It's not my place to say whether you're a better person or not. I don't personally know you so I have zero gauge. The internet is not all that it seems. The only thing that matters to me is that since I started watching you in like 2012 or 2013, whenever it was, you inspired me to the point it took my playing in a different direction. Through you, I learned better picking patterns and phrasing. You also taught me to not care about shit so much, which has allowed me to enjoy life much more. Watching you has become a family affair. I hope one day I can be half the guitarist you are and a quarter of the business man you are. Thank you and happy new year!

Hey its my daughter's birthday today too, (December 30th). Only difference is my little girl turns 23 today while yours is just four. My daughter was born two months early and she was only 3 pounds at birth so I know the feeling of being worried not knowing if everything would turn out fine. I always heard that one day you will turn around and she will be grown and you will wonder where the time went. I can affirm that it is 100 percent true. I guess what I am trying to say is spend as much time as you can with your daughter now, because she will be grown up before you know it.

Hey Ola, yesterday I bought a nice 2019 agenda planner to physically write up daily tasks (like ''record guitar riffs of song X, bass of Y, organize Z riff ideas'', etc) based off your suggestion (which at first sounded kind of goofy/weird to me), but the more I thought about it, the more it made a LOT of sense - I already use a white board to write up general ideas, but this daily planner idea is genius
I think it will help me organize my music work way better, be more productive, more committed and effective, I'm stoked!
Thank you so much for all your help (even since the Sneapsters days), a happy 2019 to you!!

Here's a story my mom always tells. When I was born on May 30th, 2002, I was born with the cord around my neck and I wasn't crying or moving. The doctors had to take me from my mother to help me catch up with my breathing, then finally brought me back. Thank God your family survived Ola. God bless your family and your content.

I had very similar situation. Born 4th July 1997, with the cord wrapped thrice around my neck, had to be kept inside an incubator for two weeks. It was very bad for my health, because I can't use my brain fully, like other people. I'm not disabled, but I have huge problems with memory, concentration and feeling emotions.
It is so hard to live with all of these. People see me as a normal person, but I'm struggling to function like so.

I only started watching you earlier this year but you’ve grown to be one of the main reasons I strive to become a better player and overall better person. As cliche as it sounds I feel you’re someone the younger generation of musicians can look up to. You’re a self made man to put it. You’ve been playing in different bands throughout the years, have signature gear and other deals, and even started your own company (I plan on purchasing a Solar V very soon!). I could keep going on but to conclude just keep being the Ola we love.

Ola, it's really good see you talking from your heart. I've lived a similar experience: my wife almost died in 2013 from a stroke (she was 27 at the time), after a week in coma she started to be more awake (like 20 minutes per day), the doctors said that she would probably have some issues... But time passed by and she got normal again. a few years later (2016) we were in a car accident where I broke my neck in five different places. I was so fucking scared man. Long story short: 4 to 6 months later was ok, healthy and walking. I'm telling you this because in both situations I've learned, ,as you , to say fuck off and to give less fucks and to care about things that really matters. The sad part in that I'm both cases after a while the relaxed and grateful feeling of just being alive fade a little away and I still am a very stressed person,I`m still getting nervous and anxious about things that really doesn't matter in the end of the day. I know, I'm an idiot. So tell me CoolOla how do you do to remind you every day what's important to you and how to ignore the small shit?

EDIT: Damn, it’s cool to read through the comments and hear about all these real-life stories. Ola’s followers are awesomely genuine peeps. I have two sons of my own, 15 and 12 years old, thriving successfully, each in his own way. The person who would have been their older brother didn’t make it to birth back in 2001, so not a day goes by when I don’t look at those two with feelings of great pride and (as a parent always experiences) a measure of worry.

Ta muchly=thank you very much. Northern English dialect. My accent (yorkshire) we tend to shorten words or miss out letters when we pronounce them. Also I was led to believe that ta or taa was shortened from the Scandinavian Taak for thank you when the ancestors arrived back in 700-800ish. One of the most famous Yorkshire dialect phrases is tintintin. Which means.. It isn't in the tin.

They’ve done well for themselves. They’re not perfect, but they do well with their situation.
America is different. If every citizen got out of debt and stayed out of debt, the government would crash right now. No loans, credit cards, car payment, mortgages etc.
the only thing that’s trickled down is debt. The banks borrow it from the government and pass it to the citizens. If you don’t play their game, you’ll do extremely well. Debt is how they oppress you.
So like. Fuck the system lol

Happy New Year, Ola! Your Neural DSP Fortin recommendations have had a deep impact. I agree that real amps still sound better. But these Fortin plugins combined with additional mix techniques are a pretty damned devastating combination. I want to thank you for being informative and fun to watch. I always look forward to your videos and appreciate your candid engagement with your audience. I'm glad to be among them. Cheers, brother!

Love it when your family appears in your videos, Ola! Happy birthday to your little girl, and happy new year for you and your loved ones. What are your thoughts on Sepultura? Their latest albums are just KILLER, Andreas is playing better than ever (and that's saying something!) and Eloy Casagrande is just overkill on drums, guy is a beast. Cheers from Brazil, bro. Have a good one!

    Really wholesome story Ola.

Many people may only see the stupid jokes, the burps and the rudeness, but i know that you are really a great person and a better father, i knew the story about your dog and i just heard your daughter's story, i am glad that everything worked out and i am really happy for you, i have even shed a tear. Take care of your family and i know its already late but happy birthday to her and merry christmas to you and your family. Keep rocking, love your videos!!!

And I just bought my ax8 'cause your vids, and used your vids even to make my own presets and understand how it works!
Tks for been a inspiration about doing whatever you want in your life, instead of complaining about what you do and doing nothiing to change it, like 99% of people out there!!

Hey Ola. Thanks for sharing a deeply personal detail about your life. My wife suffered an eptopic pregnancy 16 years ago ( a week before Xmas) and lost a lot of blood. I really did not know if I would see her alive again. Lucky she survived but we lost the child. We have a daughter who is 14 now and loves music and playing the ukulele. The point is it sometimes catches up with me like a slap in the face and that you as a man posting your story helps me to know I am not alone with these things, considering us men feel we need to hide that stuff and be tough men. Thanks.
Ps. I awarded you person of the year in my annual Matty awards on facebook. Congrats.
