Completely agree. The mother was so composed. I would have gone off it that was my son. Props to the mom for staying calm and trying to resolve things the best way she could.

I showed this documentary to my mom’s boyfriend when he came over for dinner, he was in such shock when she admitted to the mother that she had assaulted with Derrick.
He was like there would be no way she’d still be in his house talking.
My mom couldn’t have kept her composure if it was me, she’d be going to jail on assault charges.

The mom did the right thing but it must have been so difficult for her to be so calm and to watch this going one right in front of her. . . But she knew she was dealing with a psycho and she had to have some evidence against the person because this is a hard case to prove.

Yoooo, the amount of times I hit the rewind button on the remote. I was like "hold up, what did she say?" And low-key, I think if the momma and brother had not stepped in, she would still be SA'n that man. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I just watched it, and OMG!! When his brother talked about the abrasions on his back, I wanted to throw up. How do you cheat on your husband, ruin and embarrass your family, ruin your career, and STILL refuse to take accountability. Sick as sh*t.

I think Anna was a predictor, the same way a school teacher would call abusing an underage boy love. I think her victim was vulnerable in a sense that made Anna feel powerful.
Hypothetically, say her delusion was true, and Derrick was fully capable of consent. She was the only person he could communicate through in this scenario, and even if he did ask her to engage in sexual acts she would hold an inappropriate amount of power in this dynamic. How is that an appropriate relationship? Further, how did they engage in sexual acts if Derrick needed her to hold his hand in order to type on a keyboard in order to communicate? Where was his agency? His ability to say stop, that hurts, I no longer consent?
I completely agree with the brother, that woman did not care about Derrick.

I watched it and cannot shake the disgust…they( the film producers) tried to make it seem like they are being neutral and unbiased about some truly unhinged sick and unforgivable behavior …. The woman clearly had mental issues ranging from white savior complex to passive aggression to sexual perversion
Yet they still tried to paint her as naive
And she only served 2 years of her sentence and was let go in a technicality and has net even expressed remorse for her vile act. That poor family went through too much and she got away with it

My brother has severe autism he cannot speak I’m 11 I watched it with my parents we were looking for a good documentary to watch and we found tell them you love me. The fact that he most likely didn’t know what Anna was doing to him and how she was being so delusional to think that it was ok to do that to Derrick? We watched the documentary yesterday and I couldn’t get it out of my mind this whole day and the night. Anna left her whole family just to ruin the whole family apart.

I just watched this documentary. As someone who has been honoured to work with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities for 20 years, I am horrified by this woman's actions! I have fought and advocated for the Right of the people I have supported. However this woman violated this man on every level. There are certain standards
The most important to me is that, No one will ever know or love my clients as much as their family!
Anna is a disgrace to my profession! She is not an advocate, she totally abused her position of trust! She abused DMAN and his family. I apologise to him and his family for what has been done! In the name of "Individual Rights". It's heartbreaking to me. As a professional, as a mother most of all as a human being!!!

It's gross! I think she sincerely believed her own lies. I live on the east coast I can't believe I didn't hear about this in the news. Also, I'm surprised that the university allowed her to run this researcher class or whatever it was because I went to Temple and we were told about how shady facilitated communication is.

Her ex-husband’s statement was very telling. He stated she was a pathological liar and narcissist. It's sad that she created this fantasy and gave Derrick’s family hope of his progress. Why was it that the only one that didn't believe the FC was the professor?

The bruises were so disturbing. Shes a monster! It was giving a sick fetish. I think she needed a psych evaluation. Lets talk... :)

I have a non verbal adult autistic daughter she has the mind of a small child. Anna what's her name is the reason why I care for my own I allow no one to get close to the most vulnerable person in my family. What boggles my mind is she takes no accountability for what she did, her smile made my skin crawl she served two years out of twelve that is insane. Anna what's her name is filthy predator I believe there is a very special place in hell for her.

It was a really good documentary, VERY DISTURBING, but it was one of the best I've seen, in a while. A lot of it is because of the way it leaves you feeling and thinking, afterwards. THAT'S WHY!
I watched it Thurs night, and I took was and still am at a loss. At first, I found myself side with Anna, IN THE BEGINNING. I was like, "Okay, she loves him, and he loves her. Let love, be love...
But seeing DMan, and how his day to day life routine was. From his waking up, eating, and his actual motor skills ...I was left confused as really trying to understand the logic of the woman, and how someone educated is seeing the rationality of her so called relationship. She was ready to leave her husband, and break up her family dynamic. It had to have been a fetish, or she truly and deeply was in love. The "I'll sign my name in blood" line she stated, had me shook.
She really was in love with him, and let her tell it, he loved her.🤦🏽🤷🏾
