The render was pretty, but the fun of a Rube Goldberg machine is the repeated anticipation and payoff. I couldn't follow why each part was happening, so it became an unconnected series of weird events.
Feel like it was a bit hard to follow the machine with the camera movement/framerate and so much going on at once visually. I think the best machines are the ones you can clearly follow step by step without having to pause or rewind because you can always tell the cause and effect clearly
Yes, the camera movement almost gave me motion sickness trying to follow it, but otherwise it is a VFX marvel and I can also appreciate the work that went into it.
I didn't want to be mean and comment anything negative but I agree I had a hard time following what was going on, and to be brutally honest I only found the sound design satisfying, the 3D scans were insane too though
Critique: it would have been better if the camera moved slower and was a little more zoomed out so the viewer has the chance to appreciate the physics of the machine.
@@ZillionPrey he definitely does have a point, the amount of detail and things going on almost makes it difficult to read. it the shots definitely could have been directed better
@@ZillionPrey it’s a brilliant render, super detailed, it’s just that the camerawork makes it difficult to follow exactly how they want it to be followed. there being hardly any clear focal points is my main critique
IMO, slow camera panning like this in videos without 60 fps, always ruins it a bit, and even without that I feel like the whole thing was too blurry for me to properly appreciate the details. I feel bad about saying it, but for me personally it wasn't satisfying to watch at all :/

Besides that I love how creative the space is, all the small elements and hidden little things are super fun to look at.
Yeah I would definitely agree that the camera movement was very unnecessary and disorienting. Also while cool, it certainly wasn’t satisfying so I’m not sure why they stuck with that in the title.
The problem is that there seems to be multiple parallel tracks going on in the machine… making it impossible to follow. That combined with unclear details like the pump (which I had to read about as I just couldn’t see it).
As a rube goldberg device I give it a 4/10 as a digital render I give it a 7/10. Hard to see the connected pieces working together but the assests are great looking just hard to follow.

Beautifully conceived and executed CGI Rube Goldberg contraption, though there are two minor problems. The first is that a good build strives not to waste elements, so you wouldn't have beans lost or water sloshing out. The second is that, though it was exceptionally clear to see, it was still a minor bit confusing as to what was happening due to the camera wobbling about and not more centered on the element in play that is moving from one point to the next. There's so much to see going on around the particular spot that is moving forward that you get too distracted and miss the point of following the beans from beginning to end. Still, awesome creation. Loved it.
ye that really destroys the satisfying element when stuff spills etc. its pretty high quality, so sinking that much time into it it cant all be perfect i guess
I feel like they really struggle with the concept of satisfying. They go so hard on creating something *technically* great that the end product loses most of the core tenants of satisfaction. IMO a satisfying render would be clean, smooth, and easy to follow. I don't want to shit on the end product because the process is super enjoyable to watch, just wish they'd go all in on one end of the spectrum and succeed, rather than trying to squeeze in so many competing elements that just cancel each other out and hurt the final result. Everything is very impressive individually but together it turns to mush.
I don't mind the spilling too much as it kinda grounds it a little more and makes it a tiny bit more believable. The camera, however, was making me absolutely sick. Why was it wobbling around so much? And it never stayed still, and the motion blur....

I never cared for CGI. Found this channel about 2 weeks ago and have watched about 30 videos so far. I never knew CGI was so hard to do and now when I watch any movie all I do is think about what is CGI and what not and what methods they must have used. LoL.
a thousand times easier now than it once was. its amazing what can be done. there is some great software (blender) that is also completely free and almost as good as what pixar etc would use. they used blender in this video. but yeah, its definitely not easy, even from my extremely limited experience of just playing around with it from time to time.

Yeah, that camera was just wobbling side to side the whole time. It's was very disorientating. I hope they see all the criticism and make a slower more stable version of this render. It doesn't allow you to appreciate anything that's really happening.
I appreciate every little detail in the final render but honestly it's a little bit hard to follow and see what's going on, I wish they made it much slower to make it more satisfying. Either way Great Job!
Watching it at 0.75x makes it a lot easier to follow some of the finer elements. Once you see how it all works together and aren’t distracted by some of the background stuff, it really is an incredibly complicated and cool contraption that they’ve dreamt up and executed. And that’s to say nothing of the aesthetics and tech at display hear. Great work as usual Corridor Crew!
Really cool animation super beautiful especially with the lighting. I do feel like the zooming in and out of the phone and fading transition to "loop" it is kind of a copout though, doesn't feel like a loop to me 😅
Just throwing an idea out there, when Jake said he is kinda thursty for some coffe, it would have been cool if Fenner put up his phone the same way he did in the animation and it would go through the whole process again in fast motion, and in the end they would be in the kitchen with Jake also being there talking to them and ending the video. None the less, it was an amazing video, yall are very inspiring. Loved the work.
This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

Just realized that 3d scans on their phones is the equivalent of musicians/producers recording any sound they hear in public that catches their ear with potential the same way objects catch their eyes.
*_Seeing this made in Blender is literally what is about to happen when the Blender Foundation is continuously evolving._* *_And as a Blender user, this render feels like it should be a short film._*
I must say, this polycam thing must be the greatest thing designed for rebuilding flats and houses, like you could scan your whole environment, then the designer can show you in VR what they've come up with, then you can approve or disapprove that (not for free, obviously), but at the very least, you would not be negatively surprised with something you don't want at the end, so it's all worth it.
@@bluewhalestudioblenderanim1132 the entire video is a paid advertisement, the company Polycam hired them to make a video that revolves around using their app. they even put the link for Polycam *twice* in the video description lol
If anyone was curious how photogrammetry and programs like Polycam are used outside of an artistic setting, archaeologists actually use them! We use programs like this to make photo-realistic renders of artifacts, features, archaeological sites, etc. because it's easier and safer to have a 3d model than it is to physically move something that may be thousands of years old, or that shouldn't be disturbed (i.e. a set of human remains). It's ridiculously cool technology that can be used for a whole mess of really cool things even beyond the art world!

As someone who built real life rube goldbergs, it is oddly satisfying to see them have similar hurdles to making one come to life. Turns out, you need to force some things to work properly by manually animating them. Meanwhile, a real life RG requires you to rethink that entire section to make it work. Great troubleshooting dudes
For those who actually believes that Jake is an actual tyrant type boss, watch any videos where Jake shows up unannounced, like the Jason Bourne disappearing trick video, and see the genuine joy in everyone just at seeing him. I'm sure he's an awesome boss.
The camera really needs some work, it was hard to concentrate on the animation when it was floating around nonstop. It's one of those things that can ruin great animations easily, and usually Corridor have a pretty amazing understanding of how to use an animated camera to great effect, this just wasn't it
One satisfying thing y'all should try is ballistic tracking to target, like have the camera follow a cube that lands perfectly through the air into a hole
This doesn't feel like a Rube Goldberg machine. Those have a clear "story-line" to follow between elements and outline everything from A to Z. And like many traditional "satisfying" renders are not overly complicated in their aesthetics. The simplicity of the individual elements and story-line structure allows for the entire machine to feel complicated when taken together as a whole. When the elements themselves are complicated and the story-line is too busy, then it stops feeling like a Rube Goldberg machine. What's kinda funny is that there have been some really good CGI machines similar to Rube Goldberg machines done by Corridor Crew in the past. Peter's Breakfast-making factory (from We Compete to Make the Most SATISFYING CGi) is the closest.
You guys should do a challenge like this but you get so much time to work on it that it makes it even harder to rate everybody’s art because it’s that good.

This is why I love rendering' and I owe you one for that. This is why I love your content.
P.S please bring more of these render challenges and satisfying CGI. It's so fun to watch. Kudos to all.
Waiting for more renders
😁😁😁😁😀😀
I never cared for CGI. Found this channel about 2 weeks ago and have watched about 30 videos so far. I never knew CGI was so hard to do and now when I watch any movie all I do is think about what is CGI and what not and what methods they must have used. LoL.
RoFL
Hehe. Lemme guess, born post 2000s?

I’m post 20th century and I care about VFX and CGI. (Shut up I know VFX is CGI)
a thousand times easier now than it once was. its amazing what can be done. there is some great software (blender) that is also completely free and almost as good as what pixar etc would use. they used blender in this video.
but yeah, its definitely not easy, even from my extremely limited experience of just playing around with it from time to time.
Peter and Jordan are the goated corridor combo, no question
Wren and Clint??
Jordan and Jordan?
@@ParallaxDimensions-UA-camYT Wren seems out classed by everyone who has joined corridor recently. He seems slow to really grow his skills, but he's been doing this for a decade. Just compare him to Peter. They aren't even in the same class.
@@fatal510 Whether he wants to be or not, I think Wren has become a sort of vfx supervisor for Corridor now that they've expanded so much. But he's been impressive for a long time. Peter is for sure extremely talented, though, I don't think anyone can deny that.
If you tried to give people motion sickness, you deserve an A+.

At 9:15 you can see a grey couch on the poly cam website. That is the couch we took photos on from my wedding! MY brother took the 3d scan of it before hand, so cool seeing it in a video.
hahahah wow. That must be fun seeing some random 3d scan you did suddenly appear in a corridor video
I love Jake, and all the effort he puts.
10:21 I bet that was the CLEANEST that bathroom has ever been, considering they were scanning it. lol
Corridor Crew playing with nerf guns
Jake: 😠
Corridor Crew playing Smash Bros.
Jake: 😡
Corridor Crew drinking coffee
Jake: 🤬
This is a trio to be reckoned with , can't wait to see what they come up with in the futureeee
I love this and the final render but I would minimize rotating the Z-Axis for the render cam; I found it a little disorientating when I watched it.
WHAT AN AMAZZZING STORY TELLING AND ABSOLUTELY SATISFYING RENDER!!!!!
0:24 that is the most homoerotic way to grind coffee that I can possibly imagine, gyrating your hips with your boys while the lost song from the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack plays
1:40 That was really good
19:07 - for anyone looking just for the finished product
It's about the journey not the destination. It's about the friends we made along the way.
18:15
You should use that sound clip as a "JakeHX" intro when ever it's a Jake specific video.
Amazing and fun as usual! the green screen casting the light on his t-shirt 20:07 is killing me tho!
I really love this trío. Literally they all balance each other in this amazing weird way haha
EDIT: omg Jonah haha that was funny too
That harmonised "Jake" was the real winner. Beautiful
I love that Jake isn't really an arsehole boss, he just plays one on UA-cam.
Is he?
He's the Paul Sr. of this show. He even has the mustache and tatts
Not an asshole, but I bet he’s quite tired of having to stop the procrastination marathons from time to time.
@@lucbloom That "procrastination" pays the bills. They make a clear point of that in the video.
Jake doth protest too much.
@@lucbloom Not to also be an asshole but this is clearly a job they all worked very hard to get and one they enjoy. We’ve seen that they are all very motivated and punctual people. I can almost guarantee you that if there really is any procrastination it certainly hasn’t evolved into a problem. These guys have been doing this same stuff for more than a decade, before they had any official supervision like Jake. I’m sure there would be no Corridor Digital if procrastination among them was the problem you suspect it may be
It was kinda hard to follow what was actually happening from one element to the next. I feel like if the camera focused more on where the action was it would be easier to follow. Maybe slow it down a bit too in spots. Was all over the place a bit
As a Swede, feeling compelled to mention "fika"! Having coffee and something to munch on. A must for any workplace. Perfect time to discuss things in another environment and get input from others that you may otherwise miss out on. So many solutions being found during fika.
Glad to see Jake's character arc over the course of the episode finally come into fruition after his ritualistic summoning was complete. Also I'm not even mad at the Jonah ex Machina, coming to the rescue with the sound! (Damn great render guys, seriously well done)
You guys NEED to talk about “Everything Everywhere All At Once” on the next CGI react video! Just saw it, and some of the effects blew my mind!
Every time I see that title it reminds me of Everywhere at the End of Time and I shiver
I wish they had gone with a hi-tech theme for making coffee. Imagine seeing a single coffee bean being sliced into grinds by a grid of lasers. That would be satisfying.
This video made my coffee addiction feel like a dirty drug habit that was ruining my life 😂😂
When we most needed them, they returned.
8:04
This bit was so well-executed, haha! Impeccable comedic delivery, too. 🤟
Just realized that 3d scans on their phones is the equivalent of musicians/producers recording any sound they hear in public that catches their ear with potential the same way objects catch their eyes.
This is a masterful render. The combined powers of Fenner, Jordan, and Peter are too much for this world to handle
7:34 I can only imagine the amount of clean up all these takes took lol
James Hoffman would be spinning in his grave if he saw that electric grinder touch his single origin coffee! Get a decent one guys ;)
In his grave?! Has the 1930s, 50s and 70s coffee finally caught up with him?
@@jonathanlidbetter956 Let’s meet again here in 50 years and check again.
*_Seeing this made in Blender is literally what is about to happen when the Blender Foundation is continuously evolving._*
*_And as a Blender user, this render feels like it should be a short film._*
You guys take the most random ideas and make them some of the most entertaining videos on the platform lol
yeah that's the most entertaining part of this :)
if by random ideas you mean paid advertisers and by videos you mean commercials
@@Derek_Keenan I don't think advertisers came up with all of this stuff . . SO What Do You Mean ???
@@bluewhalestudioblenderanim1132 the entire video is a paid advertisement, the company Polycam hired them to make a video that revolves around using their app. they even put the link for Polycam *twice* in the video description lol
Jordan: In a way you're making diamonds, from the pressure.
MPC Executives: Write that down!
I wonder how many takes they had to finish that sketch in the beginning
It wasn't a sketch it was a real dream
Brilliant… loved the glowing poly grid in the background… coffee is the best way to spend time ☕️ ⏰👍
If anyone was curious how photogrammetry and programs like Polycam are used outside of an artistic setting, archaeologists actually use them!
Nothing beats a satisfying render of coffee in the morning
The smell of a high quality roasted 3090
A minute in and this as already the 2nd best coffee commercial they ever made
Hey Corridor Crew, I just wanted to let you guys know how important all of you are to me and how each and every one of you brings a smile to face each video every day and how funny everyone there is I have been working on vfx for about 2 years and you guys have helped me learn from the bottom and rise to the top and just thank you for everything you've doon for the UA-cam community

Can we all acknowledge how this is a company where if there is a problem with management or the workplace is too lax, while fixing the problem it also generates them more content? It's pretty cool.
Fenner struggling to count how many coffees he has per day is gold
Mom said, “if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”…, so the sound design was wonderful. Really fantastic work on the sound my man! The sound was so real, sharp and true. Chef’s kiss. 👌
These three dudes are quickly turning into a dream team.
I have this theory that Jordan's teeth are very high poly CGI, matchmoved in real time. They're too perfect.
For those who actually believes that Jake is an actual tyrant type boss, watch any videos where Jake shows up unannounced, like the Jason Bourne disappearing trick video, and see the genuine joy in everyone just at seeing him. I'm sure he's an awesome boss.
That was incredibly cool, but I got lost if I'm honest lol, wasn't sure where to look to follow the sequence, but it was glorious nonetheless. :)
The camera really needs some work, it was hard to concentrate on the animation when it was floating around nonstop. It's one of those things that can ruin great animations easily, and usually Corridor have a pretty amazing understanding of how to use an animated camera to great effect, this just wasn't it
Now make satisfying renders that are also bowling animations
One satisfying thing y'all should try is ballistic tracking to target, like have the camera follow a cube that lands perfectly through the air into a hole
Loved the unintended reverse THX sound effect on 18:20-18:30.
The satisfying renders series is my favourite (especially machines), I'm glad you are continuing to do it
0:55 was that water in those mugs 🤔
I was shocked when the coffee was put directly in a dry filter instead of one pre-wet. Then we found out it was all a dream and I can rest easy.
Jordan shooting himself to finish the video is awesome, that's commitment
17:49
I love when the drone shots capture random shit happening in LA. Is that a fire in the background? A block or so back
1:30 would have been funny if they passed by a bunch of people playing Smash
Listening to the sound effects in the beginning shot is satisfying amazing
18:20 was the most beatiful "Jake" Iv'e ever heard.
You guys should do a challenge like this but you get so much time to work on it that it makes it even harder to rate everybody’s art because it’s that good.
