I'm surprised at the inclusion of Chris Stapleton's feature in the worst songs list. I was hoping for more, but didn't think it was that bad.

LOL As an Eagles Fan, I definitely can relate to this! 😂😂😂
Also, If songs with DOLLY PARTON and CHRIS STAPLETON are mentioned as the worst tracks from the album..... I'm guessing they must've REALLY fumbled the bag there (from your description, it does sound really bad.)
The Dolly Parton one I agree is the worst, but the Chris Stapleton one really isn't that bad. Just letting you know ahead of time. I'd say listen to them and come back once your done. Then we can really debate.
Go Birds!
Honestly, this feels like what I would listen to in the 2000s when i was a country fan and I mean that wholeheartedly as a complement. I prefer this over Beyoncé's country album.
I think this album is very likeable
Agreed
They released the wrong Post Malone/Luke Combs collab as a single because "Missin' You Like This" is absolutely excellent. I mostly like the album and considering the singles roll out ("I Had Some Help" has especially hit the precise point now of being shrill and overplayed) I was expecting a disaster of an album but ended up coming away with a lot of songs I either love or like.
Definitely agree that Missin’ You Like This is much better than Guy For That, although I still like I Had Some Help
Not really wrong single, because I love Guy for That, but I do want Missin You Like This to be released too
Yes agreed and the long bed album proves it I hoping he pushes on of those as the next single
While this is nowhere near the best country album dropping this year, I was definitely pleased with how much I enjoyed the album. Even the weaker tracks I wouldn't say are bad but rather they just don't work, while the best moments are really stunning, especially with the tracks from the 'Long Bed' expansion.
honestly hearing this review we need to get posty and adeem the artist in the studio together is what it sounds like (either that or tiktok needs to get its shit together and make for judas and one night stand go viral)
Imagine making an album where your worst songs are collaborations with artists like Dolly Parton and Chris Stapleton.
I was expecting the collaboration with Hank Williams Jr. to be named the worst
Chris Stapleton isn't (to me)
"California Sober" is wretched, I adore Chris Stapleton but man alive that song is terrible
@@warrensmitchellyeah, that's my personal least favorite song off the album
Yes it was really disappointing
You were kinder to thus album than I expected after watching the Billboard BREAKDOWN reviews
The singles aren't really a good guide to the album to be fair.
@@juliekeast6175 That's true
@@juliekeast6175...I had some help was not good, but I think everyone is unfair to the Pour Me A Drink and that Luke Combs collab.
Well the singles are just their yo please the radio
Honestly, most of the album is just mildly pleasant mainstream country that I enjoyed listening to but will likely forget about in just about seven-and-a-half seconds. There are some gems in here that I've been listening to like nobody's business, though - Guy for That with Luke Combs has been clicking with me in a big way, and Nosedive with Lainey Wilson might be my favorite song out of either artist's discography, and one of the best songs I've heard all year. And I emphatically concur with Mark in saying that the Dolly Parton collab is a mess, which is a real shame because it's probably the song I was most interested to hear when I saw the tracklist. All things considered, it's a pretty good mainstream country album, but I would struggle to call it truly exceptional outside of a few bright moments.
Surprised Chris Stapleton got the worst over hardy
honestly for a post malone country album it was wayyy better than i expected
AUSTIN was a top 5 album of 2023 for me. Haven't heard this yet but I have an idea of how this is gonna be and I just want Posty to return to AUSTIN's sound and ideas, maybe with a rock style.
Dead at the honky tonk being a legit, great country song is so funny, like what are the odds. If the guitars sounded a bit less plastic I would say it was his best song.
I love that song
Enjoyed your review very much, looking forward to checking out the album myself.
You should check out India Ramey’s brand new album, ‘Baptized By The Blaze’. I know how much you love great country music. India is up and coming and put out one of the best country albums of the year so far!
Man Dollys voice sounds ROUGH on that one.
I'm glad my initial reaction seems widely shared 😅
It's not so much the vocal mix for me, but it's the fact that it's trying to be a love song. And it doesn't work because of the huge age gap
NGL, I'm kinda nervous about that Dolly Parton track going into it
@@GraysonHVA That's exactly what I was thinking about that track after listening through the album+deluxe for a second time.
Dolly's voice, the framing of the lyrics, and the production don't do it any favors...it's a rough ride
Are you planning on reviewing the long bed edition?
My biggest problems with this albums is not just that the guest singers don’t add anything, it’s that you could substitute out any of the male singers (except probably Stapleton & Strings) and the results would still be the same.
This feels like a gift to Mark from Posty considering all the country in it.
I was NOT expecting the vacation setup 😂
Ok but seriously I do understand the culture vulture critique. Tbh though maybe the collabs were wrong. I think collaborating with Blake Shelton and Luke Combs produced the best songs on the album, and Chris Stapleton also was good here, but I think dolly parton works better with artists like Beyonce than Posty, and I'd squeal at the thought of Morgan Wallen being replaced with Noah Kahan and / or Olivia Rodrigo.

Its a concept album
This album is way better then Beyoncé’s one
Was meh imo
I thought Austin was the worst album from last year actually
You’re so wrong
Mid and boring I'll stick Vile Rites debut album for progressive death metal
