Friendly correction from a New Mexico resident. It's Elephant Butte (pronounced b-yoot) not Elephant Butt, BUT that was a great laugh! When learning about landforms, my 6th graders call it Elephant Butt-E/Butty!
This game is very similar to "Trekking the National Parks" board game as well minus the pick up and delivery. It looks like a fun game. I got my copy on sale last week at Target. Great review!
Thanks Laura! Yeah we loved the Trekking games. Can't wait to try Trekking through history soon. This one is similar and still offers the same accessibility as the Trekking games, but is different enough to provide a unique experience. Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for the video. If it comes to Canada, I'll certainly look it up. The theme and game-play are what I wish Pan AM had been about! I mean, come on, planes and flying around the world. But nope, very dry market, shares and you barely do any of the fun stuff. So USPS definitely stayed true to its nature and they added many great touches like names. As for stealing parcels, I think it's a great equalizer when you have a more experienced gamer at the table to allow the others to steal from him or her, but not the other way around. That's what I do for my hubby. I never do hate drafting or a 'take that' moves on him but I totally allow him to cause it evens the playing field. I even will point out which cards he wants to take away from me :P Cause I just want the game to be fun for him, too. Another way is that I try to win the game by more than a certain amount of points (10, 15, etc) compared to him. And as he gets better at one, it gets harder for me.
Those are some great ideas! I do think it's important to play in a way that makes it fun for everyone, even if that means the gamer has a disadvantage.
With the sea transportation you have to play a sea card and be on a spot with the water droplet icon. From their you move along the teal color lines a number spaces equal to the number on the card (doesn't matter if it's a blue airplane space or another teal water droplet space). As for the hometown bonus you just have to pickup mail from the special spot in the color region that matches your player color (i.e. Nibley for the blue player or Castle Danger for the red player)
I read the instructions and watched this and another video about how to play; but I still do not understand how to move around the board!! Please explain it.
So on your turn you have 3 actions, of which you can either draw cards or play cards in any combination but you must first draw whatever cards you're going to draw before playing any cards. Then the cards you play allow you to move. You move the exact number of spaces on the card you played and you can only move on the path lines that match the card you played (i.e. the pony Express moves along the brown dashed lines, while the van moves on the black road lines).
I just picked this up at Target this weekend. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, can't wait to get this to the table!
Thanks Daniel! Appreciate your comment. Let us know what you think of it once you get a chance to play it.
Checking this one out at well!

Glad to know it is at Target 🥰

Thank you, this was the best review to this game I've watched 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
I don’t understand which spaces to count in the waterways. How do you get the bonus for the ‘home city’?

Kudos from RunicNeonTelescope!

Call me a nerd, but that's a British locomotive not an American locomotive on the box.
Fun fact boring Oregon is a real coty
That's awesome! Love that they used real towns with unique names
I also saw chicken Alaska and jackpot Nevada which are also real
