Best Hardcore Punk album of 82.. while Heavy Metal was struggling and Thrash Metal was just a year away from booming into what it was known for

Hear Nothing See Nothing... album was also brutal with alot of metal guitar playing in almost all of the songs, you can hear the chug metal guitar playing, heavy metal leads, even doom metal guitar as in the intro to the album and later in the I won't Subscribe song, and it had the hyper-speed drumming, the most fastest in the world in 1982 and all this influenced thrash metal. Its not just a hardcore punk album. I would label it brutal, speedcore, hardcore punk, metal, thrash.

Episodes of Resonators that'd be awesome: the first Agent Orange album, Fire of Love by the Gun Club, Vs. by Mission of Burma, Gyrate by Pylon, G.I by the Germs, Los Angelos by X, Marquee Moon by Television, ...And Don't The Kids Just Love It by Television Personalities, Entertainment! by Gang of Four. This series has limitless potential. Great vid, Mark!

Discharge wasnt supposed to be this big punk/hardcore phenom the music was supposed to be raw as were the lyrics. Its was meant to be 1 and a half to 2 mins of charged straight forward reality and anarchism.EVERY SONG DROPS GEMS! and kept it easy for the ignorant to understand.Yes im a Discharge fan HEAVY! I feel they dont get due props. And FYI the WHY ep is the pure dbeat not every song on hear nothing is d beat.AND..you dont even give them the props of pretty much making or help two start two sub genres.

A wise man speaks because he has something to say. A fool speaks to say something. This is a prime example of someone who talks so much, but doesnt say anything important. If you made this review in 1982 during those times which you clearly didn't live through. You know how impacting this was.

@@SpectrumPulse no one ever said it was quality. That's your problem. They even said it themselves its noise not music. It's east for you to look at everything after because you have that luxury. But if this was 1982, tomorrow wasn't certain. The cold war was the reality. All thrash talks about nuclear war because of them. Funny how all the metal acts praise Discharge. Because nothing at that time sounded like it... "if discharged didnt exist someone else would of created it"? Doubtful, literally everyone was influenced by this album. Just look at acts like venom, motorhead, the exploited suicidal tendencies shit even the misfits with earth a.d . Things literally changed after this release. Dismiss this album all you want. Crap all over their low budget production. You're just silly.

why is there not a voting poll for the resonators reviews? i feel like the crowd opinions should still matter, even on old classic records. the video would benefit by obtaining the ability to show how the album has aged in the popular consciousness, and your this fanbase is perfect for this job because they chose this era for this show themselves.

I bought this album when it first came out,and it just stood out from everything else that was out at the time,it was on another level, production wise and everything.
And I knew that at the tender age of 17 that this album was gonna be special in the future, and I was right.
You would of had to hear this at the time to appreciate it, not 36 years later!!!
This is a master piece of noise as it is,and could never be improved.....

Do you think he will cover Chumbawamba on Resonators, especially because of his history with the band?

@Loaves Turn Inside You He's stated that they're one of his favorite one-hit wonders, and he started a retrospective on his blog dedicated to the history of the band.

I was wondering if you were considering posting a list of other albums considered for Resonators. More so for your audience.

You seem to forget that they lasted longer as a band like Crass....they sounded similar in the 70s.

He's specifically doing 80s hardcore punk this year, so maybe if he explores a genre they're related to in 2019.

You are not 15 are you? From my perspective looking back I was gobsmacked by the soundtrack of political unrest, anarchist ideology, no money etc. Your sophisticated take down is well versed but not realistic given the time of delivery.

Respect your opinion but I disagree. I love the lyrics and I love RAW sloppy sound! I love the Dis-clone bands that it spawned. Check out Disclose! I think they are better then discharge. They took what discharge did and maybe it even more primitive!

I think you would really enjoy their Never Again album. It's filled with remixes/remasters of songs from this album as well as some of their early EPs, the production is much more nuanced and punchy so I think these songs reached their full potential on that comp. Great review!
