I'm in the same situation man! I was considering becoming a member so I can have my 20 year-old songs reviewed by a real metal community. This is surely the year to bring back the metal!
Ola ! I've been a subscriber since 2010, and I have learned a lot from you, even I met you at your clinic in Mexico in 2014. Just want to say that I seriously hope you to achieve your house dream, you deserve that and much more ! Keep on the good work and thanks for your videos, music and those swedish words of the day ! Hope to have you back in Mexico soon !
I found your channel just before the start of my Christmas vacation , today is the last day of my vacation and I’m happy to say I spent my whole time off watching your videos. Time well spent
You inspired and showed me that playing metal can become a living, I started a UA-cam channel last year and most of the confidence to do that came from watching your channel and learning. My most viewed video to date is an overview of my S1.6 Poplar Burst. Thank you for showing the rest of us that with hard work we can do what we love and succeed.
I really appreciate your authenticity, like for example talking about your ideas about buying a house. The more I look the more I find inauthenticity in everyday life, society, politics, anywhere really. Being authentic to me seems one of the most important things for people to live together peacefully but also to work through conflicts. And as inspiration goes in circles, thanks for yours to just be authentic and real once again ;-)
Hi Ola. Watching your FAQ videos have become my Sunday morning ritual at work. They come out around 4am my time. I'm still hopeful that someday I will be able to own one of those sexy E2 Solar guitars.
Thanks Young Man! Happy 2019!! You do indeed have a sincere and positive affect on others - pretty easy for me to see, and even though I am probably one of your older (oldest?) subs at 56, and a classical double bassist - I just bought a ESP 7 string (can't get a solar yet) and a Blackstar amp + metal pedal. I can HONESTLY say I would not have got them if it were not for you. Wishing you the best of success and happiness with your family. W|Ll
Thanks for choosing my question Ola, actually the two bands I have suggested was like more Death Metal than Kryptos, you could check them later as well.
Another awesome faq! Good luck with the cottage dream. Hopefully you'll get it. For me, I'm going full time with the Guitar Noodle website so the dream for this year is massive growth now I'll be able to put out far more content.
Have you seen the Schecter Reapers? Those finishes reminded me of your Solars, also the cutaways of this years Ibanez Axion RGA, Jackson Dinkys, ESP Hs and even Mitchell MDs are similar to yours. Look at you Ola, setting trends in the guitar industry.
I bought my first house in 2018 and it’s best decision I ever made. Owning a home gives you pride and the feeling of “this is MINE”. And having a yard for kids to run around and play in is the best! Hope you achieve your 2019 dream! 🤘
Hi Ola, My dream this year is to get started on a UA-cam channel. Can you demonstrate how you edit your audio and video and what editing software you use? Cheers from Canada.
Thank you ola for reading my question... i was actually unaware that you had designed guitars for Washburn prior to starting your own company so that's cool. I can't wait to hear your new music...feared is definitely my new favorite band since i discovered last month.
My dream for 2019 is to grow an bigger audience for my new solo album and have the opportunity and little bit of luck of getting more exposure somehow. I know there are alot of people out there that would dig the music I did very much, the problem is, how to get to them in this vast ocean.
Hey Ola, really enjoy your channel and think it's awesome you run your own guitar line at the same time. Definitely a rare combo to see, even in the non-guitar gear world.
Hy OLA !!! First of all i want to thank you , because you inspired me to pick up guitar . I hope i'll see you soon in case you'll have gigs in Romania .
You should see if Devin Townsend can make it for Coffee with Ola. It would be perfect, he has a new album coming in March. Last I saw on Twitter, he was taking a break from coffee, but Ziltoid always gets his coffee
Good luck with your home search Ola! I was very lucky in 2011 to have a down payment for a place in the San Francisco bay area and when market prices were bottomed out. (There's no way I could afford it now) The home search can be difficult and frustrating, but it's SO worth it. It's great to be able to play as loud as I want, but I usually don't... I value what's left of my hearing and already have a bit of tinnitus. Good luck to you!
Thank you for being so thankful, appreciative and helpful back towards your fans! By watching your different videos it’s obvious you are more than the average UA-camr. You’ve been a big inspiration for me to get back into metal, explore new metal sub-genres and start chugging on guitar myself. Hope to own my own S1.6ETLB LTD one day, one of the most beautiful guitars I’ve ever seen.
Hi Ola, long time subscriber, love your content and style. I’m playing guitar for about 20 years now, mostly metal. Last couple of years I’m struggling to stay motivated to pick it up. Got young kids, career, post-master study, sports... just busy. I sold lots of gear and now just use my Jem and plugins (Reaxis). Somehow everytime I play now I get bored really fast. Would love to hear some advice from you: what should I do to get (and stay) motivated again? Thanks and have a great 2019!
Mark N man, I recently had some similar lulls in motivation/creativity. I scooped up a new guitar and started revisiting stuff I used to play along to when I was younger. Super simple Hypocrisy songs, or older At The Gates riffs. I’m no master, but playing along to stuff I dig really got my brain working again. I’ve got a couple songs outlined at this point. Pick it back up!!
This is my first FAQ of yours, and it was AWESOME! Thank you for doing these! At the end of your video, you had mentioned letting you know what a dream of ours is. Mine isn't really as much of a "dream", as it is a goal for 2019, but it is to do one video per month for my own channel. I am always learning about how to make my videos better, and your channel has been helping me with that! THANK YOU!!! I look forward to your upcoming videos!
My dream for 2019... Solar stainless steel frets, multiscale, Fishman equipped, 6/7 strings, purple or red burst. Oh, and maybe find hapiness in whatever ways... ^^ And master "Bleed" from Meshuggah! :)
My dream for 2019 is to have Senpai Ola notice me and answer my pointless questions so I can feel somewhat validated in life. But other than that maybe afford getting a driver's license?
So I'm watching BrOla talk about statistics while I take a breather from my job at a psych ward, volume's up, and there comes the mighty burp. The nurses and patients all turn their heads. You are awesome Ola Merchlund.
Hola Ola. Just wanted to say thank you for being a huge inspiration on me. As a guitar player who is trying to go "solo" watching your channel makes me want to keep picking up my guitar and writing riffs! Cheers in 2019. My dream for the new year is to record my first album on my own
I just left my gf sleeping in our bed on a Sunday early morning to see your new FAQ, half-naked in the bathroom. What the *#@¥ is going on with my life?
Its 3a.m. here and I woke up to my wife watching "Realhouse Wives" which is basically rich women fighting with each other. Thankfully this gave me a reason to leave the room.
I rarely dream but my goal for my band this year is to independently release our album. There are a gazillion of challenges but with a sharp focus and solid dedication, I feel that we can do it. Cheers Ola!
Yes but if you notice that people like him do because he provides content for idiots as well as young musicians most music channels won't get that far because there content is actually more focused on being about actual music . It's not actually a positive .
Your review of the Boss Katana 50 was one of the keys that got me interested in trying it out. Now I own one and I am extremely pleased with it. I run a tuner, a cry baby, and a Blackstar LT Dual into it.
You are a big inspiration for me. Just when I was bored and getting ready to sell my gear I came across your UA-cam page. This rejuvenated a new energy in me picking my guitar up again. My question for you is if you are stuck in a rut and can't come up with some fresh ideas, how do you get out of said rut? Also thinking bout picking up a solar guitar next month. Keep up the great work.
My dream for 2019 is to continue to play, write and record metal. Hopefully get better, lol. Good enough to share with more than just a few people. Thank you Ola for all you do, and best of luck with your summer cottage!
Just ordered my A2.6 Lemon Neon Matte a few days ago. Cant wait. Altough it will take some time to arrive. But it will be worth it. Thank you for making awesome Guitars Ola and as allways great video
Hey! I always wait when the new video of yours comes! This year I hope to get back playing in a band. Went through shit storms and life changing stuff last year so I hope something nice comes along. Maybe metal band putting together, maybe a Haunted in Finland this year?! Keep your game strong and positive!
My dream for 2019 is playing bunch of shows in Europe with my technical thrash metal band Scytharm like the DM band Burial Invocation for whom we opened their show in Istanbul. Following you since the last seven years, I've always been impressed by how you brought the sincere musician vibe to youtube. I appreciate the value you've created for metal freaks like us. Keep it up blondie!
Hey Ola thanks For Letting me join the Solar Guitars team. I look forward to joining you on fortin. I own the e.16et and it is the best explorer I've ever played. Quite possibly the best guitar I've ever played. Thanks for the show of faith. I watch all your videos btw. Look forward to the weekly faqs
I quit my regular office job a little bit more than a year ago and started my production company for music events in Chile. My dream for 2019 is to be able to bring more and bigger bands here and continue to support music, which is my lifetime passion :). Thamks for sharing your dream and I wish everybody the best of luck
Solar Pt 1 is great music when traveling! My dad has a cottage/small farm, and really liked to go there as a kid…so I just order the Guitarist Edition Bundle! Best of luck.
If it makes you feel any better, I spent an hour tracking a song and them realized that I was using a different amp sound than the other songs on the album. Why didnt I record DIs? Trying to save time by not reamping. 🤷🏼♂️😔
Ola! How have you found the acoustics of your room since you put your logo/wooden wall up and replaced the soundproofing pads? Thank you reigniting my love of guitar. I bought an A2.7WHM and I'm playing guitar so much now, after 10 years of having a love/hate relationship with them. You're such a huge inspiration, thank you for doing what you do. Keep it up!
My dream for 2019 is for my friend and I to finally release our music and, hopefully, begin to attract some sort of following. You're a huge inspiration, both musically and personally. I take your advice very seriously and we will be kind of following your model for how we handle releasing our music. If there is any other advice you have regarding this that you didn't cover in your clinic or in FAQs, I'm all ears! Thanks for everything, Ola.
One of my top goals, is: to, finally, get one of your Solar guitars. I was saving up, but have purchased two other guitars in the last two weeks ( sorry, they were another brand; but, stupid crazy deals). Enjoy all your content you share with us; and mb ay 2019 be another year year for you. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻
Hey Ola, first of all I wanted to thank you for the inspiration you give to all of us and respect for the Hard Work you put in to get everything going (Work and Family etc.) !!! Most of all I enjoy your Sense of Humor, the FAQ's (great Way to start a Sunday morning) and your Livestreams. I cannot recommend your Membership enough :-) For the Future i also hope to own one of your Solar Guitars ;-) My Question for the next FAQ: In the past you owned a Kemper and you sold it, but why? I understand that an AX8 is more practical for your Live Work (because you like real Tube Amps more) but you never mentioned something about that. I am a Kemper Owner myself and i like it very much. I use it Live and in the Studio and we used it for our Band to Reamp the last Album with it. I think it's awesome to have so many Choices today, but sometimes it's a little bit overwhelming... Greetings from Germany
Follow your dreams yo! This years goal is to record a EP with new band, new high end TAMA kit, stop taking my medication thats part of my recovery, and hook up with a Iowa girl. Been here over a year, got clean and sober, my own house and doing way better then before I moved from west coast. Best wishes Ola, make it happen!
Hey Ola, your channel is awesome, you inspired me to learn and improve my english, i know its a channel about music stuff, but this help me a lot, so thanks man. Greetings from Brazil
My dream for 2019 is to start making videos and connect with other musicians in the same way you do. I've learned a lot from your videos and you helped teach me teach myself how to become a better musician. I want to keep paying that forward.
Those are some nice looking guitars with great features - and for excellent price points. I may have to get one. I love the reverse head stock by default.
I always wondered -if you haven’t answered already- what program do you use for your wallpaper in your desktop and also what’s the name of the dBA meter you have Oj your desk
Hey Ola, what's up from Florida. I know you don't talk about upcoming solar models, but it would be awesome to see the E style body in a 7 string. I'm currently playing a Washburn Solar 7 string and love it. Rock on bro.
Okay, had to stop this video to go listen to Solar part 1. Fuckin beautiful man! Been listening to a lot of David Maxim Micic lately, on your recommendation, and it seems like your solo album will scratch that same itch. Pre-ordering the new album as I type. Love your videos, sir. I'm not a musician but they never cease to inspire me in my everyday life. Keep up the good work Ola the Swede \m/. Skal from Tennessee!
Hi Ola! I've been down with kidney failure for the last year or so and ive been far too down to play again. Fourtunately my amazing wife has stepped up in a big way as my kidney donor. Long story short, watching your "will it chug" series has reminded me what I loved so much about playing guitar, great distorted tone! You're my inspiration to get my head out of my ass, get through this transplant, and get back to playing. Will you be continuing the "chug" series?
If you're looking for a good summer house you could check out Ingarö and Tranarö. It's pretty close to stockholm and it is really nice and cozy there. I'm not sure on the prices there, but it shouldn't be too high
Lol thanks Ola! That made my day. You seem like a great guy and your videos always have top tier content. To answer your question, I'm devoting this year to improving my music writing as well as my skills on guitar. I hope I can be as cool as you one day. Keep on keepin' on!
Howdy Ola! An overall increase of 14 subscribers during this FAQ, not bad!! Keep up the awesome work. I enjoy your videos and I'm saving my pennies for a Solar Jensen model, it has everything I'm looking for in a metal guitar. Best of luck in 2019!!
First I wanted to say that I love watching your videos, thanks for being you and doing what you do. I was wondering about your thoughts on B.C. Rich guitars and if you plan on designing more body styles for Solar? I would love to own a Solar guitar some day soon. I really like the trans red color in a baritone. Thank you again for your awesome videos and keep on rockin brother!🍻
I hope you achieve your dream! That’s actually mine as well. Another one would be to do a collab with you and some other solar artists for a big “solar artists jam” I think that would be very cool and really get some more people aware of the brand in general! Cheers!
Cool FAQ as always. Especially though the ending was very sincere. Always a good goal to provide for the good of the family. My goal is also to go house shopping around July or so. Also working more with Ableton and maybe releasing my first track on UA-cam this year. How do you decide if a track is good enough/ ready to be released to the public?
What’s up Ola, I’ve been listening to this band Dendera and they really good. A good song to first song to listen to is Blood Red Sky. Love the vids and great humor 🤘🤘
Hey Ola! Your videos are amazing, I love everything that you are doing. I wonder sometimes while watching these FAQ's, is it more rewarding for you to create music or to create content like this that inspires budding musicians? I'm sure your music inspires people too, but I'm imagining the motivation for creating music is more personal. It seems like these videos, along with your gear reviews and tutorial videos are more aligned with helping others. Really appreciate all you do and always looking forward to future Ola content!

If it makes you feel any better, I spent an hour tracking a song and them realized that I was using a different amp sound than the other songs on the album. Why didnt I record DIs? Trying to save time by not reamping. 🤷🏼♂️😔
My 2019 Dream is to own a Solar Jensen can't wait!
Thank you Ola for all your hard work!
I wish your wish of getting a cottage this year become a reality.... Happy New Year Ola and Family...
Can't wait to see your new house tour video! Wish your dream come true! A fan from China.
Ola! Remember me?! I love that you just do on what makes you happy rather than killing yourself over the rest of life, shred it up buddy🤘🏻
Dear Ola, Proud of you tew
I liked the way you said "welcome to my FAQ number 70" and the Db meter read "70" at the same time. I dare you to continue this for all FAQs to come!
I'm so excited for this album to come out, are you excited to be releasing it? Thanks for this channel, its awesome!!
Hey Ola,
first of all I wanted to thank you for the inspiration you give to all of us and respect for the Hard Work you put in to get everything going (Work and Family etc.) !!! Most of all I enjoy your Sense of Humor, the FAQ's (great Way to start a Sunday morning) and your Livestreams. I cannot recommend your Membership enough :-) For the Future i also hope to own one of your Solar Guitars ;-)
My Question for the next FAQ: In the past you owned a Kemper and you sold it, but why? I understand that an AX8 is more practical for your Live Work (because you like real Tube Amps more) but you never mentioned something about that. I am a Kemper Owner myself and i like it very much. I use it Live and in the Studio and we used it for our Band to Reamp the last Album with it. I think it's awesome to have so many Choices today, but sometimes it's a little bit overwhelming...
Greetings from Germany
I remember telling ola a couple of years ago he needed a yellow guitar. He told me that's really not his type color. Nice to see him have one now.
Ola, I will gladly support your “cottage” dream by preordering your solo album! Love the channel, funny as hell, great content- cheers!
best way to spend a Sunday morning at work \m/
Happy new year! Swear your dream come true for 2019.
Greetings from Brazil
oh man that tristram cover. Diablo 1 & 2 are the best games I've ever played. I still play Diablo 2 regularly. Cool cover.
Lets keep working on the 14 day challenge please!! I need more. Thanks Ola
I will buy your album to help with the house. I'm also inspired by your playing, now I play better than before. Good luck.
Hola Ola! Your green guitar looks gold in that video. You should make one gold/orange!
That's a nice yellow color, hope we see Neon Lime and that Yellow color for the Evertune guitars in a near future.
I love that Six feet under riff. 5th on the bottom chords rule.
Ola, that is a great dream for 2019!
My goal for 2019 is to get a band going, and to start playing gigs.
Howdy Ola! An overall increase of 14 subscribers during this FAQ, not bad!! Keep up the awesome work. I enjoy your videos and I'm saving my pennies for a Solar Jensen model, it has everything I'm looking for in a metal guitar. Best of luck in 2019!!
In 2019 I will buy a Solar guitar, probably E shape! Good work Ola.
I’m definitely buying a Solar guitar this year! Hope that helps with the house purchase buddy
Where can I find that decibel meter you are using? I plan on building a home studio soon and that would be extremely useful
I'm loving that banana solar guitar. I'm drooling. I cant seem to find it on your solar page..TAKE MY MONEY
Ola! Can you show us how you EQ and compress your guitar tone in a recording mix?
