I literally did an undergraduate seminar/thesis on what makes things oddly satisfying to the human brain based on Darwinism and human evolution. Basically my theory is exactly that it replicates ASMR visually. However, you also need to account for shine (which tells your brain that it is safe - ie. shiny foods are good to eat because theres no rot) and the perfect fit (seeing something fit perfectly into another thing - meaning that it is meant to be there and something isnt out of place)! I've made ambient music for years and it's remarkable how similar these discussions are to conversations about audio loops. The most important thing in those is the perfectly-aligned start/finish points. Probably the same thing is going on with video. The magic is when you watch/listen to a loop so long that you forget where the stich point is. And post-watch: Clint's actually had me on the edge of my seat, masterful loop right there. Plus the low res look makes it far more satisfying than going for a super HD look, for nostalgia reasons... what is more satisfying than dwelling in rose-tinted memories? If Peter had the extra day or so to make it loop, it would've been literally perfect. Definitely wasn't far off because everything else about it was so brilliant 🔥
Unpopular opinion: Clint had the most satisfying render. Peter, while aesthetically pleasing and visually most like your standard satisfying video, had way too much going on. A good satisfying render is very, very, simple and has 1 focal point with a few things going on relating to it. His contraption had so many things happening at one time it just becomes messy and that also created a lot of noise happening at once (though his sound effects were very entertaining.) Your eyes shouldn't have to jump everywhere while watching a satisfying video to find everything that is happening. It should all be presented in a small area. A conveyor belt of just the toast with a robot knife spreading cream cheese on it before it landed on a plate and was taken away would have been perfect. Wren's was too simple but it is hard to do anything with smoke because I think it's a bit too abstract for our senses. It isn't really tangible, it doesn't feel like anything, it doesn't make noise, and so on so when you compare it to other renders they showed that use metal or wood balls that collide with other things so it feels more real. Clint kept the simplicity in his render with the rake on sand being the focal point and had a few things mixed in around it. I think the downside to his is that it was too long. Gotta keep it short and sweet. A 2 second loop is all you really need. But hey, it isn't my job to do these sort of things and I'm no expert so take it with a grain of salt.
but thats the thing, it was supposed to be SATISFYING video, Clints was just calming zen loop, but without the satisfying factor. it was grainy, clipping through objects, poorly lit, etc. peters looked realistic with that nice aeshetic, and the machinery was satisfying to watch even tho it was a lot going on at the same time, nothing collided etc. Peter clear winner here
@@x340x Clint's looked bad because he accidentally deleted the higher quality version on his computer in the actual video. But I guess I wasn't clear. They all missed the mark and I'd argue none of them are satisfying but Clint is the closest in principle.

The model then gets imported to your 3D modeling program of choice, you build the orthotic around the cranial model, then you 3d print or CNC it depending on the amenities your clinic’s workshop has.

Me: "Maybe I'm just overthinking how dramatic they're making this channel"
Corridor: "So you're going to be competing for a computer you need to do your job"
Well, if you put it like that
they dont "need it". their computers are more than powerful enough. the new one is just nice to have.
Food's great and all, but that's sustenance, not satisfaction. A zen garden, though? That's satisfaction.
This was awesome
Beruhigender als jede Droge ^^

Making the DVD logo actually hit the corner everytime would be the winner in my book
Yes!
I seen the ones where they narrowly miss the corners on purpose 😬
@F__k this YT yeets all my comments I agree!
Goddamn i missed Peter.
The soft vocals, selfdeprecating coffee jokes, solid explanations.
One of the stronger presenters on Nodridor.
It makes me smile when Wren appreciated Peter by saying "I am honestly incredibly impressed Peter. You have come along way". :)
Peter: I’m gonna make a food themed loop
Wren: I’m gonna make a smoke themed loop
Clint: *stick noises*
honestly, just a well lit simulation of a bamboo filling up and emptying, with maybe a little twist or quirk would have been the best loop of them all.
Which in the end he didn’t do
"I'm very used to losing, so that is fine" - Wren accepting defeat like a champion..👍
Some BS.. Wren is only one who followed the rules.
@@wulfrache how much score do you think you'd get for a well written and thought out essay on History when the teacher asked you for Science
Wulfrack nope. He left out the satisfaction criteria, which is what wins
Also wren: steals the price pc at the end
@@skollskollskoll I disagree.. i found his the most satisfying of all of them... Wren's decapitated head... nuff said.
Honestly, with those results, Peter winning was a no-brainer. Shame, though. If Clint was able to render In HD, he might have stood a chance.
Dang it, spoiler.
He would have picked Peter anyways!
Issakal but I literally just started the video.

I deeply appreciate the fact that you put the length of the ad section in the top right corner. Just 80 second skip and back into action!
I know that I would alreafy have got past the ad section and continued the video if I hadn't skipped it and came down here to thank, but I think you deserve this.
I want this to be a series! Satisfying Saturdays? Sundays? Doesn’t matter, I want more plz!

At least he's honest about it

I think CGI should mean, *Cool Gratifying Imagery.*
Yea
@Ba Paoi Spam
computer graphics INTENSIFIES
HAHA, um NO? it means computer generated imagery LOL
NICE, I'm gonna start saying that
Why don’t you guys put “Wrender” anymore :(
Yeah I miss that
That´s when cmike was one of the editors or Nick, if i´m not mistaken
My brain does it automatically
The wrenders live on in our hearts and subconscious
Cmike always put in the hidden jokes
I now want a whole series of Peter making amazing Blender animations.
I like how they didn’t even mention Wren’s render while discussing the winner

Wren at 2:30 AM: takes a shot of tabasco hot sauce
do you think he did that to be funny or do you think he really does that off camera??
@@originalSiiiN I'd say both and you gotta stay awake somehow what better to keep you awake then a 'meh' of a hot sauce

@@originalSiiiN I didn't mean meh as in bad I like it too just meant for heat
twistedsith not to hot but a great flavor.
They should do CGI artists react to UA-camrs CGI, where they just show good CGI and give shout outs
They did a couple of youtubers cgi stuff when they first started. Would love a mini series of it to gove recognition to some under appreciated artists
John Smiths Doctor Who renders are legendary
If Peter had the extra day or so to make it loop, it would've been literally perfect. Definitely wasn't far off because everything else about it was so brilliant 🔥
*The ultimate thing that always makes me get satisfied:* be able to watch in higher quality than 480p
WHY IS NO ONE ELSE FREAKING OUT THAT PETER IS BACK!?
Welcome back Peter!
Because we freaked out at the video before at Corridor Cast where he came back
Shamoon Saqib Did not know that was a channel tbh
@@troupy_9299 now you do :)

When trying to stay awake:

Wren, an intellectual: Hot sauce straight from the bottle
To me the most satisfying thing was Sam's laugh at the end. That was lovely.
It's about time you guys make another rated R version of a movie.
or another way around, make a G-rated version of a very gory scene
I started typing a counter-opinion but almost instantly realized I'd just be arguing about opinions, which are usually entirely subjective.
but thats the thing, it was supposed to be SATISFYING video, Clints was just calming zen loop, but without the satisfying factor. it was grainy, clipping through objects, poorly lit, etc. peters looked realistic with that nice aeshetic, and the machinery was satisfying to watch even tho it was a lot going on at the same time, nothing collided etc. Peter clear winner here
@@x340x Clint's looked bad because he accidentally deleted the higher quality version on his computer in the actual video.
But I guess I wasn't clear. They all missed the mark and I'd argue none of them are satisfying but Clint is the closest in principle.
Wren tried to disqualify the person who could give him a computer
Yeah I noticed that too! and Wren was the only one who didn't "cheat"
Commitment to the competition beyond the prize :).
Because wren is an idiot
@@beyse101 wtf

Wren: "I WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED"
Me: "HE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED"
I’m sorry but what was Wren thinking when he made that LOOL
If Clint’s render was higher quality he definitely would’ve won in my book.
Christian's voice in the sponsor segment was satisfying. No hype nothing. Just explains the whole thing in a calm way.
What makes something satisfying is the simplicity of it.
Peter's render looks awesome but there's way too many things going on at the same time.
Clint's gave me full-on ASMR tingles.
What makes something satisfying is based on what someone likes
For me
If i am able to rewatch and discover new things each time. Like how movement work or how everything connects to continue it. (One ball hits another and it continues a machine or something)
It is satisfying
Clints was the best. Hands down. Peters looked cool but wasn’t all that satisfying. I would watch clints all day on repeat.
Are we gonna just ignore the fact that Wren just casually drank hot sauce lol
I really like how they do their sponsors, because it seems like they are actually using and enjoying the product.
@Govinda Kumar Thats what I said?
@@zzzaj2016 u kinda said it SEEMS like theyre enjoying it but they ARE
I think they do actually get to keep and use the product, at least for awhile. It's not just shown for the video and returned. Easy to pretend to use it when they really do.
I love how Peter and Clint made normal, satisfying animations
*then Wren goes ahead and makes something out of my nightmares*
Even more satisfying is just seeing how creative Peter has become with his ideas. Great video overall though, these are always fun to watch.
