in shock at first but decide to leave him alone.
His hair should have it's own religion.
This is what makes him one of my favorite actors. Night crawler another fav of mine
I love that every time loki is getting onto something they zoom in from his back.
Damn I wish I had that haircut. I walked into the salon and asked for the Jake Gyllenhaal but when I walked out they clearly gave me the Paul Dano. fml
Underrated movie for sure- storyline, acting, direction-all on point
This is probably one of the best performances of Jake Gyllenhaal's career, and the fact he didn't even get an Oscar nomination is crazy for me. The whole cast of Prisoners is excellent, but Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal and Paul Dano (even barely speaking the entire movie) are the hightlights in my opinion.
He is SO awesome in this role.
I find the part at 1:12 so realistic. Whenever you’re finished that blind rage, you feel exhausted and just wore out out. The way he just carelessly stares and flicks at the van is just genius acting.
Such an underrated masterpiece and one of my favourite movies. This scene is probably the best in the film because of how real it is.
Hugh and Jake were phenomenal in this.
This was his best role. The way he acted and looked and he had this tough guy accent to him. He should have been nominated for an Oscar. He was amazing not to mention he looked so damn fine.
1:20 his finger is bleeding... he really broke the keyboard with real anger!!!!
Good acting.
To act you simply can't, "act". It's too deceiving. You have to actually BECOME angry.
@@xxxfirehuunterxxx alright Gandhi
He was so good in this. He's beautiful.
💚
Rafe and Joel in the same movie 😂
UzumakiAbdi right!!???
True!
many may love tom hardy..chris evans..christian bale and so and so...but jack gyellenhal proved to be an actor with high intensity .he is someone who really knows to select movies
It seems like the hair also did a fine acting of its own.
Damn what a hunk
I like how he’s still looking at the maze at the beginning and still hasn’t accepted defeat subconsciously. Even if he tried to he can’t let go of his obsession. I think a character like Loki will die young, unhappy, and alone just because of his sacrifice and devotion to the case.
There was something hauntingly attractive about Loki.. I really wish we get to see any sequel about him.
The FBI after they see the most detailed domestic terrorism plan they have ever seen followed by "in minecraft"
Going to watch this again... Now.. Thanks
Jake is soo handsome best hair in a film
A true masterpiece.....completely ignored by the Academy for whatever reason!
Jake Gyllenhaal?? With the best haircut ever???? AND TATTOOS?!!! Confirmed: he is the love of my life
One of the most underrated performances of all time
8 year old me when the school project i never started is due tomorrow
The way he sweeps out the table and instantly holds his head is the most realistic thing I’ve ever seen.
One of those films you wish you hadn't seen. Just so you can watch it for the first time again.
One of the most underrated actors currently.
Goddammit I am tired of the fucking oscars not at least NOMINATING great actors like jake fucking gyllenhaal I mean oh my fucking god he was fucking great in this movie he was great in zodiac he was great in Donnie Dario he was FUCKING MINDBLOWING in nightcrawler but still on,y 1 Oscar nod and 1 golden globe nod geez the oscars need to stop worrying about Meryl fucking Streep and start pay attention to some real acting class not saying that Meryl Streep is a bad actress which she's not but I think u get THE FUCKING POINT.
No care to explain further.....
Donnie Darko man... It's Donnie DARKO.
Meryl Streep is in a completely different category... what?
Well said... Though tone down the swearing
Fucking fucky fuck
Why do I feel like I can relate to every character jake gylenhal plays
